I had a similar tantrum a few weeks ago when DH ate "my" nectarine... Since then I've not craved fruit so it's his fault I'm eating rubbish right?

my baby seems to kick more on my left hand side and under my belly button but very rarely feel anything on the right side... Little one is clearly comfy with its feet on the left side I presume?

Where has everyone gone on here? I know a lot of us are on fb but come on ladies... we were really chatty a few weeks ago!

KateTheHuman · 08/09/2014 19:31

I had a hormonal meltdown earlier. I posted my healthy food shop on my g+ and someone suggested ways it could be healthier. I was so proud of my shop I just started crying and deleted the post. Silly hormones! ?

KateTheHuman · 08/09/2014 19:33

To be fair the fb page isn't amazingly busy. Where is everyone?

CallingAllEngels · 08/09/2014 19:52

I'm back to work and absolutely zonked. Just wait until the first few people go on ML - there'll be no stopping us!

CallingAllEngels · 08/09/2014 19:56

Kate I have been having massive cake and sweet things cravings too. Not the best timing since DH has been put on a diet on GP's orders and has to keep his sugar down. He says I'm tempting him - so am buying biscuits to take to work!

Saraswati · 08/09/2014 20:27

I'm here! I guess we've all got to a point where we've had all our scans and it seems like ages until something exciting happens! Had my 25 week gp appointment today - not much to report, hb check, bp check, fundal height and got my mat1b form. It was very quick! Booked my flu jab for October too. After going to the hospital on Friday it seemed a bit pointless as it was all the same checks really!

Pesto11 · 08/09/2014 20:50

cheshire my mum days left hand side pains and low pains equal baby girl- she was right for me!
My baby girl likes to jam her feet in my ribs at night - great(!)
I'm not going to bother with a coat, just hoping to wear my usual one and keep the front open!
I have bought a rain jacket/fleece thing in a bigger size for baby walks late jan:February onwards.

Doc has put me on stronger meds for my asthma so I haven't woken up unable to breathe for the past few night, however still needing my 4am trip to the loo(!)

I remember being completely off sweet food in the first 3 months- now I'm eating so much chocolate and desserts etc that I'm a little worried about diabetes!

Good luck to all with 20 week scans Smile
(I preferred my 12 week scan pic too)
X

blizy · 08/09/2014 21:27

Pesto, im eating far too much sweet stuff too. I have started to cut it down, I'm anxious about my weight and GD.
I've been crazy busy with work and just totally exhausted in the evenings!
I have a parka I bought last year which was too big but has adjustable waist ties, hoping that will last me all the way through.
Only 9 more sleeps until my scan!

Pesto11 · 08/09/2014 21:42

Eek just weighed myself!
I've put on half a stone in 2 weeks!!!!
Noticed bump suddenly being big over the past week- but 7pounds in 14 days?!?!!
Overall I've put on 1stone and 5 pounds in 23 weeks...
And I've just opened a large sharing bag of cadburys buttons(except that I'm not sharing them with anyone!!!)
Think I see my problem!!! Oh dear...

SK28 · 08/09/2014 22:45

I just had a bit of a splurge in H&M - they have buy one get one half price on jeans so I bought two nice mat pairs, one slim and one skinny (size up though for those!) and both over-bump. Also got some legging type things that will be good for yoga but can do for other casual occasions too, and a lovely soft grey wrap cardigan with a tie belt - I think it might negate need for a winter coat, if I layer it up with scarves underneath my normal coat (not done up) then I might be okay. Plus it's just a good outer layer on its own in autumn :) £90 lighter (got some tights too) but all good investments I think - hope DH agrees!

KateTheHuman · 09/09/2014 06:46

Now I'm not eating a lot of sugary stuff, will bub be less hyper in there?

23+5

Loobyloo893 · 09/09/2014 07:02

I completely went off sugary stuff to begin with but since about 14 weeks in definitely making up for it. I don't think I've gone a day without a twix! Oops. Luckily though I've only put on half a stone so far. When I'm not pregnant id be ballooning with the amount I'm eating but I had the same with DS, when I'm pregnant I seem to be able to eat anything and not put much weight on (unless it all decides to get me at the end this time).

Im still having people keep telling me bump is tiny/non existent! Only one person has asked if I'm pregnant and I was wearing a maternity tankini at the time so it was fairly obvious. I must just not look pregnant when I'm dressed lol. Can't wait for bump to pop out Smile

Hope everyone's ok today, any nice plans?

Just realised I'm 21+6, wishing the weeks away lol

I've been feeling my first definite kicks for the last week now! And DH felt one with his hand on my belly. All mine have been on the right side so far (I've got an anterior placenta but high-lying) and it's a girl so Pesto, your Mum's nice theory doesn't work for me. (Unless we were told the sex wrong!!)

