Kate, it would be 13 weeks for me if it wasn't for the annual leave I am taking as well! Happy days! I knew saving my leave would work out well in the long run! Grin

Saraswati · 11/09/2014 16:26

11 weeks left here too, maybe 10 if I take all of my leave at once. I'm keeping a weeks worth in case I want to go down to 3 or 4 days a week towards the end. I only do an office job but am getting very tired. I walk to and from work everyday, its only half an hour each way and I'm so tired when I get in! Feel like my body is falling apart already, so much for all those years eating healthily and exercising Hmm

I've got a leaving do tonight for an old colleague, will be lots of people there I haven't seen since christmas last year, not sure how many of them know i'm pregnant! I'm so tired but it should be quite funny to see a fwe shocked faces :)

RPopz · 11/09/2014 17:46

I have no idea how long I've got left... Need to see how much annual leave I have left... should really sort something out!!

EmmaJan2015 · 11/09/2014 17:54

I think i'm working until mid-Jan...but from home after Christmas so I dont have to worry about the train commute!

I had a call with my HR guy today and found out I get 9 weeks full pay and the rest SMP so a bit better than i thought.

Got given a load of barely used Isabella Oliver stuff today from a friend so I'm quite excited to look through it all Smile

CallingAllEngels · 11/09/2014 18:02

11 weeks left here, though one week is half term so only 30 days of teaching left!

Shit...I have so much to organise before I go.

25+4

RPopz · 11/09/2014 18:21

Hmmm. I've got about 14 weeks left, if I take holiday for Christmas and go straight after that. Sounds less impressive!

I've got 7 days left of my holiday so can only break up earliest the 12th dec. I don't wanna take maternity until after the Christmas holiday so I get full holiday pay.

SK28 · 11/09/2014 22:45

I've got 14 weeks left at work, I think, give or take - haven't quite confirmed holiday dates. Can't wait!

On a different note - is anyone else finding their eyesight has changed? I had a sight test shortly before falling pregnant and a new prescription so there's no way normally it'd change that quickly. But I'm really feeling my prescription isn't strong enough at all now. I don't suppose eye care is free in pregnancy like dental care is, does anyone know?

RPopz · 12/09/2014 00:14

I've read a lot of things recently about eyesight changing at this stage of pregnancy sk ... apparently they don't recommend changing prescriptions etc as it'll likely go back to normal after birth. Unless you're a danger to yourself/ others I guess Wink

SK28 · 12/09/2014 06:39

Thanks Popz, good and useful to know it should go back. Didn't fancy paying for new lenses in my glasses again already! I'm not really driving right now so even if it gets a little worse I shouldn't be a danger :) I'll mention it in my 25 week check if it is either worse or bothering me a lot.

Was woken up at 6 this morning by noise outside - it's my work from home day so usually a bit of a lie in but I've actually enjoyed lying here feeling baby move (with a small amount of prodding Wink ), such a lovely start to the day!

blizy · 12/09/2014 07:00

I'm finishing work on the 19th dec and returning in April after the school easter holiday.
Rpopz, you get free eye care too (until baby is one year old).

EmmaJan2015 · 12/09/2014 07:07

It was stupid insomnia that woke me up at 4.55am this morning :-( Still, at least i've got loads done already! I'm working from home today too.

Does anyone know if we can eat cheesecake? I.e. a regular supermarket one - not a baked version. We've got one in the freezer and I keep seeing it every time I open the sodding freezer door Cake

Has anyone got anything good planned over the weekend? I'm going to the theatre tomorrow afternoon to see Jersey Boys with my sister, mum, MIL, and my sisters MIL. Then we have dinner at a friends in the evening. The local golf club has some kind of baby sale on Sunday morning so I might head to that and see if there is anything we want, which i'm sure will be loads! Really trying not to get too much too soon before we get the nursery ready.

cheshirem2b · 12/09/2014 08:09

No plans here for the weekend (phew) so I'm going for a quiet sleepy weekend!
I'm sure we can eat cheesecake.... I have! Confused

blizy · 12/09/2014 08:32

YES to the cheesecake, enjoy Grin.

We are off to visit our friends and their tiny squishy 10 day old baby boy tomorrow, much excited! Apart from that we have no plans.

HenriettaTurkey · 12/09/2014 08:56

Enjoy the Jersey Boys! Sounds amazing - I see far too few West End productions. LOVED Blithe Spirit with Angela Lansbury in March, though.

