I mean link it here. That first sentence sounds horrible!

cheshirem2b · 09/10/2014 14:54

Kate - 28 weeks here too! Hurray!
I have GTT tomorrow - not looking forward to it but there we go! My Mum is coming with me to keep me company and then after the test (which should start at 8.40) we are going for brunch/lunch before I go to work for the afternoon. Just hoping my levels are ok - I don't have any symptoms I would consider indicate GD but you never know as often there are no symptoms.

FX for your results as well Kate!
Baby was really active yesterday - kicking, rolling, moving around - it seemed like s/he was having a party in there! Think I will miss not having someone inside me once s/he arrives! 12 weeks and counting!

KateTheHuman · 09/10/2014 15:01

Yay high fives cheshire! We haven't done an animal comparison in a while haha. I wonder what critter we're up to now. Thank you for the luck! Good luck for your GTT too! Do you know how long it normally takes for them to tell you the results?
I love active baby! My bub freaked me out today at the test while I was waiting. I got proper kicks at the top in the middle! That's a first! Didn't think I'd ever get them with my placenta being all anteriory! hee.

KateTheHuman · 09/10/2014 15:17

How about a little penguin or a Coastal Plain Cooter aka turtle haha. Grin

KateTheHuman · 10/10/2014 20:03

Had my scan today and saw a consultant. GTT came back normal. Woo hoo!

SK28 · 10/10/2014 22:54

One of my friends said her absolute top tip for the hospital bag is straws - to avoid spilling drinks everywhere whilst in hospital bed!

RPopz · 11/10/2014 14:56

Oooh someone else said straws to me too! On The List.

cheshirem2b · 12/10/2014 10:30

I'm waiting for an appointment to have the fasting bloods of my GTT done again. The fasting bloods gave a high reading but the second bloods after the glucose were fine... At least I don't have to do all the test again! I think if the GTT doesn't give a normal reading this time I'm down as having GD... down side is meds/diet however plus side is that we'd probably have a baby for Christmas at 38weeks!

Started a list for my hospital bag this morning based on sleeps helpful sheet.

natharley11 · 12/10/2014 14:10

urgh got sent home sick second time this week. For fainting and dizziness. triage believe just low blood pressure and to get emergency docs appt tomorrow.

so my question is considering I got two weeks before annual leave and mat leave kick in, do you think worth getting sign me onto sick leave Sad

cheshirem2b · 12/10/2014 16:29

I'd go and see the gp and see what they say. I know what you mean about starting leave soon but better safe than sorry.
I've got 7 weeks left in work (not that I'm counting)! Hope you're feeling better soon. Get lots of rest.

natharley11 · 12/10/2014 16:48

yea think will see what docs say. I guess im lucky I got a very supportive manager who concerned for my health.
Don't seem effected bump he going mental doing somersaults

sunshineandbiscuits · 12/10/2014 19:16

Hello everyone! It's been nice to see the thread a bit more active in the last few days and a few old faces too Smile

natharley I would definitely go to the GP if you are not feeling well and see what they say.

Everything is going OK with me but I am getting more and more tired. Third trimester on Wednesday so I suppose it is to be expected, but it's taking a bit of getting used to. Work is very busy and DW has been away a lot which doesn't exactly help, hopefully this week will be a bit calmer. I've been enjoying wearing my new maternity clothes this week, but now everyone has noticed I'm pregnant and I'm getting constant comments!

GCT test tomorrow. I'm low risk, but in my area they do it for everyone. Urgh lucozade.

27+4

cheshirem2b · 13/10/2014 08:12

I'm supposed to have a growth scan and antenatal appointment today but who knows given the strikes. I called the hospital last week to check if my appointment was affected and was told they weren't striking!?
Anyone else expecting appointments today? Keep us posted...

EmmaJan2015 · 13/10/2014 10:15

natharley it's worth going to see your GP just in case. I fainted on the train last week and have been having dizzy spells occasionally throughout the last 5-6 months or so.

They took my blood pressure again and did a blood test to check for anaemia. They'll probably just say to eat smaller, more regular meals and to be careful...not getting up too quickly for example. They didnt suggest that I stopped working.

I've got a midwife app this week for my anti d injection. Plus we did our nursery decorating yesterday Grin, so exciting!

Hope everyone is doing well x

CallingAllEngels · 13/10/2014 10:21

Morning all. Just back from weekend in uk so today is recovery day on the sofa!

just tried my new maternity coat and it's way too bigon arms, chest and shoulders, even with a jumper underneath. Reckon I must need a 12 but my dutch site is sood out. Will have to order direct from uk instead. Haven't worked up energy to try on my jeans yet!

7 more weeks of work (and next week is half term). I really need to get sorted for my maternity cover to take over and sort all the baby stuff out.

29+1

cheshirem2b · 13/10/2014 13:16

Had a growth scan today at 28+4 and baby is doing just fine according everyone at the hospital. All measurements within parameters although estimated birth weight of 9lb... eek!
Have to have the fasting GTT again on Friday but I saw the midwife who gave me the result last week and she's told me it is only just over the "normal" range so to avoid sugar on Thursday and all being well the result will be fine on Friday then. They don't think there is any sign of GD from the result so far which is good news (although if I had GD baby would be induced at 38weeks in time for Christmas)!
Anyway, here is a peak of BabyH!

Wide awake with a terrible migraine :(
Baby kick in away so that's good but starting to feel generally crappy these days.
Must start hospital list/ and must dig out a bag!

BilboTheAlmighty · 15/10/2014 05:19

Hello again ladies! It's lovely to see how well everyone is coping, although it's not always easy every day!

I have my GTT soon but wasn't told to fast? Is it normal? I was asked to drink the lucozade (a very precise amount!) an hour before and nothing else AFTER until the test... Now starting to worry they've missed something Blush
