iamelectrogirl · 14/08/2014 13:17

Ooh hello, can I join? Grin I've never posted in the antenatal part before!
Currently 23+4 and really feeling the effects now Sad I'm completely uncomfortable unless I lie on my left side and even 15 minutes of tidying has worn me out.
Still, I'm finally getting some sort of bump shape which is nice Grin

Hi electro girl. Welcome to our wee group. :)

PolytheneGirl · 14/08/2014 13:47

Went to see the consultant yesterday and everything is going really well. None of the complications with my health like last time and the obstetrician even said they were thinking of letting me go to 38wks this time! Grin (if things continue how they are)

Saw the GP about my knee and he just said to wear a knee support and take paracetamol. If it's not any better in a week he'll send me for and ultrasound on it but not an X-ray because if being pregnant. Not very helpful really.

They've said they aren't going to make a final decision until my 36wk scan unless things go wrong before then. I'm just worried I might go into labour before then.

Fx you make it a bit longer this time too Whats.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 14/08/2014 14:21

You guys!! I bought a pram! It was in the charity shop opposite mine, just waiting for me :D it's not my dream pram by a long stretch, but it'll certainly do. It's a SilverCross 3D system in black with pistachio green trim. All accessories and instructions included for £50 :) I got a bouncy chair too for £5. Chuffed!

DrewsWife · 14/08/2014 14:33

Yaaaayyyyy peace!!! Bargain!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 14/08/2014 14:38

It's sitting downstairs in my shop with a black bin liner over it and a big NOT FOR SALE sign stuck to it. Volunteer says, oh is this for sale? NO IT IS NOT FOR SALE. DO NOT SELL THIS.

PolytheneGirl · 14/08/2014 15:24

Daaaamn! I wish the charity shops round by me were that good!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 14/08/2014 15:28

Mine is awesome Poly ;) I've got a nearly new Moses basket and rocker base for sale - snap it up before I do!

SassehMonsta · 14/08/2014 15:41

Lonely today. :(

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 14/08/2014 15:48

Sasseh, I'm buggering about at work so chat away and feel less lonely

SassehMonsta · 14/08/2014 16:09

thanks peace Just a bit low and blue today. Went into work this morning to see a client who I had to tell will owe HMRC a looooaddddd of money, like 30k, very soon. Bit crap tbh. Then my best friend messaged me and said shes spoken to midwife triage and they advised her to go in (possible leaking waters) and then had no reply from her for hoursssss, so went home as couldn't concentrate. Took me some googling to find her husbands work number as I wasn't sure if he was working or not, luckily not so felt a bit better. Shes got the all clear though, which is good :)

But now I just feel alone and lonely, DH is at work, dogs napping, sisters working, and all 4 of my friends are busy (one in Wolverhampton, one in South Africa, one just back from hospital and the other working). I popped in to see DH briefly and got him to come downstairs and give me a hug, but he could only spare me a few minutes.

I feel like I need someone to just sit with me, IYKWIM :/

LotsaTuddles · 14/08/2014 16:47

Ahh, went to drs today because my c section scar has been really sore and DH looked at out last night for me (I can't see it) and says there was a spot on it - it's bloody infected!

Saw a crap Dr so don't know how or why it's infected and what I can do to stop it happening again, but got some antibiotic cream and consultant appt Tuesday so will see what happens

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 14/08/2014 17:12

Today I bought the only clothing items I'm going to be buying for baby (at least in 0-3 sizes anyway!). From sainsburys & M&S I got 2 packs of babygrows, a pack of vests and two complete outfits - remembering that all in one/dungarees are much more useful than separates, no matter how cute they look.

I've sorted ds's old baby clothes and the majority of it is very neutral especially in the early sizes, but it was lacking in purples and reds (that was my excuse for needing to buy more babygrows). Plus as ds was born in August I did notice we only had two cardigans so I've made sure the outfits I bought have a woolly cardi to match them.