KateTheHuman · 12/09/2014 10:50

Yay to cheesecake!!! Boo to my bub kicking me in the downstairs region! Turn around please you little monster! hahaha!

24+1

Saraswati · 12/09/2014 11:01

I'm off to the theatre too this weekend Emma We're trying to do fun things before the baby comes as we can't go on a babymoon as DH is using all his annual leave instead of paternity leave. We are going to see bring up the bodies (royal shakespeare company adaptation of the mantel book) I'm really excited, its about anne boleyn and her trial etc. I loved the book so hoping the play lives up to it. We're also going to an exhibition at the barbican and dinner in London so should be a nice day tomorrow.

I've got all my forms from work sorted to put in my claim for maternity allowance (I don't qualify for SMP but maternity allowance is the same financially) so going to fill in my bit at the weekend and send it off. Glad to get it all sorted and my hr department have been relly helpful which is nice.

Saw loads of old colleagues last night and got loads of 'oh you are massive' and 'oh you are tiny' comments - people are so annoying! Mostly they were very nice and said I looked the same just with a bump which is good to hear!! Just eaten a krispy kreme at work though so wont stay this way for long ;)

25 weeks today :O it's flying by now!!

RPopz · 12/09/2014 15:50

Haha Kate I'm getting the downstairs kicking too! Sonographer said baby was squashed right at the top of my uterus though Confused

SK28 · 12/09/2014 18:18

Thanks Blizy for note about free eye care, great to know.

Just had a weird experience in M&S... finally got around to making an appointment to be measured. I know it's quite late but I've been away a lot and didn't really notice my boobs growing much till recently. Anyway she started by telling me off for wearing a bra that's too small and wired, which was odd and unnecessary because obviously that's why I was there...

So previously I wore a 30DD - I'm now in a 38AA! She assured me the huge back size increase is because I'm carrying high rather than because of putting on loads of weight (I was confused because I'm still in my normal dress size in mat wear), and then going up so many back sizes obviously means going down equivalent cup sizes - but seriously 30DD to 38AA?! Shock Anyone else had similar surprises?

cheshirem2b · 12/09/2014 19:21

SK28 I really hate m&s for bra fitting! in my humble opinion they are useless! I'm a big boobed lady but they never measured me properly. I now use independents or bravissimo. If you find the back of your bra moving or riding up it's too big. Good luck though.

SK28 · 12/09/2014 19:51

Cheshire I've not had too bad an experience before but I might get a second opinion on this occasion. I just bought a cheap two pack for £14 so if I do go to Bravissimo I won't feel bad if I spend more Smile M&S is just the most convenient place for me right now unfortunately, so not that much choice!

RPopz · 12/09/2014 20:45

That sounds like total BS to me Sk!! I'd go elsewhere.

SK28 · 12/09/2014 21:25

Think maybe I will, Rpopz - I felt like it was wrong (although bra itself didn't feel awful) but deferred to perceived expertise. But since you guys are sceptical too I think perhaps I'll go elsewhere to check. Maybe won't wear the M&S bras till I do, so I can return them if needed.

rumisyum · 13/09/2014 08:42

Mooooooooorning! Eeek, sorry ladies, I've been terrible at keeping up here. (And I've holidaying like there's no tomorrow.) Finally back from all the hols now, so will keep up better!

Thanks for the tip (given ages ago now!) about Gaviscon free on prescription. I will be bugging my GP for those at my 25 week appt as the middle-of-the-night heartburn is KILLING me still. I've tried eating smaller/lighter meals for dinner, and taking those chewable Rennies &/or Gaviscon at bedtime but it's still not quite kicked it. Guess I have to eat smaller/lighter meals in the evening still. Which will probably help my weight as well. Hmm I don't think I've gained an excessive amount of weight so far, and I've been trying to eat healthily like we normally do, but my body is definitely on some kind of fat storage mission. Goodness gracious my thighs, ugh ugh ugh, my thighs. (It's all for baby, it's all for baby, it's all for baby...)

Got my first antenatal yoga class shortly and eeeeep! I'm excited! Potential new mum friends! Grin

So much good to catch up on, hurrah for happy scans and baby girls! And for finding lost diamonds! And OMG Henrietta what a twat that consultant sounded! "Who will look after your husband and toddler", indeed.

Right, enjoy the lovely sounding weekend plans, ladies. We got some theatre tokens as a pressie that we really have to use. I want to see the Crucible - need to get on and book something. But this weekend will mostly be laundry & errands & holiday recovery home downtime methinks.
