Glad to read talk on sleeping arrangements. I've been looking at the bedside cots, but I'm not sure yet as they're expensive and there isn't much choice - the models I've seen have mixed reviews. (Mostly positive but a few flaws).

Been feeling a dry throat, mostly in the evenings. I feel like I want to cough, but I can't satisfactorily. Just keep clearing my throat.

I'm also finding it harder to get out of bed. I mean physically... to sit up from lying down. These are small things of course. I'm feeling good generally. :)

Finally... I'm a bit embarrassed to bring this one up, but my DH is finding the bump a turn-off now. Other things feel different to him too. He doesn't feel attracted to my body how it is now. :( I'm trying to understand, but part of me feels rejected because I'm still me. My libido's gone up a bit from the hormones, so it's difficult. :( I do feel a bit guilty acting on it though, even though advice says it's fine. Anyone else going through similar?

In happier news, my 20w scan was all fine. Phew! And it's a girl! Grin

RPopz · 31/08/2014 14:09

Aw Hello - that must've been hard to hear. My DH is very restrained about sex atm too. I had some investigations for suspected short cervix at the beginning of pregnancy and he's really taken that to heart. He is rather erm, well endowed, and he has hit me in the cervix before (painfully!) and so that seems to be worrying him. We haven't been medically advised to avoid sex and I've explained to him he can't really do any damage... plus my hormones are a-raging. So it is a little frustrating but hey ho. I don't think the bump is bothering him though I've not asked. He's certainly happy about the new boob situation anyway haha! X

RPopz · 31/08/2014 14:12

In fact I've been away for the past couple of nights so got home this morning ready to ravish him only to be sheepishly informed he'd already "seen to himself" this morning haha! Hmm

HelloMist · 31/08/2014 15:49

Thanks, Rpopz, glad to hear I'm not alone in feeling like this, though I'm sorry to hear you have to put up with it too. I think the bump is just the most noticeable change, one that reminds him I'm really pregnant. He's a bit scared of hurting me in sex, like your DH. The bigger boobs are a plus side, yes! :)

Aww, sorry he said that to you! I have to say, I take things into my own hands as well though now, when I get desperate. BlushWink

Mine's sort of retreated into computer games ("I won't be able to play as often when the baby's here") so we don't even get to talk as much lately. :( i feel a bit unappreciated and ignored. We did have the Bank Holiday weekend away together though, and another holiday earlier in the month, so things are still good when we do get proper time together.

I've told him how I feel. Confused I hope things will improve soon, somehow.

blizy · 31/08/2014 17:10

Sex? I think I remember what it is. Dh doesn't want to have sex at all, he is terrified of something going wrong with baby (I can't really blame him given our history), he knows it's an irrational fear but refuses to have sex Sad.

cheshirem2b · 31/08/2014 17:49

DH is terrified of hurting baby here as well. He "tried" last week but he's so worried about squashing bump or doing damage inside to baby that his hearts not really in it. He's become more touchy feely though, kissing bump, striking my back in bed etc which is lovely. Men eh?!

RPopz · 31/08/2014 17:52

Haha I just laughed to be honest Hello - he looked so sheepish lol! And he said he was expecting me to come home and be shattered which is fair enough. Still had big cuddles so all was not lost Smile

RPopz · 31/08/2014 17:54

Hope you get things sorted soon though. It's a difficult thing to discuss and they can get so defensive. Hugs x

HelloMist · 31/08/2014 18:06

Thanks Rpopz, blizy and Cheshire. :)

Rpopz it's good it just made you laugh! Laughs are probably just as important. I'll try to gently remind DH that even talking and cuddling would go a long way right now. :)

LadyCottington · 31/08/2014 21:05

Whoops, haven't been on here for a while. Have to admit the Facebook group is a bit more convenient. Hello to all the new people!

We'll be buying a snuzpod and I'm definitely planning on having baby in our room for the first 6 months. I really wanted to order it soon as our first big purchase but our flat is a mess after just having moved in so it will have to wait a while.

Bump seems have had a growth spurt over night and DH has had fun singing to it (why does it have to be 'in the jungle'?!) but I wonder if it will put him off sex. It's getting a bit uncomfortable for me to be honest and with my asthma being bad at the moment, I have trouble breathing!

Any one else had their nipples go dark purple? Scared the crap out of me this morning until I googled it. They're also sore. Not something I thought I'd ever talk about on the internet Shock

RPopz · 31/08/2014 21:16

They are darker but not purple.... Is this something to look forward to!? Shock

ReadyForDinner · 31/08/2014 21:43

Ive had the sore purple tinged nips over the last few days too Lady C! Im 22+3.

