sk before I was pg with ds I was a 34D and went up to a 38B by the end of the pg, then back down to a 36C the last few years and now back up to a 38B. I doubt my rib cage will ever go back to being a 34 after being squished outwards by 2 babies. And for years I was wearing a 34A/B totally underestimating the size of my boobs! But I'd still get a 2nd opinion or measure yourself based on tne bra intervention threads in style and beauty.

SK28 · 13/09/2014 09:25

Calling I used those threads to measure myself last night and I'm still measuring 31 so should be in a 30 or 32 I think. Cup size I was less sure about my own measurement but I think I'm somewhere between a DD and F. Gives me a starting point at least but I will keep in mind the rib cage thing and re measure regularly!

blizy · 13/09/2014 10:00

I really should get myself off to bravissimo to be measured,, I'm sing out my bra now. I'm already a 36f so I dread to think what size I will need! I'm sat waiting at a retail park car park on a lady to pick up my used babywipe packs, I collect empties for count the kicks charity, they recycle them and get 2p per pack. There are lots of regional collectors out there, you should check it out.

rumisyum · 13/09/2014 12:58

Confession: I've never been professionally measured. I can't be arsed with the bras I've got at the moment - I found some from H&M that were cheap & comfy & fit well enough with my own home measurements, so they'll do for now. Maybe I'll have my first ever fitting later on when they recommend you go get sorted for nursing bras. A friend recommended John Lewis, so I might trek to one of those.

Survived my first prenatal yoga class! It wasn't much of a workout, but it was a nice relaxation/stretch & the group seemed quite nice, so I'll be back. I've 2 other classes starting next week - aquanatal and a different yoga class. Here's hoping I meet some nice local preggo people in those.

I'm craving cheesecake now after reading this. And I was so good having salad for dinner last night, a kale smoothie for brekkie this morning, and a random lunch of leftovers, but healthy. But now all I want is cake. Oh my poor thighs.

CakeCakeCake

cheshirem2b · 13/09/2014 14:53

rum you're putting us to shame with your healthy eating! eek! Don't think I could stomach a kale smoothie!

bargain spotting today and if anyone has a home bargains store near them they do fitted cot sheets for £4.99 for a pack of two in various sizes! Much cheaper than many of the usual baby shops.

DH wants to put some of the wall stickers up in the nursery later! yay! Grin

re antenatal classes: I wanted to do aquanatal but the only one near me is on a Wednesday at 10am... Don't think my boss would let me have time off for that! Wink

SK28 · 13/09/2014 21:25

Cheshire I read somewhere that antenatal yoga counts as antenatal care and therefore your employer should let you go - aqua natal presumably has the same argument. Not sure how much of this is discretionary though.

Went bra shopping again armed with my self-measurements and came back with a few 32D non-wired bras (which I did find more comfy overall and surprisingly supportive in the right fit) and a couple of 32DD wired bras (for certain outfits/occasions) - up one back size since pre-pregnancy which feels more reasonable :)

cheshirem2b · 13/09/2014 23:48

SK28 that sounds much more like proper measuring and hopefully the fight fit!

I don't think my employer will let me out for aquanatal as I've come off the oncall rota!

We did the nursery stickers... They look great!

Morning all
How long did it take for you to receive the nhs prescription exemption cards?
Sent mine off weeks ago-still no sign...
In other news- I am living in converse- my feet hurt so much in flat pumps or boots

Happy Sunday to all

Loobyloo893 · 14/09/2014 09:06

Morning all.

Pesto mine came through fairly quickly I think. Although if u need a prescription just tell them ur still waiting for card and they should give it to you for free anyway.

Lack of sleep is driving me nuts now. I can get to sleep ok but seem to wake up at 2ish and then that's it for the night. Lucky if I doze off again for about before DS is up at 6. Is this natures way of preparing me for newborn sleepless nights?!

RPopz · 14/09/2014 16:52

I got mine ages ago Pesto - I sent the form off and it came about a week later.

Back to work tomorrow after a lovely fortnight off... Eurgh Sad Maternity leave can't come quick enough!!

24+1 - legally having a "viable" baby now!! Does anyone else find it really weird/ frightening how the difference between a miscarriage and a premature baby is literally a few days... Confused Bit morbid, sorry!

That is crazy isn't it. I was reading a story on fb the other day about a woman whose baby was 14 weeks early. Yesterday was her actual due date. She'd taken a picture of herself the day before she went in to labour and she didn't even have a bump yet! Shock

Pesto11 · 14/09/2014 22:56

I took my prescription to the chemist and they wouldn't give me the meds without the card! Grr
Might try another chemist, then just pay for it. Need to chase that card though!
Shattered at the thought of this week ahead... Roll on Friday pm!

sleepisforthetired · 14/09/2014 23:52

Hey all - back from a weeks break, so just caught up. Am now 24 weeks. I have a sister born at 23+5, who survived with no long term health issues. Now that feels weird.

Glad to see everyone is mostly well :) I have consultant this week. Hopeful will sort an action plan for birth just so I can mentally prepare.

I have a pelvic pain right side. It's getting progressively worse. I now how be trouble standing from sitting. Worth seeing midwife or gp? Or just wait till consultant and mention it in passing?

