Good luck with the rescans today!
sara my ribs were killing me yesterday
When I had my scan I was surprised at where the baby's feet were positioned- right under my ribs, while her head was below my belly button
The sonographer said it's called rib flare as everything is shifting and moving about.
Yesterday evening I couldn't sit, lie or stand still due to the pain -(makes a change to a week ago when I was panicking that I couldn't feel a thing!!!)
I ended up walking around my room rubbing my ribs! Think there's a bruise forming!

Dh just left for work saying 'make sure you've decided what you want to do for the weekend... ' Agghhh... I don't know

He wants to go to the zoo- that'll be fine with pregnancy won't it?
So either whipsnade of London zoo on Saturday
We have a family thing on Sunday
And then need to plan something for Monday... Any ideas? In or around London...
Anyone been to Brighton beach? Any good?

ReadyForDinner · 22/08/2014 09:02

A trip to the zoo sounds fab! We are the other end of the country but Chester zoo is brilliant, though bank hol, it will be mobbed. We went when I was about 7mnts last time and it ended up being more about buggy spotting than animals. We sat watching the uppa babies and the oysters in their natural environment Grin

We are going to a wedding this weekend. Festival style. Camping until Monday. Dm has Dd for the weekend. I am so excited though I was planning on being much drunker it feels like we are going on holiday! Just awaiting giant breakfast cooked by dh. Today is a good day!

Good luck scans and rescans. Have great bank holidays everyone!

KateTheHuman · 22/08/2014 10:10

Thank you guys! Hopefully this is the last scan til 28 weeks!! :)

Good luck Vivi! Mine's at 12:20 so leaving work at half 11. Whoop! Lets hope our bubs aren't being naughty today! xx

EmmaJan2015 · 22/08/2014 10:47

Good luck with the scans/rescans today.

Ready - i've not been to Chester zoo in ages. It's only an hour or so from us, may have to go again soon.

No rib pain here but I have noticed that i'm getting a few spots. I've not had those in a good few years. Where is the glowing skin i've been promised?!

We're finally telling our parents tonight and i'm so excited. We held off for a bit as I was so worried about scans and tests etc that I just wanted to know everything was ok before we told everyone. We've decided not to make any big announcement on FB but will tell friends and extended family over the next few weeks as we see them. Can't hide it much longer anyway - and i'm getting fed up of baggy tops, I want to show this bump off!

rumisyum · 22/08/2014 10:55

Morning! Sniggering over here at groin passions and C*NT classes. Grin Mind you, I signed up for the classes at about 12 weeks, so I'm clearly a readymade. Wink

Welcome newbies! And hurrah for happy scan news! Is anyone keeping a tally on these team pinks/blues/yellows? Should we do an update on what gender of little one we're having? (If we plan to share the news at this stage, obvs.) And good luck to those having their scans today!

Emma we bought our pram already cause we got a good deal 2nd hand. And I keep buying adorable baby clothes then I can't help myself (I need to be banned from BabyGap, I swear). We also got a bouncer, again 2nd hand. Otherwise, we're being given a cot, highchair, possibly Moses basket. A friend bought us a steriliser, which was very kind of them. I feel like the Big purchases left are a car seat, pump, baby carrier and cloth nappies. And possibly a monitor? Feels manageable - am I deluded?

It's the husband's birthday today so he's getting treated to a fancy dinner tonight. (I've even got a date dress that fits!) And I should get my arse off t'internets and bake his cake. Otherwise, hanging with some friends tomorrow and then doing NADA for the other 2 days, thank goodness. And then I"m off work for a few weeks! Grin Get in!

19+3 and Team Yellow!

EmmaJan2015 · 22/08/2014 11:18

Wow rum, you've got loads already! I've started a list which grows almost daily. I have a feeling our parents will buy some of the bigger items too.

No baby clothes bought yet but i'm sure i'll be tempted to start looking soon.

Enjoy your dinner out tonight.

We're off to the lakes tomorrow for the long weekend. Obviously the baby will need me to eat some sticky toffee pudding from Cartmel Grin. How many times will I utter the words 'baby needs it' to husband during this pregnancy I wonder?!

Better go and think about packing. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

KateTheHuman · 22/08/2014 11:37

On my way. Drinking ice cold diet coke. Feeling more nervous than I should.

ViviPru · 22/08/2014 12:00

C*NT class Grin

KateTheHuman · 22/08/2014 12:51

Arteries are fine! And we saw baby's face! And got a pic! It was doing back flips! Hee. Had it's feet over it's head and it's bum in the air!

