Hello,

Sorry, i've not had a chance to read back fully. Just dropping in quickly during a very busy day at work!

Hi to anyone new!

I've just spotted references to Christmas, yippee! I really cant wait...it means it's closer to having babies and it's also my birthday and also our wedding anniversary in the week before Christmas. We have a weekend away in the lakes booked as a last relaxing few days on our own. I'm going to make the most of it.

My mum dropped round a present last night. The Elizabeth Storksak baby change bag I really wanted from John Lewis Grin. My mum and dad are also putting most of the money towards the pram/travel combo so I was very shocked and grateful that they've bought this too.

Good news HelloMist about being given the clothes. I'm seeing one of my best friends next weekend and she has lots for us apparently. I'm just trying to find places to store it all before we get the baby bedroom sorted.

natharley11 · 25/09/2014 16:21

eek my sister just found out she having a boy too. our boys are going be three weeks apart so excited to be having a little nephew Smile

HelloMist · 25/09/2014 18:21

Thanks, Emma! I hope you get some nice clothes from your friend. Yes, storage is an issue...

I've been getting some inner thigh pain (like an ache the day after a lot of exercise) that seems to come on when I walk for longer than a few minutes (and sometimes when resting, but not often). I thought it'd stopped, but I got it again just now walking, and then had some other pain (a little like period pain but only briefly, so I'm not sure where... bump/pelvis maybe).

Should I be worried this might be a sign of SPD? (Pelvic problem, that's what some old posts here suggested). I'm not sure I have any other symptoms. I'm seeing the MW in a couple of weeks. Do you think I need to ring her before then? Confused I'm worried she'll dismiss it as nothing, but I suppose asking doesn't hurt.

Got told to book whooping cough vaccination after 28w. I wonder if they'll get us to have flu jabs as well?

blizy · 25/09/2014 21:24

Hellomist, is the pain in hour groin area? That's how m SPD started. I have been offered the flu jag night sure if it's a Scotland thing or nation wide?

Dh just came back from Asda with the wee vests in the picture!

I've been offered flu jab too. Taking DS for his in a couple of weeks so will have mine at same time. I think we should all be offered it.

HenriettaTurkey · 25/09/2014 22:59

HelloMist I have pgp which sounds ry similar... Hmm

HenriettaTurkey · 25/09/2014 23:19

...or very similar even!

HelloMist · 26/09/2014 08:27

Thanks blizy and Henrietta. Sorry to hear you have that, did it start recently? (This pregnancy?) At least I won't be alone if I turn out to. Did advice from doctor and physio help?

Definitely going to ring mw this morning. I forgot to say I had sciatica before getting pregnant (haven't had the pain since then... yet) and I think that can be a risk factor in these. Hmm

sleepisforthetired · 26/09/2014 08:58

Natharley DS has been asked to chose which bedroom he wants to live on once the baby comes home (we have to decorate anyway and thankfully he chose the "new" room which means we don't need to do too much to his old room. He also understands it will be small like friends baby but its ok as it will grow!

He isn't convinced it is in my tummy and keeps saying we have to go and buy it "later".

re Jabs - I am going to have both, just as soon as I get around to booking an appointment...

blizy · 26/09/2014 09:03

Natharley, I got it with my first pregnancy and have it again. Here in Glasgow all that's offered is a group physio session, which is just listening how to move and to do pelvic floor exercise, it's crap! I have the midwife on wed, I'm going to mention it.

We haven't got a list of names yet, I still really love Rory though.
It's a a holiday weekend here (September weekend), no work until Tuesday, yay!

EmmaJan2015 · 26/09/2014 09:11

natharley my sister is pregnant at the same time as me too. We're both having girls and she's due two days before me. It's going to be a busy time in our family! It's quite nice as we live close so we'll get to spend some of our mat leave together and possibly help each other out with childcare when we eventually both go back to work part time.

I've had my flu jab already - a few days ago. I think I was in the room for approx 40 seconds. They dont mess around!

Hope those with pains are ok, sounds horrible. Hope your partners/families etc are looking after you.

I had a good night last night...at just over 22 weeks I finally felt my first proper kicks!!! Grin Apart from very light flutters i'd not felt anything so far because of the placenta being in the way, so I was very very very happy to feel some pretty obvious kicks for half an hour or so. It definitely helped put my mind at rest.

