Loobyloo893 · 04/09/2014 18:15

Haha kate. I'm here!

Saw midwife today for blood pressure check. All ok and got to hear heartbeat Smile realised that next week is the only week I won't see a mw or consultant until baby is born! They're going to be sick of the sight of me.

Everyone else ok today?

Yay hi looby! It was getting spooky in here haha. And yay for a week off!!! ? and yay for heartbeat! How fast was it do you know?

Loobyloo893 · 04/09/2014 18:27

Oh I didn't ask, I'm always so relieved to hear it I forgot lol. She was so lovely though, let DS put the gel on and hold the Doppler once she had found HB. I've been lucky with lovely midwives so far this time.

Right, time to get DS in bath and to bed, probably won't be far behind him tonight Smile

KateTheHuman · 04/09/2014 18:40

Aww bless that's so sweet!!!! :-)

rumisyum · 04/09/2014 19:03

Hellllllllllloooooooooooooooooo ladies!

I've missed a lot while on me hols! Before I go catch up, here's a little sample of the joys to come for those of us who are parenting newbies. Grin

littlemisswornout · 04/09/2014 21:03

deuscat · 04/09/2014 21:36

Kate I want the silvercross pioneer in green. But DH wants to be sensible and go for black, so will probably end up doing that! How about you?

deuscat · 04/09/2014 21:37

Posted too soon. I'm noticing my bump has grown a lot this week all of a sudden. I'm getting more comments on it now and thankfully all nice ones.

So tired, I'm in bed already. Feeling baby kicking!

Morning ladies! Glad lots of you are feeling your wiggly babies! I seem to have a very wiggly baby here... went to choir rehearsal last night and since getting home baby has been very active and is again this morning!

We are going out tomorrow evening for my mum's 60th birthday & I'm designated driver! Might treat myself to a small glass of bubbles when we get home (if I'm not too tired)!

Any exciting plans for the weekend for anyone?

Loobyloo893 · 05/09/2014 08:53

Morning all

Madrigals, we have same problem. My mum is 4hrs away, but nearest family and DS knows her best out of all our family. I have some friends who would take him until she can get here which is good. Chances are I'll either be induced or have a section though so will hopefully have a little bit more warning for her.

Cheshire, I had a wriggly baby last night. He didn't stop from about 7-9pm. Was lovely. He's been quiet this morning though but I feel him much more wen I'm lying down and I did spend all of last evening sobbing out in sofa watching tv lol. It's so nice that they're all starting to wriggle around a bit. And for those who are they it won't be long now Grin

deus I want it in green or sand. Well i want it in green and hubby wants it in sand. I think we'll have to see both colours in the flesh before we make up our mind.

Weighed myself this morning! Oops! Up to 10lbs gained. I'm sure I'd only gained 6lbs by last week! Time to put the cake down! Haha.

little I'm sure I still don't look pregnant just fat! I think I rub my tummy in public just to let people know there's a baby in there not just blubber!

Rum I'm now on the gaviscon after two lots of acid reflux. I didn't even know what it was. So horrible! I'm getting a lot of indegestion problems at the moment. Once again Kate...put down the cake!!! ;-)

cheshire enjoy the meal out! I'm going to see Wicked again tomorrow as it's the last day. Can't wait!!

IT'S ONLY BLOOMIN FRIDAY!! YAY!!!!

Morning, all. < yaaaaaaaaaawns > Crikey, this heartburn malarkey is not fun. Anyone got any tips for managing it from previous pregnancies? Other than sitting upright & awake on the sofa at 3am till it eases?

I am so loving the wriggles. I'm starting to feel them in some quite funny/odd places as the little one gets bigger/stronger. Such a delightful and highly peculiar feeling, when they're aimed directly downwards. HmmConfusedGrinWink

rumisyum · 05/09/2014 09:07

Gaviscon, eh, Kate? Do you take it before bed? Sorry to hear this has struck you too. I was really surprised by how painful it is! So far mine has only struck at night when I'm lying flat. I guess I need to adjust what/when I eat as well. Ugh, so dull.

Saraswati · 05/09/2014 09:38

Gaviscon is the business, I take a pre-emptive dose most nights as I always get woken up with heartburn but don't have it much before I go to bed. Also a peppermint tea before bed helps (but doesn't hep the old bladder, its a balancing act!)

I can now see baby moving through my clothes which is freaky! I noticed it last night, before I had only noticed the kicks when I was in the bath but I saw it through a jumper yesterday! I loves my little jesus already :)

24 weeks today! So I have officially reached viability, my brother was born at 29 weeks so prem labour is one of my fears. Nothing to suggest it'll happen to me but it feels good to have reached the point where my little one would have a chance if the worst happened (bit morbid for a fri morning!).

Anyone got nice weekend plans? I've got yoga tomorrow then friends staying, we are planning on lunch by the river then chilling in an old man pub, really wish I coudl have a nice ale but I'm looking forward to relaxing and catching up.

KateTheHuman · 05/09/2014 09:45

Rum I had it after dinner last night and felt so much better! Then a shifty swig before bed. Felt great!

KateTheHuman · 05/09/2014 09:47

Sara congrats on week 24!! :)

CallingAllEngels · 05/09/2014 10:24

Morning all. haven't been on much. back to school this week and has knocked me for 6. Bump feels so heavy and I'm really struggling getting from one classroom to another. Going to ask them to adjust my timetable. Won't be able to avoid moving sometimes though as teach 2 subjects, one of which needs a specialist classroom.

Mads sounds like you need to find a friend who can take DS until your DM gets there, like looby or have your DM camping out at your house for a few weeks.

We're lucky in that ILs are next door and retired, and BIL/SIL are only 5 mins away, though out of the 3 days DS is at home with DH or me, they're both working on 2. Chance DC2 might arrives while my DPs are visiting as well - hope so otherwise they'll have to head back to the UK and then come back. Hear that baby? You need to be on time!

Sounds like a lovely weekend saras . I will be sitting on the sofa. No plans or appointments made at all. Bliss! Though in reality, DH will be clearing out the baby room so I will be looking after DS Disney is my friend right now

I've put on 6kg so far kate (brain won't convert) and feel enormous. Mw reassured me that I'm measuring fine.

Where is my energy?! This was so much easier last time! Any other 2nd timers finding it tough this time round?

Deus I'm looking for anything fairly light and compact. I'm 5'2 and have steps to my front door and I have a small car. So far the bugaboo bee is top of my list cause you don't even need to buy a bassinet for it but I'm open to options if people have suggestions??

KateTheHuman · 05/09/2014 11:20

Omg i think bub is doing somersaults in there. Weird loopy feelings! Stop it bub! haha