Camsie30 · 22/08/2014 13:05

Anyone else noticed their belly button changing yet? Mine seems to be getting shallower by the day...!

rumisyum · 22/08/2014 13:07

Hurrah Kate! Smile

Yep Camsie, mine will be nonexistent shortly, I reckon!

I am all about the cheap pregnancy lolz lately.

jobrum · 22/08/2014 13:14

Hi everyone! First post on here. Due mid January, 19 weeks and have my second scan next Thursday. I've just this week grown alarmingly outwards and now look proper pregnant! One thing I am suffering from is frequent migraines, linked most likely to oestrogen so will continue. A couple of acupuncture sessions every few weeks are keeping them at bay - I go back when they reach the frequency of two a week. I'd really like to hear if anyone else is suffering with these as I know they are rare after the first trimester.

Saraswati · 22/08/2014 13:18

rum that has made my afternoon! proper lolz. I'm sat at work with a wheat bag wrapped around my ribs feeling miserable and that has properly cheered me up :)

RPopz · 22/08/2014 13:19

I hear ya Camsie!! Bit worried its going to pop out already!! Confused

jobrum · 22/08/2014 14:17

Camsie30 saw your post about black maternity jeans. I tried Dorothy Perkins skinny jeans but were very big for size with absolutly huge legs! Like parachute pants! New Look ones are great, under bump and slightly generous sizes; Im usually a 10 or 12 and 10s perfect. They look very cottony too and Ive work mine to work some days with a smart top.

ViviPru · 22/08/2014 14:37

Oh Rum I just sat and watched the first one over and over! I cold watch it all day!

Hi jobrum! guessing you're midlands based by the sounds of it - there's quite a few of us on the bus.

My friend just gave me her Dreamgenii. Bloody glad I didn't spank £45 on a new one! Bit less substantial than I was expecting but very glad of the kind donation.

ilovelamp78 · 22/08/2014 16:22

Hello newbies and de-lurkers! Lots of exciting scan action going on. Whoa emma from 12 to 16 weeks in one day! Absolutely mental! Welcome to January! Camsie I've still got a very deep belly button- gives me this two stage bump as I've spread a bit above my belly too. It looks a bit weird to be honest!!!

ralv · 22/08/2014 16:25

Hey everyone... I'm new around here...
Had my 20 week scan yesterday... was nearly in tears I was so nervous (I'm a worrier)... but everything was the right shape and size and we are having a boy!! So excited!!

KateTheHuman · 22/08/2014 20:10

So talk about an emotional day. Not only did I see bub, I was contacted by my biological brother. He found me after a 10 year search. I gave up searching for my bio family years ago. I'm in shock. Haven't stopped shaking. Chatting to him on facebook now. Just so surreal!

Camsie30 · 22/08/2014 21:05

Wow Kate, how extraordinary. Very emotional indeed x

KateTheHuman · 22/08/2014 21:46

I don't think it's sunk in yet. It's too surreal.x

Keepontrudging · 22/08/2014 22:05

What a wonderful day Kate! How lovely x

Keepontrudging · 22/08/2014 22:06

Welcome ralv - and congrats! :) x

ViviPru · 22/08/2014 23:24

Oh Kate what an intense day! Massive congrats though.

Hi Ralv!

All is well with Prulet, measurements and heart all sorted at rescan. Placenta's not shifted but then it seems the uterus hasnt really expanded yet, I've barely any bump and the fidget is very scrunched up. Maybe the placenta will move when the whole thing decides to expand eventually!!

ChineseFireball · 23/08/2014 07:25

Oh wow Kate that's a lot to take in! Was it totally out of the blue that your DB contacted you or had you had any sort of heads-up?

Hello to all the newbies and de-lurkers Smile

Rumis hope you had a lovely evening with your DH. Is there a column on the stats doc for sex of progeny? I didn't link the doc when I started the thread - is anyone else able to do it or has it been done and I've missed it?

Does anyone else have the autumn tingles? When there is a hint of chill in the air and it starts to smell different? I know it's still August but I'm starting to feel autumny (am I alone? Am I a loon?Smile ). And then it will soon be Christmas. And then there will be babies!

But first I have a lovely holiday in a week and a half and the met office says it's currently sunny and 27°C there. That will do nicely thank you Grin

22+1 (omg)
