Good work Cheshire!

First day back at work after holiday today... Don't think I've EVER felt so pregnant. Had serious bump ache all day Sad Despite trying to sit down as much as I could.

I'm getting the low down kicks littlecat - and have been peeing like a trouper today!! Every so often get a sudden intense urge to wee but there's never much there so guessing its just baby tapdancing on my bladder! Grin

Hope you're feeling better Kate Thanks x

Oops. 24+2

Hurray! We passed audit and the auditer gave feedback that the solicitor she in interviewed (me ) was very thorough and knowledgeable! I must have said something sensible then?!

I've just got home after singing for a function at the cathedral after work and have realised I can't do this anymore... I'm too tired! Must learn to say no when asked to do after work events!

Hope you all get some good rest tonight!

PS: 24+4

Hope everyone is well :)

Hi ladies,

Glad to hear that we are all feeling mostly well. Our 20wk scan was a couple of weeks ago and we are delighted to be having a boy. I am sure we would have been happy either way but, since we will be having only one, DP is delighted that he won't have to deal with boyfriends etc and that he will be able to pass on manly stuff. I am happy as I am not at all keen on princesses Grin.

Junior is moving around like crazy but I am having to be 'fed up' as, although I have a good bump, I have only put on a little weight (and had no morning sickness). The problem is fitting much into my stomach - there just doesn't seem to be much room in there! I also had difficulty putting tights on yesterday for work - my ability to bend over is being hampered by the bump.

Love the picture of the nursery. We are moving house in 3 weeks so will start from scratch then. Junior is already known as 'eclectic baby' as we are going for everything second hand or hand me down (apart from car seat and cot mattress). Had a field day at the NCT NNS the other day - managed to get most things including bath, sling, play mat, cot bumper, changing mat, mobile, whole wardrobe of clothing including grobags etc for £107. Got some maternity wear and a dream genii pillow in that too. Mum and I were struggling to carry it all. Nothing matches but who cares.

sleepisforthetired · 16/09/2014 09:12

Bohemond that's sounds great! Good finds! Everyone loves a bargain!!

This baby will be living in its brothers old stuff. I brought a new crib only as needed a smaller one to fit in our room as we have redone the bedroom since DS was a newborn. Everything else is hand-me-downs!

Even if this turns out to be a girl, all DS newborn and a lot of 3-6 was neutral.

Having had the collywobbles baby will turn up early, I did buy a couple of "presents" new yesterday that will either be for Christmas (if early) or Easter (if on time) - but given how much I brought for DS, Dnewphew and Dneice, I concluded this was entirely reasonable... Blush

Only other New thing baby will have is a coming home outfit and toiletries/nappies Grin

Bohemond · 16/09/2014 11:41

It's great isn't it sleep. Regarding the clothes, I am pretty sure they will grow out of most of it immediately so I would rather it cost 50p than a fiver! Good idea about the coming home outfit - I expect one of the grannies will oblige.

KateTheHuman · 17/09/2014 13:37

Hi all. Hope everyone is feeling ok! This week is going so slowly! Why isn't it the weekend yet!

So boys name update. Ridley (I know he likes this), Dylan (i think OH is coming back around to this) and Ethan (I think he said he liked this). Out of 4000 baby names and the 15 I underlined I think these are the top 3. I know he also likes Lucian which I underlined but he says it differently to me so I scrapped that haha. No good if people don't know how to pronounce it. :)

Loobyloo893 · 17/09/2014 13:43

I love love love Ethan but DH can't say 'th' properly, he says 'f' so he'd say it as Efan which really really bugs me. It's the teacher in me. Lol. Our top choice at the moment is Noah.

23 weeks

KateTheHuman · 17/09/2014 13:50

I like Noah! Efan would annoy me too haha.

halfdoneharris · 17/09/2014 16:25

Noah is a lovely name. Time does feel like it is going slowly doesn't it. I guess we are all in that second trimester lull where we are (most of us) are feeling ok but definitely starting to get bigger and heavier.
I slept with a pillow between my legs for the first time last night - I really need to look out my long pregnancy pillow thing from the loft.

