Wow Kate that's amazing about finding your brother like that!

I love autumn and I also love Christmas. This year will be extra exciting because of the arrival of baby!

I've had a cold for a few days and I'm finally starting to feel better which is great. Still tired and have an itchy throat. Glad for an extra day off due to the bank hol. And then 20 weeks scan on Tuesday Smile

Morning ladies. Finding it hard to keep up on here at the moment.
I have my scan on Wednesday and scanxiety is definitely setting in! Doesn't help that DH is away all this week so don't even have him here to calm me down.

On a completely unrelated note I smell like an after eight this morning. Used a new minty shower gel and then rubbed cocoa butter on my bump. It's making me feel a bit queasy lol

Yay on the scan news kate and ralv and on the new brother! Wow!

ready on Saturday my eyes were firmly fixed on any buggy that went past me! Aghhh feel like a stalker when any parent with a buggy goes past!

I need to get a dream genii pillow- my back and sides were agony last night- ordering one today.

rum yes I spend my day moaning about my expanding tummy bum and thighs... So to make myself feel better I eat some chocolate ! Addicted to Pom bear crisps at the moment - really not helping the spotty face!

No plans for today- raining heavily here-might do some internet shopping- need to find buggy cot and other big purchases.
Also book some exercise classes!

Happy bank holiday all

Haha Pesto I've been a pram stalker for ages too haha! Need to stop looking now though since we've chosen one!

Minibagel · 25/08/2014 11:43

pesto you are not alone with the Pom bear addiction. I blame asda for having them on offer.

Scanxiety over here too. 4 sleeps to go til ours on Friday.

We chose the mothercare xpedior but I read mixed reviews and now I'm dithering again... Dh does not want to spend a fortune on it which I can understand- looking at graco Eco now...
That's another packet of Pom bears for breakfast! Hmm asda has them on offer you say...

jobrum · 25/08/2014 13:20

Oh my God, Pom Bears. I've been enjoying Walkers Ready Salted, why did I never think of Pom Bears!

Oh the rain... I've been suffering a migraine since yesterday afternoon and DH has been away since Saturday evening (yes, I do just want sympathy!). I have however managed to bake Nigel Slater's chocolate espresso cake in a floaty cocodamol fueled couple of hours after the pain got the better of me and now and just waiting for it to go cold so I can have a slice (wodge) with some clotted cream.

My scan is on Thursday morning. I am thinking now on taking the whole day off work to go out for some lunch to make up for this shitty weekend. The rain has got me wondering how many indoor activities children will put up with before they get bored. Nevermind planning the colour of the nursery, I think I'll start planning this!

me and dh have painted the nursery today! Just soft linen in colour as we don't know whether baby is pink or blue being on team yellow. We are opting for wall stickers in woodland animal theme so it's gender neutral. Now the blank canvas needs our stamp putting on it! cannot wait! Grin

RPopz · 25/08/2014 16:57

Today I am eating ALL THE THINGS!

deuscat · 25/08/2014 17:04

Rpopz enjoy all the eating!

Pesto I also stalk prams and pushchairs in public. We went shopping today (not baby related!) and I spotted a Bugaboo and a few iCandy's.

Scan tomorrow. So excited but also nervous!

I'm with you on the eating rpopz
We just had Pizza Hut for dinner... Mmm cheesy triangles... Mmm potato wedges... Oh dear trousers are tight...

HelloMist · 25/08/2014 23:14

I'm glad to see it's not just me with the eating. Since about 18 weeks it's been hard to keep myself from snacking... crisps and chocolate here too. I was quite good before that. Now I'm away for the bank holiday, and I've been far too well fed!

My scan's on Thursday. Excitement about finding out the gender is outweighing scanxiety for me, but there's always still a small worry, so I hope things are alright in there!

Back to work today after 2 weeks off...! I don't want to go to work today!Angry
ah well, this coming weekend is my last on call until after maternity leave and I've worked out I've got about 13 weeks in work until I take the last of my annual leave and then start my maternity leave! Grin
I hope you are all ok and Looby I hope you get a nap at some point!

rumisyum · 26/08/2014 08:06

Happy scan day today deuscat and anyone else!

