If you both can't get time off for your scan check with your hospital as my appointment is 8.20 so you could just be a little late x

Sunshine4444 · 10/08/2014 06:56

I have never felt so ill as I have this week so DH bought me some travel sickness bands, not sure if it's just in my head but they seem to be working.

I do look like I'm going for a run and wearing sweat bands but who cares i would wear them round my head if it made me feel better!!!!!

junkfoodaddict · 10/08/2014 07:29

Sunshine444 I had sickness bands throughout my holiday last week. At first they worked but then didn't. Mainly because I worked out that I was nauseous at certain times of the day - not because I wasn't wearing them.

My MS is wearing off and my appetite is returning. Boobs still sensitive and a bit tired so naturally I'm thinking 'Is this it?' Also a bit ratty but that could be because I was awake at 4:30 for about an hour and DS has just woken at 6:50am. Grrr. That'll teach me to go to bed at 11pm. DS has a party to go to today and then we've a 2 hour drive north (just me and DS) to see my parents for three days. My DF had brain surgery for a fistula last week and is recovering very well. I return on my anniversary - 4 years!! Next day will be my booking in appointment.

My friend in the village told me yesterday she is 9 weeks and a few days and she's had her booking in appointment. We both tested positive on the same but although her AF was due 2 days after mine, she's technically nearly 2 weeks ahead because her cycle is 35 days whereas mine is only 24 days. I will be 8 weeks tomorrow.

NotAQueef · 10/08/2014 08:01

junk sounds like a busy few days!
I need to motivate myself to get my lazy ass out of bed. The midwife is coming at some point between 10-1. I thought it was great that I get a home appointment but didn't factor in having to tiday the house Hmm

We went to Clacton yesterday and had a lovely day but paying for it today as still so sleepy.

Pinksun12 · 10/08/2014 08:11

notaqueef your midwife is coming to your house? On a Sunday? Is this an independent midwife?

I think I have a bump! Only 8+4 but had to change trousers because I couldn't breathe. Is this normal for pregnancy #3? Will I have any chance of hiding it until 13 weeks at work??

junkfoodaddict · 10/08/2014 08:34

I'm in leggings as my jeans are uncomrfortable and my M&S pop pants are in the wash.
Last time I found my own clothes were too tight but the maternity were too big. Could also be down to the fact I bought my usual size and hadn't realised I had lost weight by 16 weeks.

junkfoodaddict · 10/08/2014 08:36

I am showing a 'bump' but putting it down to bloating as uterus is the size of a grapefruit. Possible though if you're a skinny bitch - not like though as I carry a little fat around the tummy region. Grin

tannyLoo · 10/08/2014 08:44

I have a bump, but have also piled on fat with the steroids I've been taking, so hoping when I stop in a couple of weeks, my weight will stabilise. Confused

Leggings, dresses and baggy tops for me...

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 10/08/2014 08:49

It's bras I'm steering clear of. Anything tight round any part of my tummy is ouchie

M27J5M · 10/08/2014 08:51

Pinksun I have a bump at 8+4, can't even put it down to bloating as it's there 1st thing in morning and gets bigger as day goes on :/ last week I had convinced myself it was just bloating as it only appeared as the day went on, I'm clearly being proven wrong this week, I've had family/friends comment but they say it's cos they're used to seeing me flat tummied

Fish I have a preference. I would like to have a boy. I'm just more comfortable around males! And most of the kids I work with are boys. Of course I won't mind if we have a girl though. I'd just prefer to have a boy first. I always wanted a big brother.

M27J5M · 10/08/2014 09:08

I don't have a preference as such but I'm thinking I'm having a girl, u keep saying she and I know every preg is diff but this preg couldn't be more diff from with ds if it tried

Oh no Durham :( hope your ok! But on a positive note my friend who is currently 27 weeks has been hospitalised twice with same thing but they have her meds after 1st time which helped and more or less stopped sickness, 2nd time she had tummy big which obv stopped her keeping meds down and that's why she ended up back in again so fingers crossed they do same for you and give you something to take it away and make you feel better x

Oh no durham I hope you're feeling better soon :-( it's horrible feeling so unwell but you're in the best place to get treated. Do you feel any better now you've been given fluids and anti emetics?

I don't mind whether I have a boy or girl but DH really wants a boy! He's really into sport and wants a son to teach football etc, I'm happy with either! Xx

persepolis123 · 10/08/2014 09:41

pinksun my midwife is coming to visit me on a weekend too. She said probably a saturday but could be a sunday. Not an indepedent midwife, I contacted her through my GP and it's the same midwife I had with DS.

DurhamRed · 10/08/2014 09:43

Not feeling much better to be honest. I've already thrown my breakfast up, so not a great sign yet. I am in the right place and will eventually get the right meds to stop the sickness.

MyPandaisasecretmonster · 10/08/2014 09:48

Hope your feeling better soon Durham

I just can't seem to sleep for longer than an hour at a time , wish I new why as it's been a bloody long night Sad

My Ds is insitant it's a boy & if it's a girl he will throw it out of the window Shock The little sod Grin

I'd love a little girl but tbh I'm just happy with a baby of my own as I were convinced it would never happen Smile

notoasthere · 10/08/2014 09:54

Knackered after a long day at a wedding yesterday. MS stayed at bay till bedtime - luckily ds slept well in the travel cot despite a 15 min firework display in the hotel gardens! Feeling pretty yuck
Was going to ask about movements - I think I'm feeling things already which seems mad but glad to hear it's not just me!

MotherOfInsomniacToddlers · 10/08/2014 10:35

Poor durham :-(
Dd (3) keeps saying she wants another brother and wants to call it Thomas. I asked if it wouldn't be nice to have a sister but she's very insistent (She doesn't actually know I'm pregnant though! We just talk about if mummy had another baby). I have a feeling this is a girl (much more similar to dd's pregnancy so far)

m33r · 10/08/2014 10:56

I go backwards and forwards with a 'preference' which I'm pretty sure means I'm not fussed. Ideally I'd love one of each eventually but am thinking I should deal woth one pregnancy at a time.

So tmi question but after all your reassurance on here, we went ahead and dtd but afterwards I had pretty bad cramps for about 5mins or so. I've obviously googled and the implication is it's fine but I wondered if this happens to anyone else?

MotherOfInsomniacToddlers · 10/08/2014 11:08

M33r I'm not at all fussed either, I have one of each and this one is going to be a surprise baby.
I've had cramping after, think it's fine Grin

MotherOfInsomniacToddlers · 10/08/2014 11:09

Also whenever any of my friends have stated a preference they always seem to get the opposite!

Lifeisabeach · 10/08/2014 11:36

Oh no Durham, I hope you get the right meds soon and start feeling better :-(

The MW just texted me! Congratulated me on my pregnancy and suggested 2 possible dates for her to come round to do my booking in appointment. So she's coming on Wed morning at 9am. Luckily my DCs were due to be going to my MILs that day so I will just have to take them a bit early.

Think it'll all start feeling real once I've seen the MW.
