AIBU to pump my fanny full of helium on weigh in day in order to be more floaty for the midwife, or will that just end in tears....

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 11/08/2014 20:28

I think we're going for Bumgenius too BigHairy

PunkyPod · 11/08/2014 20:29

I'm away on holiday and loving the break so much. We had the most stressful time of our lives moving house. Only exchanged on Thursday, moved Friday and the got up in the middle of the night to go on holiday on Saturday morning. So basically not seen the new house at all! But good to be away from the stress...

I worked til 39 weeks with dd. London commuting was crippling me for the last month so I worked from home a lot. I'm aiming for 38 weeks this time and again increasing my home days.

I cloth bummed dd (tots bots) successfully. Will do the same again with ds. Have recently started to think about reusable pads for myself but not seriously considering it. Think I need to read up a bit more. I also had the Kotex mega pads for post birth. Very comfy. I bled a lot. And I was very injured down there so comfort was vital.

Baby boy is such a raver. My belly moves about so much. And my pelvis is starting to scream in agony in bed. I wake every 90 mins to switch sides which involves sitting up to do it Angry but by 5am my pelvis is hurting so much. Have started taking a paracetemol when it's bad. Need to chat to mw about it in a few weeks.

24+1

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 11/08/2014 20:31

Oh and BigHairy YABU to pump your fanny full of helium because it's a smaller cavity than your bottom, so that would make more sense. HTH.

PunkyPod · 11/08/2014 20:31

Bighairy I had both brands too. Got on much better with the tots bots 2 part system. Bumgenius just didn't fit her as well and I got a lot of leaks. This time it could be different though.

Pepsiaddict · 11/08/2014 20:32

Cuppa, glad the cyst has improved! I've only put on 3lb since the 12 week scan despite gaining a big bump! 10-11lb in total up from pre-preg weight and was 7'13 to start with - most weight was due to only being able to drink sugary drinks in the first tri. Midwife hasn't commented on it. I'll prob put on most of the weight in the third tri. Glad I haven't put on too much as hips are so sore.

Pepsiaddict · 11/08/2014 20:33

Pinky, I've already had a physio appt - they are keen to see SPD sufferers early so may be worth a call to your midwife to get a referral.

LotsaTuddles · 11/08/2014 21:11

I haven't been weighed (or weighed myself) since my 8 week appointment.

I'll post bump picture in the morning and I'm in bed no one needs to see that

I also wear thongs or French knickers to MW, just incase she decides to weigh me and so I have move underwear on Blush, DH has started joking that I make more of an effort for her than I do him Grin

CatFaceCrayola · 11/08/2014 21:18

I think I'm going to go for a combination of tots bots, bum genius and charlie banana. Need to get a variety of liner, booster thingies too. Hemp I think. I bought some washable pads for me to try today too.

So uncomfortable. Can't find a way to sit that doesn't cause me pain!

Taura · 11/08/2014 21:42

I'm in pain too. Sciatica I think, and a bit of carpal tunnel syndrome just to liven things up in the last couple of days. Ow ow ow and a bit more ow. I love being pregnant but I hate being pregnant, if you know what I mean.

Physio on the 26th... Magic fix please.

DrewsWife · 11/08/2014 22:03

Cuppa glad bubbas cyst has gone down!!!

And seriously lolling at spider with string attached to an arm to keep her from floating off and bobbing around in the ceiling at midwife appointment. !!!

Girls with aches and pains. Get thee to midwifes for physio now!! Do not walk.... I got crutches and codeine. And It made a massive difference. I appear to be getting trapped nerves on one or both sides.

When in hospital I had a mattress with cut our spaces for boobs and bump. So I could lie flat and take the pressure off my hips. I also use a gym ball to sit on as sofa is too soft.

Been hitting fb groups hard and managed to get a cot bedding bundle and a whack of vests, babygros and mittens. Grin

Hubby keeps asking if I'm done yet!! Hahaha. Not even close!!!

Am getting a lot of movement on my left side. Not front which I assume is due to placenta.

21+3.

