Baby's perfect! All is as it should be. And I get a bonus scan at 36 weeks to monitor a fibroid which is tiny & seemingly not growing but has everyone's panties in a twist, so yay for bonus scans!

I did nearly faint on the way home after my scan & had to sit, swooning on the side of the road, while a bunch of passers-by tutted at me & the husband. Guess I was really scanxious! Currently being revived on the sofa with tea & - is it too early for cake? (It's never too early for cake, is it?) Will catch properly once suitably restored.

Good luck today scan twin Mad!

Loobyloo893 · 19/08/2014 09:54

Aw fantastic rum Grin are you team yellow? It's definitely not too early for cake! It's never too early for cake.

rumisyum · 19/08/2014 09:58

Team yellow FTW!

Morning all

Little tip from me you may or may not be aware of - If you download the Mothercare app to your phone and accept push notifications, you receive £10 off a £50 spend (details are on the website). I did it yesterday and made my first purchase since all well with the 20 wk scan, another (very active) little girl Smile
Lovely to hear everyone else's scan news. Good luck those going today!

blizy and roserpuge I'm 17 weeks today so like you I feel behind others but they are just paving the way.

sunshine that photo is soooo cute :-)

I keep thinking the same minibagel then I'm dressing to make sure I look properly bumpy. Except today when we're meeting the mortgage lenders when I'm trying to just look fat!

Just had scan 6 of the pregnancy. Bleeding still hasn't stopped. Baby completely fine. They finally looked at my cervix and saw it was red raw with open blood vessels. Got a colposcopy appointment to check it out but it's a relief to know where the blood is coming from.

Babysprout · 19/08/2014 11:08

Great news on the scan rum and thanks for the tip scoobs Smile

rumisyum · 19/08/2014 12:30

Oh, what a relief to finally have the source of the bleeding identified Sprout. Hope all's well with the colposcopy appt (and the mortgage lenders!)

Mad hope you're feeling a bit calmer today & getting good news at your scan. How awful for your poor DSis!

Hellooooooo all you 16 weekers! Don't be shy! I swear I'm going to be hanging about pregnant as anything till 42 weeks and I'll want some company. Nevermind all these cheeky sods with their late December due dates clogging up the front of the bus. Join in! Chat away! The more the merrier. Wink Grin

Ahhhh, I can feel baby kicking/wriggling away like anything today! I think s/he must like scans. Or cake. Taking well after mama there. SmileCake

counting down to 3.10 (although who really knows with the NHS!)
Still excited and staying team yellow :)

Any anxiety slipping in am beating back with "nice" thoughts. Currently how to make lemon flavour butter icing without google... today will be a good day - I can worry again tomorrow!

Good news on scan Rum :)

And glad you have an answer BabySprout. Hopefully now they can sort it

KateTheHuman · 19/08/2014 12:41

I'm convinced series 3 of OBEM is the best. (Marathoning the archives here.) Water births, the midwife giving birth in the hospital where she works, the twin vaginal delivery. I'll be dehydrated from all the sobbing when I'm done with it.

ViviPru · 19/08/2014 16:32

:p

RPopz · 19/08/2014 19:51

Sprout Will they do a colposcopy when you're preg??

2 sleeps until scan day!

deuscat · 19/08/2014 22:14

Lovely scan news all round Smile

Mads I can't believe that happened to your DSis. How awful!

Babysprout glad to hear you're getting answers finally.

Newbies always welcome! The more the merrier!

Heartburn is doing my head in. I've been using Rennies but I think I need to upgrade to gaviscon. Any tips?

Pesto11 · 19/08/2014 22:33

mad glad your dn and dsis are fine
What a stressful time

sleepisforthetired · 20/08/2014 08:31

Just checking in quickly - everything fine with the scan so we are very happy. Baby being cheeky at the end so picture was not the best profile view, however the scan itself was very clear, pic was right at the end after a lot of prodding trying to see the heart so no wonder baby had had enough!
Baby wouldn't cooperate during the scan and kept turning just at the wrong moment however all measurements done and appears ok :)

Anyone know what "AC" on the measurements stands for?

rumisyum · 20/08/2014 09:03

Hurrah for happy scans, scan twins! Grin So pleased you didn't get messed about like your DSis, Mad!

I am knackered this am! Went out with lady friends in That London last night, and ended up having celebratory (mock)cocktails at the Savoy. I'm so vair posh, dahling! Wink But after getting home at half-past midnight I am also so vair wrecked.

rumisyum · 20/08/2014 09:13

Also, I don't know what it is about scans, but I can feel the little one LOADS more all of a sudden. Right now it feels like s/he's trying to thump the cat off my lap. Which makes sense because I'm trapped under the warm, purring cat rather wanting some breakfast. Grin

Babysprout · 20/08/2014 10:49

rpopz it was the senior mwife at early pregnancy unit who referred me. She assured me it was safe and I've had a google and it seems it's safe. I'm hoping if the bleeding has stopped by then they might not have to as the internal exam was painful enough.

Saraswati · 20/08/2014 11:49

great scan news sleep good luck to any others having scans today!

I just had my consultant's appointment - all fine and have been signed off for the mw led unit woohoo! So now I just have mw appointments as normal and won't need to see a consultant again unless I have a problem. He even gave us a cheeky scan and we saw Jesus having a little disco dance :)

As we were sat in the waiting room, in walks my friend just after her 12 week scan! She had two nasty miscarriages last year, one ectopic, so she and her dp were beaming and I couldn't be happier for her! She lives just down the road from me as well so will be nice to have a friend who's a few weeks behind me :)

All in all a very good day so far! :)

sunshineandbiscuits · 20/08/2014 12:28

Lovely to hear mad, sleep and rum's good scan news from yesterday. It always brings a smile to my face Smile. Do we have any scans today?

saras that is good news about your consultant appointment and lovely news about your friend. Funnily enough, we met an old university friend in the waiting room for our 8wk scan who was having her 12wk scan, also after a previous miscarriage. We've got back in touch as a result with is nice as we don't live far apart and will have babies around the same time.

We signed up for NCT classes yesterday. We are planning on doing the signature course but spread over two (long) Saturdays and one evening, rather than the one with 5 evening sessions as this fits much better with our respective work schedules. Has anyone else does this for previous DCs?

20wks today!

Dec2013mummy · 20/08/2014 12:49

Morning all. Haven't posted for a few days but have been keeping up (or at least trying to).
20 week scan at 2.30. Congrats to everyone who has had good scan news recently and hi to all the newbies :)
We aren't finding out the sex, much to Dh's dismay.
I feel so ill today though, it's driving me mad. Have been really sick and feel all achey and cold, like I have the flu. Glad I have the scan later to check all is ok.
Had a stressful few days, I trying to move house!!

Dec2013mummy · 20/08/2014 12:50

Oops, it's afternoon.... Where did that time go?!
Also was supposed to say hate trying to move!