Looking through our photos ds was in 0-3 month sizes until he was nearly 5 months so I should get a bit of wear out of the nice outfits.

I could have spent a fortune in there! They're the first shops I've come across that had quite a few baby girl clothes that aren't bright pink, frilly and flowery. I want to go back and buy all the items I put back (showing restraint there Wink) but my bank balance is already suffering!

I got some primark pj bottoms with a drawstring and in stretchy ribbed material (remembering to size up because of primark's stupid vanity sizing Hmm) and I'm pleased to say they fit over my bump. Grin Yay! Just need to see how they hold up in the wash and I may buy another pair.

I was disappointed by the primark cheap t-shirts though. I wanted some longline ones but the only ones they had had really high necklines and were a clingy stretchy material which really won't suit me.

25+1

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 14/08/2014 17:22

Sasseh sorry, I had to go and do actual work after I sent that message Hmm grr.
Where in the country are you?
Sorry you're feeling lonely and blue. What are you having for tea? That always cheers me up, haha! We're going shopping so we'll have ours at Morrisons, such glitz and glamour. DH always has bread and butter with his chips and it's revolting amusing to see how much butter they can pile on top of the bread.
I'm being a weirdo and googling aubergine recipes because I've got some kind of vegetable fetish this week.
My sister has been sending me photos of her on her honeymoon in Cornwall and I'm desperately jealous!
What are you upto this weekend Sasseh?

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 14/08/2014 17:22

Pourquoi did you notice the fleecy lion costume in Sainsburys??? WANTS IT

CatFaceCrayola · 14/08/2014 17:31

It rained all day today so didn't have to brave the stroll that was worrying me!

Still 2.5 hours til DH finishes work though. I hare it when he's on lates. And even worse he's on an early tomorrow so he'll come home, eat, watch something and then go to bed :/

SassehMonsta · 14/08/2014 17:33

Im in Northamptonshire - nice and central! No idea for dinner, but hoping to get to the aquanatal class as DH doesn't finish work till 9pm. I'll probably have chocolate porridge to keep me going again - mmmm!

I've been stuck on youtube googling "pregnancy annoucements" and reactions etc, and bawling my eyes out with happiness (all sparked by the MN thread on how to tell people which I duly answered!). So glad DH isn't here, he would tut and roll his eyes at me.

This weekend I am meant to be going to the Umbrella Fair, a local festival run by locals, with 11+ stages/performance areas, food, stalls, alsorts. Should pop down on the Saturday with my 2 friends who live in N'ton for a few hours. Otherwise, nothing planned but housework. No doubt I will see my family, as my mums stressed out about my sister (I daren't ask but assume its house related as my sister is back from uni until Sept and is a claen freak unlike the rest of us ). Might get out with the dog, might force DH to join us, and force him to push pram with dog, then convince him to buy new pram/search on ebay for 2nd hand one.

What about the rest of you - anyone doing anything nice this weekend?

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 14/08/2014 17:39

Ah if you were closer I'd have come and bothered you, then you'd not mind feeling lonely in comparison Wink
I asked DH to take me round all the baby shops this weekend so we could choose a pram, but since that's now sorted, I guess we will just chill and do housework! He wants to go to the cinema to see Lucy, not at all influenced by Scarlett Johannson's starring role, and has bribed me along with the promise of sushi, so maybe that, depending on funds.
I'm just happy not to be working on Saturday!

SassehMonsta · 14/08/2014 17:48

Oh, I uploaded my parents reaction to our baby annoucement (mugs, with Upgrading to Grandma/Grandad and a loading bar on, with an estimated completion date) for you guys to see. Told them it was a late easter gift, hence the chocolate hens!

Sasseh that sounds so cute, I'll watch later on my computer!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 14/08/2014 18:36

Just having a cup of tea in Pret waiting for DH to pick me and the pram up and making this face Shock as I get kicked in the cervix. So precious.

CatFaceCrayola · 14/08/2014 18:41

Sasseh- I enjoyed your dads "oh what!" Wish I'd filmed some reactions now!
