I've been taking Asprin since 12 weeks, it was prescribed to help blood few to the placenta. My 20 week scan is on the 17th, I then have another on 13th oct and every 4 weeks until birth around 37/38 weeks. All of my midwife appointments are in the hospital which is a bit of a pain with work.

ChineseFireball · 01/09/2014 21:39

My GTT is on 6 Oct. I'm having mine at the GP surgery which is just up the road from my house so a lot more convenient than going to the hospital! I have to take my own lucozade though Smile
There are a couple of outstanding friend requests for Jan Babies but they don't have messages to tell me who they are. If you've sent a friend request and not had it accepted please can you send a pm on FB to Jan Babies with your MN name in it and I'll sort it! I'm off on hols tomorrow for just over a week so if you PM KateTheHuman if you've not heard anything I think she can help you too. Hope that makes sense!

Morning all. What's GTT? I have a scan every four weeks now and have been on aspirin since 12 weeks because of high blood pressure. I have to see midwife every week to have bp checked.

I'm sooo tired this morning! I've not been sleeping very well anyway but woke up at 3 to a really tight, sore bump. It's fine now but freaked me out a bit. Starfish has been kicking this morning though so sure he's ok. And DS woke up at half 3, then 4, then 5 and finally got up at 6. Hmm Fingers crossed he has a good nap today and I can have a little sleep too x

cheshirem2b · 02/09/2014 08:05

The gtt is a gestational diabetes test. Don't worry Looby you may not have to have it if you're closely monitored.

I'm coping better with tiredness now I think. Not having naps after work but I'm waking up in the mornings still feeling sleepy so clearly I need more sleep!

better go to work. Enjoy your day ladies!

Morning ladies :) Back from holiday and ready for 20 week scan this afternoon. I think being away (busy time in Cyprus visiting dh's family) has kept me from feeling too nervous and hopefully backlog of work today will too...

Any other scans today?

Tried to keep up with FB group while I was away but I can see I've missed lots on here so will maybe take a coffee break from work mid-morning to catch up!

SK28 · 02/09/2014 08:16

Does everyone have the diabetes test thing? I've not heard of it, I have my 25 week appointment with my gp (they do that one with the gp rather than mw in my area) in a couple of weeks so I'll ask then.

good luck today sk

have a good holiday chinese

I've started to feel like I'm really slowing down, the second trimester glow has never materialised and I'm just knackered all the time, will mention it at my next appointment as I'm not sure if it's just normal pregnancy tiredness or not. I've still got a long way to go so I hope I don't feel like this until D day!!

I'm trying aquanatal for the first time tonight so hoping a bit of exercise gives me an energy boost. Its done in the warm hydrotherapy pool at the hospital by physios so hoping it will help with my aching back too! I had to buy a maternity swimming costume, argh, haven't worn a costume since I was about 10 (i'm a bikini girl) and its hideous! At least I'll be with other preggos and no skinny minnies :)

I'm having the GTT done on the 9th October because of my high BMI. Not everyone gets it. :)

HenriettaTurkey · 02/09/2014 09:55

I'll have the gtt but that's because my dm has diabetes.

I'm having GTT because of raised BMI. Don't think it's offered unless you have bmi or other history/medical reason to do it. It's a morning of work so I'm Ok with it! Grin

Keepontrudging · 02/09/2014 10:58

Whats gtt? I have an underactive thyroid and have not heart of this?

Looking at the NHS website I think you're offered the test if:

-you're overweight, with a BMI (body mass index) above 30
-you've given birth to a large baby, weighing more than 4.5kg (9.9lb), in the past
-you've had gestational diabetes before
-you have a parent, brother, sister or grandparent with diabetes

RPopz · 02/09/2014 11:50

Glucose Tolerance Test not done routinely as said previously - unless certain risk factors present. Or you start measuring massive for your dates!

Feeling you on the maternity swim wear Saras haha! I got one for holidays from asos.... DH's face was a picture! Hmm But needs must, and I can use it for aquanatal when we get back.

Loobyloo893 · 02/09/2014 12:02

Ah good to know we're not missing out on something Smile
my lovely mum bought me a tankini from mothercare as I was falling out of my bikini top! I much prefer it to a full swimsuit. I'd love to do aqua natal but there's nothing near me. Taking DS to his swimming lessons doesn't have quite the same effect Grin

KateTheHuman · 02/09/2014 12:20

Oh dear. Just got an email from Dominsos for two for Tuesday. Now I want pizza! Argh!

KateTheHuman · 02/09/2014 12:20

Dominos even!

Saraswati · 02/09/2014 13:19

thanks guys, I don't need it then, didn't want to miss out on a test though!! lol

My swimming costume is halterneck and my boobs look like actual udders in it, rpopz DH laughed at me too, I think he laughs at my boobs everyday. I'm falling out of my E cups now, need to go bra shoping again but if I have to buy an F cup I'll cry. I started off as a relatively most 32 D/DD and I've gone up a back size too :(

When do they start measuring our tummies? I'm weirdly looking forward to it for some reason!

SK28 · 02/09/2014 13:26

I was in a bikini a month ago and felt ok but not great. So for our hols last week I bought a tankini (mamalicious for new look) and felt so much better - not quite a one-piece but more modest than a bikini!
