Good luck all with scans today.

Pesto11 I think it's normal to worry. We all have different reasons for it. My mum had a stillbirth at about 29 weeks when I Was little and I know how these things can stick in your head. I'm fighting a constant battle with myself and worrying about every tiny little thing and due to a stitch I had in my cervix a few weeks ago I'm having far more checkups than most and still panic over everything!

Scan on Tuesday - really looking forwards to it.

Despite us deciding and agreeing we were going to wait (I think boy and he really wants girl - winner gets dinner type thing) - last night he piped up "so when are we finding out, is it next week?"

(me) At the birth...

(Him) "Oh, I was really hoping you would change your mind" followed by sad face

So although after sitting on the fence we had decided to wait, I am back on the fence now! So much respect to those who are capable of making up their minds (either way)!!

Enjoy the scans later on Kate and Rpopz :)

rumisyum · 15/08/2014 11:57

Haha, sleep! Hoping you'd change your mind... Good luck coming to a decision one way or other!

Pesto I had a moment yesterday where I "forgot" I was pregnant, then I realised it was because my body was feeling strangely light & as if I could move about normally. I found it really freaky, so I get how strange it must have felt this morning. I wonder if it's to do with baby getting themselves into particular positions, as they're still quite small? At any rate, I've also had anxious times this pregnancy, so you have all my sympathies. Hope the little one gives you a good reassuring wriggle very soon.

So exciting that all these scans are coming up! Mine is still 11 days away.

Welcome to the newbies Rose and Joosie. If you search in FB for Jan Babies and add as a friend then someone will be able to add you to the FB group.

I'm 19 weeks today and my movements have gone from feeling little pokes to feeling like baby is spinning around! It's lovely and I feel lucky to have movement before the 20 week scan, as I know it's also perfectly normal not to.

Pesto11 · 15/08/2014 13:10

Thanks rum k8 and mad
Yes the midwife said baby is probably moving to the back and therefore not so much at the front of my tummy... I don't know... She just thought 'First timer!'
Although I found the ribs being crushed quite painful ... Think I'm looking forward to being kicked in the ribs just to be reassured that all is ok in there!
Ohh...
Few more hours to go till this afternoon's scans... Enjoy : ) x

If you want to join the FB group please can you also put your MN name in a message to Jan Babies so the admin knows you're a genuine bus member?

Not long to wait for scans now! I'm just getting jumped on by DS and the bump is feeling a tad uncomfortable so I've booted him off. Mean mummy. Just off to Tesco though. Anyone want anything?

Just had a look and there are 3 outstanding friend requests for Jan Babies. If you've requested and not been accepted please can you PM me on here telling me your RL name, or Jan Babies on FB with your MN name, and I can get on it. I hope you understand the caution. :)

Scan update:

Scan went really well...mostly. Baby is all fine. Have to go back next week for another scan to look at the arteries. And I still haven't seen baby's face!!! Argh!!! But main thing is nothing is wrong! Yay!!!? And baby has the cutest feet ever!! And I have an anterior placenta which explains lack of movement. Main thing I CAN STOP WORRYING!!! (for today at least haha)

Rosedust · 15/08/2014 17:17

Thanks Chinese have requested and sent a message to the Jan Babies FB group Smile

Rosedust · 15/08/2014 17:18

So pleased the scan went well Kate. Fingers crossed you'll get to see their face next week!

ChineseFireball · 15/08/2014 17:41

Rosedust not had a message...have PM'd you on here!

Lovely scan news Kate :) no more worrying. Well, until the next time you worry , anyway!

KateTheHuman · 15/08/2014 18:07

Thanks Rose! Fingers crossed!

Thanks Chinese! I don't think the worrying ever stops. :-)

ChineseFireball · 15/08/2014 18:25

It changes, Kate. Some things are easier to dismiss than others and even when they're born it doesn't stop! I'm currently paranoid that DS is going to fall down the stairs. It freaks me out watching him walk down if I'm at the top because I know I can't do anything. Usually I go first and wait for him at the bottom but he's unimpressed with that recently and says "NO Mummy. STOP".

Rosedust I've added you to the FB group :)

Scan went well here too guys Smile

And how much better is the second Bounty pack!?! Freebie central!

KateTheHuman · 15/08/2014 20:16

Yay Rpopz congrats!!! Second bounty pack????

RPopz · 15/08/2014 20:31

Well you ladies might have it already... think I was supposed to get it last time but they'd run out. It's got a towel, some lotions and potions and cleaning wipes in it!! (easy to please haha) The last one I got was just full of advertising leaflets...

ChineseFireball · 15/08/2014 20:39

Huzzah for teenypopz :)

Yes the 2nd one is much better this time round than it was last time. They are in a big basket in my local EPU so each time I've been there I just take one. And I've still got the voucher from the 1st one for the 2nd one which I'm going to take into Asda because you can get extra freebies with it in there.

If you've not already joined Emma's Diary you can do and there's a reasonable goody bag that you can get from them too - you have to pick it up from Argos I think.