SassehMonsta · 11/08/2014 22:11

Aching from pushchair forray. Owwie lower back! Dog walked fine alongside pushchair on short lead, not so great on long lead as kept using leadto pull the chair left or right, but was also attached to his harness so not surprised he pulled more. Out again wed with him. Pushchair is a bit of a nightmare on gravel (why did noone tell me this?!) and is tricky to steer with one hand, so may npt be the chair for me.

Off to bed now. Hips and lower back hurt but hoping its just overexertion.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 11/08/2014 22:22

Forgot to say I spent £40 on baby grows and muslins in Toys R Us today, whoops. Feel like we're getting there with baby's wardrobe, though! I looked at prams and quite liked the Cosatto Giggle, but Which? tells me it was recalled due to serious safety issues and was on Watchdog! I shouldn't allow myself to be swayed by pretty colours Hmm

CatFaceCrayola · 11/08/2014 23:15

I was super tempted by the Cossatto Giggle (the pixelated one) but all the reviews scared me off them. Will have to pimp my own pram!

I need to step away from ebay/internet shopping. Feel a bit crazed today and could far too easily spend £100s on baby stuff :s

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 11/08/2014 23:17

Catface I remember you posting about the pixel one! It's lovely looking :( I was looking at it in "sunny" today. Grr.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 11/08/2014 23:19

I've had some sharp twinges since laying down to sleep, but feeling loads of movement all over so not worrying, right?

CatFaceCrayola · 12/08/2014 00:50

Hope the twinges settled peace

I've slept terribly last couple of nights. Brain goes into overdrive. Feel fine all day, but get in to bed and a strange wave of panic hits me. Not panic about any particular subject, just a general sense of panic.

Don't know if it's linked to DH not being in the same room or what? Been trying relaxing music and breathing, but still lying awake fretting

PunkyPod · 12/08/2014 06:10

Thanks Pepsi and Drew. I'm abroad right now but have mw and consultant appointments when I get home. Will chat about my pelvis aches. With dd they started up past 30 weeks and I got given a Velcro bump support for when I was walking. It really helped lift the weight off my pelvis. I am a size10 usually but grow ginormous bumps which stick out so far, so they pull hard from my body. It's also hard running after dd (26 months) and still giving her all the attention she wants. DH is very good but she's quite a mummy's girl right now so wants me. I am careful with what I can do though. I'll post a bump photo later. It's huge!

24+2 Grin

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 12/08/2014 08:39

Back to work this morning. Panicy shaking and tearful. Not great for someone who is meant to be in charge. ..Sad

Cuppachaplz · 12/08/2014 09:04

Holiday today! Whoop, whoop!
See you all next week xxx

DrewsWife · 12/08/2014 09:04

I will log on to laptop to post my photo. Later on. I started at 13'7. Urgh. I'm at 14'2 now. Not been this heavy in years. Unsure how much I should have put on but this is enough for me.

I'm becoming paranoid and weigh myself over frequently. Eeeeeek.

Had 4-5 hours sleep which is brilliant. For me it's luxurious. Lol.

Currently moggie boy is running about like an idiot. Urggghhhhh.

Off to church later to take a kid through her junior soldier lessons. Then pick up a bundle of baby blankets.

SassehMonsta · 12/08/2014 09:11

bighairy - deep breaths & if you need time out, take it. After all, you are incharge! Hoping that people around you aren't dicks today.

cuppa enjoy your holiday! jealousss :)

I;ve not been weighed since booking in, by which point I had lost 8lbs of my prepregnancy weight (was admitted into hospital later that week when it reached 1 stone lost - I now have a new midwife). I occasionally get on the wii fit but not recently!

Interviewed 2 people for my own job, but my boss can't decide. Hes offering both applicants a 2 day trial to see how they do, but may give each one 2.5days a week instead of one full time job! Soft touch much!

Idon't feel like getting up and doing things today, but I said I would work a whole day. Booo. Boss not in till lunch so we shall see....

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 12/08/2014 09:31

I feel so embarrassed and stupid telling my volunteers. Wish I could just write it down and nail it to the door instead! Everyone has been positive, but I hate being the centre of attention.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 12/08/2014 09:35

Take it easy BigHairy

Ladylel · 12/08/2014 10:28

Big hugs bighairy