I'm wondering about a winter coat too. I've been spending (carefully) on other items, but they seem such a lot. Though I don't think the shops have got in their winter ranges yet, so there aren't many to choose from yet anyway. I want to get some thick tights too, but it's the same with those.

Bought my first maternity jeans, which I'm quite pleased with, and there are some cords on the way from EBay. :) I've only got thin maternity trousers otherwise (which are fine for the moment). My old ones are mostly getting too tight.

There is always Graze if people want some healthy snacks! I don't get them weekly (less often) because of the cost and just make them last longer. Can be fun to have a surprise mixture come through the door. I think cutting down is a good idea, but if you're having healthy meals then don't feel too guilty snacking a little. (I try not to).

Good luck for anyone with scans this week, particularly EmmaJan. I had a few odd thoughts in the weeks before mine (that something silly could have hurt the baby); it's very normal to be worried!

HenriettaTurkey · 09/09/2014 08:43

Morning all! Scanxiety here: I'm booked in for midday and am having all sorts of worries. One of mine is also weight related, but conversely it's that I've not put on enough weight!

It's not as though I'm a slim Jim - my BMI was 27 pre-pregnancy. But I weighed myself this morning and so far have put on 4lb at 20+4.

Now I'm panicking that at the scan there'll be the world's smallest baby...talk sense into me!

SK28 · 09/09/2014 08:44

Had a horrid start to the day - sitting on sofa eating breakfast and noticed one of my engagement ring diamonds is missing Sad Retraced my steps but no luck. Seriously hoping it fell out post - shower and isn't in the pipes, and I have an eagle-eyed friend coming over tonight to help, with lots of ideas like tights over a hoover nozzle and using a torch etc, but it feels like such a needle-in-haystack situation... :(

Hope everyone else's day has got off to a better start!

SK28 · 09/09/2014 08:47

Good luck Henrietta - I am sure it's nothing to worry about, everyone is different and a small bump or not much weight gain for mama doesn't necessarily mean small baby, at least at this stage I wouldn't have thought? From other comments and photos on the FB group I think there are others amongst us who've also not put much on yet. Try to relax before the scan (easier said than done, I know!) and fingers crossed the sonographer gives you the reassurance you need :)

HenriettaTurkey · 09/09/2014 08:49

Oh and my other anxiety is that today I will be asking PALS to change my consultant. When I asked the one I am under currently about my request for an ELCS if my health went downhill at 39 weeks like last time his response was pretty shocking.

Gems included: "But you'll have a 10 inch scar"

"You won't be able to drive for 3 months" (NOT true!)

...and the best one: "Who will look after your husband and toddler?" Erm...DH will look after me and DS, thank you very much.

He also dismissed my concerns about my due date being midwinter, the fact that I live in a Yorkshire village up a steep hill next to a moor, and the fact that my labour last time was super speedy, with "Well it didn't snow last year"

So clearly if I'm stranded behind a snow drift when my waters break that'll just be super unlucky...

But I still feel guilty about requesting a change, even though a mental health counsellor recommended it, and am not naive enough to think there'll be a consultant who'll actually treat me like an intelligent woman. Hey ho.

HenriettaTurkey · 09/09/2014 08:52

Oh SK28 good luck finding the diamond! How stressful and emotional for you...

Thank you for the support. I know I'm being silly, but hormones are all over the place right now, and apparently I'm suffering chronic anxiety. These are the days it rears its ugly head, sadly.

At least my app isn't late in the day!

SK28 · 09/09/2014 09:07

You're not being silly at all. Worries are natural. I'm an anxious person too so can only imagine how difficult things like this seem if you suffer from chronic anxiety.

SK28 · 09/09/2014 09:08

And I was a mess this morning searching for the stone from my ring - look a state arriving late for work and tear-stained! Hormones and stress affect us all Wink

Saraswati · 09/09/2014 10:24

Good luck henrietta don't worry about your weight gain, when I had bad ms my mw said they only worry about baby being small if you lose more than 5% of your pre-pregnancy weight and even that depends on your starting bmi. Scanxiety is natural and especially if you're contending with an anxiety condition already, it must be really hard for you.

Sorry about your ring SK and don't hesitate about changing your consultant, he sounds like an arse!

I got my MatB1 form yesterday so started looking at the form for my maternity allowance today (i dont qualify for smp from my employer) argh it doesn't look too complicated but my foggy pregnancy brain can't compute it! Our nice hr lady said she'd help me though :) Got aquanatal again tonight then dinner with DH afterwards so should be a nice day!

24+4 today :)

Loobyloo893 · 09/09/2014 11:54

Good luck Henrietta. Try not to worry about the weight. I've only put on half a stone so far. With DS I lost half a stone at the beginning and was only just back to my pre-pregnancy weight at 21 weeks. The mw weren't worried at all. DS ended up being 8lb4 so not a small baby at all.