Looks like DH will be booking our holiday in the next couple of days (we were due to be away this week but had to cancel due to DH work commitments) - but hopefully will be going to somewhere sunny early October. Running out of weeks that I will be allowed to fly so hope we will book it sharpish.

24+3 today!

cheshirem2b · 17/09/2014 17:18

This week is dragging isn't it?! It feels like the weekend will never come!

I've been using my dream genii for the last couple of weeks and it is very comfy but I find I do still roll on my back and wake up with achy hips.

Bump is a bit achy this afternoon as well - I've been busy today and I think bump is just telling me s/he needs a rest. Plan for the evening is sofa, tv, dinner and bed! Grin

Have decided to start looking for Christmas presents as well now - have to be organised this year in case baby makes an early appearance!

sleepisforthetired · 17/09/2014 17:32

Cheshire here you on prepping early for Christmas. Being part of a big family has it's perks, but the downfall is Christmas as so many of the birthdays fall in this time!

Done a little more today, and feeling quite proud of myself :)

Nathan or Ethan is top of my boys list - but I love Nathaniel, however DP wont be swayed so currently Nathan or Ethan are front runners.

Girls names are proving tougher to decide on a short list

KateTheHuman · 17/09/2014 18:25

Posted my name choices elsewhere and got this reply:

Ok I don't want to be the one to sound horrible but I will put this as polite as I can! When I first seen you write Ridley I thought it was a typo and you meant Riley then you confirmed it and unfortunately my first thought was a circus clown who would be bullied in school and end up hating anything to do with circuses. (My name is carrie how do you think I feel about carryabags?)

Does anyone know a clown connection with Ridley? Haha.

Loobyloo893 · 17/09/2014 18:42

What?! Where did they get clowns from?

SK28 · 17/09/2014 18:48

I love Dylan and Noah, both gorgeous names. I've never heard Ridley in relation to clowns, Kate...

DH still haven't talked names. I've got a list but not shared it yet. We have compromised: not named after his parents as per Greek tradition but will go for Greek origin names.

My top two for girls are Andrianna or Anastasia (both Annie), but I also like Evangeline and Penelope. I like long names that can be shortened! I think my fave might be Andrianna Belle Smile Smile
Boys are harder I think, for Greek origin but still easy to pronounce in England and not tooooo Greek. I like both Leo (Leonidas? Hmm ) and Theo (Theodore). Also Sebastian, which I read somewhere is Greek. Maybe Demetri, although that's more definitely Greek!

I've basically got myself into a situation where I have a top 3 for girls' names, boys' names, prams and cribs/hammocks - but in none of these cases have I actually consulted DH! Blush

KateTheHuman · 17/09/2014 18:57

Haha I've got no idea where she got circus clowns from.

Ooh sk28 leo and theo were on my list but OH said nonononono!

RPopz · 17/09/2014 21:30

That is totally random Kate! Must admit my first thought was Ridley Scott... and then how much DH would love that name because he's totally obsessed with Alien...Hmm

KateTheHuman · 18/09/2014 05:58

That's where we got the name from. He loves Alien and Gladiator is my favourite film. :-)

KateTheHuman · 18/09/2014 06:40

Ooh yay 25 weeks today!

RPopz · 18/09/2014 08:10

Haha he would probably love you as well then!! Grin We already have a dog named after an Alien character... I draw the line at children Wink

cheshirem2b · 18/09/2014 08:15

After a bit of a melt down last night I'm feeling much brighter this morning. Got a later start to the day as well which helps!
25 weeks today and it's amazing watching baby move around inside me!

RPopz · 18/09/2014 08:39

Oops 24+5

ReadyForDinner · 18/09/2014 10:12

Hiya all, sounds like you are doing well.

I am sat at home with baby (nicknamed little gary by dh) doing somersaults and trying to curb dd enthusiasm for eating our poor house plants. its my first day back at work today post mat leave Confused my mum is coming to get dd at 11 and I'm working 1-9, still doesn't feel real. Can't imagine how knackered im gonna be when I finish but hey 10 weeks and then mat leave starts again!

SK28 we have one of each of you boy and girl names on our list, we have been told boy but you can only be prepared right? ! No greek connection here but now you mention it its definitely there!
