Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

It completely sucks that you can't have an early scan based on previous mc's, I wouldn't be against telling a white lie in that instance if you're genuinely worried about the pregnancy. It's the women who lie just to get another scan, i've also heard of people later in pregancy saying they've had a fall just to get scanned again Hmm

I had to wait 5 hours at our local maternity unit while I was mc'ing last time, bleeding heavily and having to sit in the same room as heavily pregnant women was awful, I was about to just walk out a few times but they insisted I stayed.

persepolis123 · 07/08/2014 10:18

Keeper yes it was me. Your DH's situation sounds awful. Is he in any kind of union? Is his boss like that with others or just him? I really don't understand why people enjoy making others lives a misery.

Yesterday was a big step forward but we still have a way to go. They are allowing DP back to work and have apologised in writing for how he has been treated but we think they are expecting him to go back and work for the same manager who caused all the problems. It's not going to happen. We will have the stress hanging over us wondering what story he will concoct next. If they refuse to discipline him or move him then we will take it further. I could really do without it but no way are they getting away with treating him like they have.

KeeperOfTheZoo · 07/08/2014 11:09

No, no union. Yes the boss does treat other people badly too but he definitely has it in for DH more than most. He blames him for literally everything. There was a huge cock-up that came to light last week with an order that was placed on 12th May which DH was "entirely responsible for" - even when DH pointed out that we were in Majorca that week so he wasn't even there and had nothing to do with it, it was still his fault. We think this guy has an alcohol problem so just flies off the handle irrationally and randomly.

One step at a time with your DP - I hope you get a resolution soon.

ELA I had brown discharge at week 7 for a few days on and off. I was very scared and phoned the local maternity centre as hadn't had a midwife appt by then so didn't know who to call. They said brown is fine and if it gets worse or red or cramps to go to a+e. It settled and has been fine since.

ELA88 · 07/08/2014 11:29

Thank you foscar will keep an eye on it xx

notoasthere · 07/08/2014 11:45

ela if you are nearly 8 weeks, it may be a little 'period' - often you get breakthrough bleeding at 4 and 8 weeks as your pregnancy hormones take over from your normal ones. If you pain, a lot of blood, or it turns red, phone your midwife/mat hospital

M27J5M · 07/08/2014 12:10

Afternoon ladies! Had my booking in app and all is well and they've booked me in for reassurance scan 2 weeks today

Ugh, I am SO tired. I'm in the kitchen trying to cook something for dinner, DS and DD are watching a DVD, and I feel as though I could fall asleep standing up. No idea how I'm going to get through to bedtime.

Still nothing from the midwife, it's almost a week now since I called the surgery. Should I call again do you think?

hyperspacebug · 07/08/2014 15:09

just a rant really, but why do medical professionals so insist knowing LMP? Since I'm so irregular it's surely irrelevant anyway?!

How can I explain potential due date to midwives without sounding like a pseudo-scientific nutter? I got cheap ebay test sticks. When the first test was super super faint after 3 mins, I wasn't sure if I was imagining it or not.

So I got digital clearblue test, which showed 1-2 weeks. Tested later in the next few days and the test sticks got progressively darker and darker, which matches with my previous experience of test series in the past 3 pregnancies. I'd have been at 7-10dpo for the first test to be that faint. so I can't be a lot more or a lot less pregnant than 6wks3d now. And it's not like we have sex every day anyway...so it matches too.

hyperspacebug · 07/08/2014 15:11

(I wasn't charting this cycle...but did in the past)

Thiscantbetrue · 07/08/2014 15:22

Can I Join ? Smile.

Got my bfp yesterday & going by one of those due date calculators I'm due the 12th of March so I'm just over 8 weeks Grin

Can't get a Doctors appointment until the end of August and I cant self refer to the midwife grrrr so more than likely I'll be at least 12 weeks by the time I get my scan Sad

KeeperOfTheZoo · 07/08/2014 15:33

M27 glad everything went well Grin

ELA fx it stops soon, I'm sure it's nothing to worry about as others have said but I can understand you being anxious.

persepolis123 · 07/08/2014 16:13

keeper Is there a more senior manager your DH can speak to or would he rather just find another job and get out of there? Easier said than done I know.

Last time I was pregnant less than two years ago I was told the midwife wouldn’t see me until 10 weeks. Hence this time I have waited until I’m 8 weeks before calling to try and make an appointment only to be told they don’t have anything at the moment! I’ve got to pick up a pregnancy pack from the doctors and fill it in then wait for the midwife to contact me to arrange a possible home visit. Now I’m worried by the time I get to see the midwife and get my scan date through afterwards it will be past the 12 week mark.

Welcome Thiscantbetrue Smile

DurhamRed · 07/08/2014 16:54

Hi all

Had an early pregnancy scan today, so exciting. Heard my baby's heartbeat which was really emotional (strong heartbeat at 163bpm). Thankfully was told that baby was doing very well at 8 weeks and all is going well...phew!!!

ELA88 · 07/08/2014 17:54

It's stopped now which is good, also had a call from the midwife earlier so that's a relief! Scan appointment will be in the post as well as blood forms!
Got a wedding reception tonight and all I want to do is get in my pjs and crawl into bed! Concerned as to how I can conceal my travel sickness bands! May have to risk taking them off :-(
Glad to hear your scab went well durham I don't think all this will feel real until I actually have a scan! Xx

DurhamRed · 07/08/2014 18:02

I feel for you ELA the sickness is awful isn't it? Every time I look at the scan pics I tell myself the sickness is worth it...though it would be nice for it to ease up a bit!

Glad everything has eased up for you and you managed to get your scan date sorted.

m33r · 07/08/2014 18:02

Hurrah durham. I have held off early scan. Am 8 weeks tomorrow so I may crack but have my booking in appt on thurs to break up the time til 12 week scan which is exactly four weeks tomorrow. Anyone else wish it was march?

ELA88 · 07/08/2014 18:06

I don't wish it was march! We've got so much to sort out before then! Need to move house before I am too large to do anything, got mortgage meetings and all sorts before we go back to work! Although I would like to wish away the sickness and exhaustion! Xxx

FoscarC · 07/08/2014 18:51

I agree!! Far too much to do between now and 'B' day! Plus I am hoping that once I've had my scan and stop panicking about mmc's, me having dreamt up that I am actually pregnant, ectopics, and any other possible thing that could mean I go for my scan and it isn't good news, I may hopefully actually start to really enjoy being pregnant! That plus the joy of being able to actually rub my ever growing belly and tell people it's not just fat!

Great news of the scan durham I'm so jealous. I want a scan!! Only 13 days to go.

DurhamRed · 07/08/2014 19:03

I paid for a private scan just for reassurance really. Really glad I did as I feel much more relaxed now. I know its still early days but its still reassuring to know all is going as it should so far.

M33r I couldn't hold off much longer I was becoming such a worrier!

m33r · 07/08/2014 19:38

We've tried for 20months which might be why I just want the baby here!

durham I am also usually very impatient but I am coping much better than I thought then I have a massive flip out and wonder why I haven't gone for the scan yet ... What to do. What to do!?

ELA88 · 07/08/2014 20:10

m33r I think I remember you from the TTC buses last year! We've been TTC for 20 months too! Xx

m33r · 07/08/2014 20:58

ela!! Isn't it great to be here!!! Congratulations! I can't stop smiling! :-)

ELA88 · 07/08/2014 21:01

I know I honestly never thought it was going to happen! DH and I even started discussing IVF and adoption as possibilities in the future! Was a lovely surprise BFP considering I thought I was sick from holiday and hadn't even missed a period! If it's meant to be :-) xxx