Glad I'm not the only one being a bit contrary on the eating front. Wink Tho my pregnancy app thingummy tells me baby apparently grew by a whopping 10 cm between weeks 19 & 20 (I think this app MUST be wrong) Hmm but at least a growth spurt would make sense of the insane hunger.

Ahh, just figured it out. They suddenly switch from measuring baby's length crown to rump to crown to heel. That explains the massive leap in length. Oh well. < eats anyway >

We've had our pram parked up for weeks now but it hasn't stopped us stalking other people's. And playing guessing games to see how good we are at identifying brands now. We are officially sad.

HOLIDAZE! 3 weeks of eating ALL THE THINGS and maybe taking the odd sight-seeing stroll in between. Wink I realised last night that by the time I'm back at work I'll practically be 6 months pregnant! Which seems like a LOT pregnant! Shock After the first trimester dragged like a mofo, this bit seems to be just speeeeeeeeeeding by.

Good luck back at work today cheshire! And I'm v envious of all you lot with mat leave looming so close. I've got my mat leave countdown calendar on the go now, tho. Very satisfying. Grin

Saraswati · 26/08/2014 08:44

Good luck to all those with scans today!

I'm skiving work today as I just feel quite weird, can't put my finger on it but feel sick and fainty (not unusual) but also quite crampy. It's not painful so I don't think it's anything sinister and Jesus is kicking me in there but I just felt like I wanted to rest so I'm giving in to my body. I had a terrible nights sleep too so I don't think that helped.

We have decided on the joolz day pram and the snuzpod bedside crib, now just need to decide when to order, there is an offer on the snuzpod on natural baby shower at the moment so think I'll order that first. DH doesn't want to order the pram just yet, but I'm so excited to get started on the big stuff! We've decided on a colour for the nursery so will get that painted over the next couple of weekends. It's all beginning to feel very real now!

cheshirem2b · 26/08/2014 10:22

We ordered the cot bed and snuzpod yesterday due to sales so they should both arrive this week! hurray!
Saras - I was worried that ordering now was too soon but we couldn't let the brilliant offers go by without us taking advantage! Wink

sleepisforthetired · 26/08/2014 12:33

I suddenly realised I am not seeing midwife until 27 weeks, or the consultant until 24th week (but not sure if they would issue my MAT 1B) so had to make an appointment just to get one.

Midwife is fully booked until 25th week which is too late, so took an appointment with GP. Receptionist said "you realise they need to examine you and its a male doctor?".

Now, am I being daft or have I missed something - but its only (at most) going to be a quick poke of the belly surely? Because when I said this was fine, you would have thought I had agree to all sorts of naughtiness with her favourite GP to be filmed and shown on the BBC as a back drop to the breakfast news (either this or I am being hyper-sensitive at judgey breath in-takes today)

Sleep I'm not getting my MAT1B from my midwife until 22/9 when I am 25 weeks - are you planning on finishing work early?

EmmaJan2015 · 26/08/2014 14:06

Hi all,

Hope everyone's scans and appointments all go well this week.

Just had a quick look at the snuzpod mentioned, I think we'll go for something like that for the first 6 months as our bedroom is quite long and narrow so it would be a bit of a squeeze to fit a full sized cot next to our bed.

Now looking at travel systems/prams in the John Lewis baby catalogue. Have gone round in circles and cannot decide between about 8! I guess I need to take a look in a shop and have a play around with them.

Have (mostly) had a lovely weekend away and have been able to tell quite a few friends our news since we've been back which has been great and almost everyone has been so pleased. Even the owner of our local Chinese take away got quite tearful last night when we told her! Just a couple of niggles...one person we know from our local pub grabbed my stomach a week or so ago to jokingly see if I was pregnant as she'd noticed I hadnt been drinking wine. We had to tell her then and she promised not to blab, turned out everyone in our local pub knows and has done for a week or so. So we never got the excitement of telling that group of friends as they already knew. Very very annoyed Angry

Also, we told two of our best friends yesterday - a couple who have also been ttc for a couple of years. They didn't have the best reaction and it was a little awkward. It also took us a couple of years to conceive (eventually clomid which worked for us straight away) so I do know how they feel. I just hope that once the shock wears off they can be happy for us. We've certainly been there for them through all sorts in the past.

Raaaahhhhh! Sorry for the essay! OH is working away today/tonight and I needed to talk/rant somewhere!

Hope you feel better soon Sara.