SK28 · 15/09/2014 00:21

Sleep I thought I had back pain but it's my pelvis. It's getting worse, every time I stand up it hurts, rolling over in bed is agony, it starts hurting if I stand or sit in one position too long... I mentioned it to mw at 22 week check and she said it might be SID (I think) but is too early to diagnose. My pg yoga teacher was really cross though, she said they should have referred me to a physio immediately as the sooner you start looking at it the better. I'm going to try and call mw tomorrow, though last time couldn't get through and never got a call back. So I'm also going to look at whether my work private medical would cover it. It's unpleasant already and getting worse so definitely want it looked at. If I were you, I'd mention it ASAP and really push for a referral if need be.

Hello everyone! I haven't posted for a few weeks due to holiday and general busyness, but I've been lurking on here and keeping up to date with everything. I'm 23+5 today so have also been contemplating the oddness of 24 weeks and technical viability. I find it a little bit reassuring, but not very much. I suppose every week that passes now is a good week.

sleep and sk hope the pelvic pain improves soon. Doesn't sound fun.

Main development over here is the baby's ever-improving to kick me really hard. You can now see the bump twitching and moving now which is quite exciting. She also kept me from going to sleep for the first time last night which was a bit less welcome. Guess I better get used to it!

KateTheHuman · 15/09/2014 08:45

Hi all. Didn't sleep much. Sat here at my desk crying because I'm so tired. Wanna go to bed. Urgh. Also bub is going through a growth spurt. Constantly hungry and random pains. Double urg!!

cheshirem2b · 15/09/2014 11:28

Oh Kate poor you! Early to bed for you tonight by the sounds of it!

We've got an audit in work today and the auditor wants to interview me this afternoon...Confused hopefully baby brain keeps at bay and I don't say something stupid!

rumisyum · 15/09/2014 12:13

Morning all! What was that about healthy eating earlier? Today I am eating ALL the toast. Ah, pregnancy.

The whole 24 weeks viable thing is very surreal, but as someone who's not quite there yet I can't wait to pass that milestone.

Sorry to hear about the pelvic pain sleep and SK. Hope you get some help for it - doesn't sound fun! Heartburn is still making me a bit of a sleep deprived zombie over here. I need to buy some more pillows so I can prop myself more upright in bed, I think.

We've suddenly gone into full on baby prep mode over here. I spent what felt like hours reading up about cloth nappies this weekend & have booked a demo with a local nappy lady. And we tried on slings in a John Lewis the other day & are now fighting over which one we prefer. I reckon I get first choice as I'll be home with baby more than he will, no? Wink Anyway, I'm going to go to the local sling library at their next meet up & try on some others. Yesterday we fetched our high chair & today I seem to be receiving all sorts of parcels of baby stuff that we've ordered online. (Washable breastpads, anyone? My life come January is going to be so glamorous! Grin ) It's quite exciting!

EmmaJan2015 · 15/09/2014 12:45

Hi all,

Hope all those with pains feel better soon.

Jersey Boys was good at the theatre. A little slow to begin with but it got better after that. Hope everyone had a good weekend. Cheesecake was very nice, as was a naughty little glass of champagne with friends as a toast!

Still very little in the way of kicks and other feelings for me, (anterior placenta), in fact other than having a bump I dont feel pregnant at all Hmm. I did have some strange pains on Saturday though...on one side of the bump, sort of like sharp nerve pains. I'm assuming she was on a nerve or something.

Anyone else really feeling a work countdown now? I have a couple of large projects ongoing until December/January and even though i'm obviously going to make sure everything happens as it should and that the clients are happy etc, i'm definitely feeling less interested about planning long term Blush. Roll on January!

EmmaJan2015 · 15/09/2014 12:46

Gorgeous nursery by the way Cheshire. Haven't even started ours yet!

cheshirem2b · 15/09/2014 12:51

Rum I have ordered breast pads, cream, storage bags from amazon - they did a set of Lansinoh products for £30 delivered so thought that's not too bad. Our lives will be so glamorous!

I don't think I could bring myself to do cloth nappies... well done those of you planning for that though!

littlecat123 · 15/09/2014 14:53

Hello everyone! I'm back after shamefully abandoning mumsnet for the Facebook group. I just found it so hard to catch up after I went away for my birthday I just gave up but just finished catching up glad all seems to be well with everyone I'm getting really bad stretching pains as well. Does anyone else feel like their baby is just really low down? He kicks me in my cervix all the time and feel like he's squished my bladder and its making me not want to drink any water and I drink so much water normally but il guess I just have to deal with it I'm just so lazy I see going for a wee as a chore haha.

I also have my GTT test soon for bmi over 30 and family history. the thought of not eating really puts me off. I never used to be a breakfast person but now I can't make it through the mornings without my toast. I should really cut out the sweet treats but they seem to be my craving at the minute a long with veg luckily I could just eat a big bowl of broccoli.

Getting into nesting mode and nursery is starting to come a long I can't wait. Jealous of all your maternity leaves I've made the probably crazy decision to carry on into my second year of uni I start back on the 29th after 4 months off so bored but trying to appreciate it as I won't have a holidays again till December 13th- January 7th baby is due jan 8th so probably will take another 6 weeks off then go back to uni. Am I crazy? I have no other form of income other than uni so it's really the only option as I wouldn't get any benefits or leave money I don't think