Pesto11 · 31/08/2014 22:29

My asthma is terrible at the moment
I wake up unable to breathe properly every night.
Always spend a while taking inhaler and sitting upright at 3am!
Should see my doc or midwife really...

ChineseFireball · 01/09/2014 07:13

I'm not purple nippled but they are itchy and sort of chapped. I had this last time too. Plus I have to be careful in peanut shops so I don't get stopped for shoplifting.
DH isn't hugely impressed with the body changes and doesn't bond with the bump but he's always been an arse-and-legs man so it's not really been an issue in the bedroom. He's thought it was Christmas a couple of times though when I've had a week of extremely racy dreams! Last night was all about the tyrannosaur, though - sorry, dear Grin

Last day at work today before our holidays commence! Better get upanatem.

23+3 team yellow (ps that means it's 16 weeks 3 days until Christmas...!)

Morning all. Wow I'm so tired! Had amazingly disturbing dreams last night about being out swimming at sea when there's a storm, one of my cats struggling out of my arms and running away forever, and doing some kind of ritual with this little kid where we cut our eyeballs out and teeth and other stuff. Ended with the kid's parents trying to kill me with a machine gun. Stupid brain.

22+4

Keepontrudging · 01/09/2014 08:29

Morning Kate! I had a dream my boy was ready to be born - woke feeling rather dissapoibted I STILL have another 18+ weeks ... Not too long mind you :) plus if I have c sec it's more likely to be around 17 weeks... ARGH!!!

How's about you lot?

KateTheHuman · 01/09/2014 09:04

Morning Keep! 17 weeks doesn't sound long at all!! I'm nearly 23 weeks so same as you. Arrgh! Definitely need to finish clearing the nursery out. I can't wait til the nursery is done. I wanna buy stuff and have it in the house haha

cheshirem2b · 01/09/2014 11:27

I've ordered the nursery wall stickers today! So exciting!

Went for my ante-natal clinic today. Because my BMI is raised I get an extra 2 scans to see baby (and GTT... yuk) but all appointments are now booked. Dr said today that based on the 20 week scan they aren't worried about anything and happy to be midwife led at this stage but will keep an eye on me in case that changes.

Back in work now... boring... hope everyone else has a good Monday!

KateTheHuman · 01/09/2014 12:11

cheshire Ooh i've been looking at those stickers too! great minds! And sounds like you're the same as me scanwise. I've got my GTT on 9th October then growth scan on 10th then another scan in november i think.

Welshwabbit · 01/09/2014 12:33

Hello everyone, haven't been on for ages. Have now had my 20 week scan (at 21 weeks) and today went for an additional scan as the small person's kidneys seemed to be draining a bit slowly. All within normal limits today, but they want to check again at 32 weeks. They have also (finally!) picked up on the fact that in my last pregnancy I had high BP (although not pre-eclampsia) so checked my uterine arteries, which look fine apparently, and prescribed me aspirin for the remainder of my pregnancy just in case. I have an appointment with the consultant now too, just to check all is OK, and feel a lot happier now that they are checking everything, even though my BP seems fine this time round.

Hope everything is going well for everyone else. I'm going to look back through the thread now!

22+4

cheshirem2b · 01/09/2014 12:47

Kate I have my GTT on 10 Oct, scan and clinic on 13 Oct and then again on 24 Nov. Extra sneak peaks at the little one is fine by me! Smile

Welsh glad they are looking after you this time around! Hope it all continues that way for you. I'm also on aspirin until baby arrives which doesn't bother me and I will do what I need to do to keep baby safe and well.

KateTheHuman · 01/09/2014 12:49

Cheshire I know right! I'm so happy to get more looks at bub.

Welshwabbit · 01/09/2014 12:52

Thanks cheshire, I was on aspirin throughout the last pregnancy and was slightly surprised I didn't get put on it again! Comes of having a bank midwife who arrives an hour late for your booking appointment... I also like having the extra scans, although it can be a pain with work.

sleepisforthetired · 01/09/2014 15:59

Seem to have been longer than I remember since I commented on this thread - had to actually look for it as wasn't on "threads I am on".

All ok here, weekend was lovely and only have to get through this week before little week down to West Country next week (YAY!!)

Kate Hope you sorted things with your mum. As someone else sad everyone has an opinion (and some of them don't even have experience to back up their opinion). Just smile...

Someone (sorry rubbish memory!) said they had their 2.5 yr old on a sensor mat... my 3.5 is still on his Blush Will stop when I am ready, and not before despite the negative/teasing comments from the family

Final thought for the day - 115 days till Christmas - 155 bus, think this calls for cake :)