Hope eveyone has a good weekend. We might be going to listen to a band at a local pub tonight for an hour or two. We're at my husbands dad and step mums on Sat/Sun...we haven't seen them since we told them that I was pregnant and I know they're giddy with excitement. They've already told us they've bought loads of clothes for her already. Plus 92 nappies apparently!

22+2

HelloMist · 26/09/2014 10:18

Emma, lovely to feel your first kicks! It's so exciting :) wow, that's a lot of nappies...

My pains aren't too bad, but I'm just worried in case it gets worse. I've self-referred to the physio on mw's suggestion. Hopefully next week they'll contact me and arrange to see me. I hope they're more help than you got, blizy. Yes, I'd mention to mw.

natharley11 · 26/09/2014 16:29

we told hin its coming for his birthday as only few days after due date and they want me have a c section.

I finally gave in and bought maternity clothes today turns out they not that flattering x

natharley11 · 26/09/2014 16:32

my sister due valentines emma and I can't wait esp as they didn't think could have children docs thought her being in Afghanistan had done too much damage. was horrid telling her I was pg and then like two weeks later found out she was. nice to have b someone to share all with x

cheshirem2b · 26/09/2014 20:20

I've officially caught girl flu! We were planning to go to our local pubs acoustic night tonight but I've sent DH to meet his friends there while I soak in the bath and prepare for Strictly in my PJs!

Nothing exciting planned here for the weekend I'm afraid! Just got to shift this cough and cold with sleep and pampering but that's all!

Any strictly fans amongst us? I'm looking forward to it!

natharley11 · 28/09/2014 11:34

I love strictly I think the dancer in me and been lucky enough to have met a chunk of the original dancers. my dp however hates it x

Pesto11 · 28/09/2014 22:50

Normally I love strictly bit for whatever random reasons I haven't seen it yet this year :(
Been soooooo tired all weekend and cannot believe it's Monday again in a couple of hours! Noooo
Hope everyone has a good week ahead

cheshirem2b · 29/09/2014 07:27

Morning ladies! After struggling to sleep all weekend with a rough cough and cold I finally got a decent nights sleep last night. Still feel rough but sleep has helped.
I've got to cover Court this morning which will be interesting as I've got no voice! Think I might work from home this afternoon though!
hope Monday is kind to everyone!

blizy · 29/09/2014 10:44

Cheshire, hope you feel better soon.
Bank hol here today, dh and I are off baby shopping Grin.

cheshirem2b · 29/09/2014 14:37

blitzy that sounds like a great bank hol! Enjoy the shopping!

I managed to cover my court but am home now in my onesie on the sofa! Bump is wriggling away so clearly my coughing isn't bothering him/her. Going to spend the afternoon napping and resting and hopefully back to work tomorrow.

blizy · 30/09/2014 08:26

Hope you are feeling better Cheshire.
Shopping trip was a disaster, my hips/pelvis was agony so had to come home. Although managed to buy a wee pair is footed trousers with a picture of a bear on the bum from gap, so cute!
I'm sat waiting on my mindee being dropped off, then it's off on the school run and toddler group for me. Such fun! I so seem to have caught a cold from one of the kids, hazard of the job!
Anyway, hope you all have a fab day.

cheshirem2b · 30/09/2014 10:23

blitzy rubbish that you have a cold! Hope you recover soon!

Also rubbish about your hip/pelvis pain - are you seeing anyone about that?
I'm back in work today but seem to be getting lots of sympathy from my colleagues which means I must look/sound rough (we don't give sympathy here unless you genuinely deserve it)!
I do feel like I am a lot better today though so hopefully I am on the mend, finally!

EmmaJan2015 · 30/09/2014 16:15

Booooooo to the rubbish colds!

No cold here, although I have been suffering with asthma over the last few days quite badly. No idea why. I have an inhaler which I only tend to need when pollen counts are really high. I usually use it 5 or 6 times a year but have probably used it that many times in the last 24 hours Hmm.

I've spent the last hour or so researching cribs and I think we're going with the snuzpod. What is everyone else doing crib/cot wise for the first 6 months? I didn't really want to buy any of the big stuff for another month or so but there's an offer at the moment so I might get this now.

cheshirem2b · 30/09/2014 19:06

We got the snuzpod last month when it was on offer and it seems great. We've put it together and it's in the nursery all ready for the new year.
