Ds announced tonight that he does not want to be a big brother or for there to be a baby Hmm

gunwalloe · 29/07/2014 19:29

awwwww how old is he fedup?

clops2000 · 29/07/2014 19:30

I'm with you bump, feeling very lazy and I haven't even got the commute at the minute - The hubby has gone out for the evening and I said I'd cook something whilst he was out...and now I can't be bothered to move from the sofa! Unless its to go and get another bun (which he made before he left and are now calling me from the kitchen!). I've had 2 so far, need to stay strong for another 2 hours.....help!
nice to hear the positive waterbirth experience granny, i found our NCT homebirth group via facebook I think tho they'll be on nct website too i'm sure.

gunwalloe · 29/07/2014 19:32

Just seen in the pregnancy forum that kiddiecare are closing all but 1 of there shops could be some bargains coming up which is good for us but sad for all those losing there jobs.

MundayCakes85 · 29/07/2014 20:12

Oh that's sad. I've just ordered a fair bit off their internet site. No stores near me in Dorset. Might need a trip to a store to grab a few bargains!

fedupofrainydays · 29/07/2014 20:49

He will be 3 just after this baby is born. So he's 2 years 9 months. Worried he's going to be mean to the baby now / be really jealous!! Didn't think he would be but now am not so sure. He was saying the he wants to the the baby, not the big brother!!

mrsb87 · 29/07/2014 20:59

Oooh gun I might have to take a trip to merryhell! You will have to let us know when the bargains commence!

goats hope you managed your class and you are feeling ok tonight.

bugs yes to the buglet growing nicely!!

clops a rewire too hey! we thought it wasn't a big job but ours was a nightmare with ceilings down and everything so it's great you can get away with just the channels!

bump sorry about your sister. I know what you mean about feeling very lucky about what you have. A friends dreadful news confirmed that for me recently too never mind the stuff on the news at the moment.

More unisex links, sorry, not sorry! But cheaper this time.... www.mothercare.com/little-bird/clothing_little_bird,default,sc.html?pmin=0

Just marking my place Smile

We spent the weekend with our friends and their three children; 1year 4 months (my Godson), 3 and 5 year old girls Mrsthedog is God mum to the eldest. We camped at Monmouth and checked out the festival and had lots of time to spend with the children and to talk about parenthood.

It was amazing fun but really tiring and I was never solely in charge of them Smile.

Sazzle, you need to seek help for your addiction!

mum2kiss · 29/07/2014 21:45

If any if you are looking to buy pampers I just ordered pampers new baby in size 2 (6-13lbs) essentials pack from tesco. It was bogof so I will get 112 nappies for £9.99. I found with Dd that she grew out of the size 1s within a couple of weeks but she was in size 2 for a couple of months so not going to bother with size 1 this time...

queenasanti3 · 29/07/2014 21:45

Hi alll just tagging on.

Getting really bad tightening of the bump last few days, hope this isn't the sign of early delivery.

ohthegoats · 29/07/2014 21:58

Turned out fine! Should have gone swimming this afternoon instead of Ikea! Cooled me down, chatted to people who weren't a hungover boyfriend, (who was winding me RIGHT UP before I went), and in general feel loads better. Class is run by a private midwife, who is available to answer questions on FB at any time - she runs tea and cake sessions afterwards for questions and chat too, so a lovely resource.

Missus2ndwife · 29/07/2014 22:48

Thanks mum2. I am hoping Aquanatal will start again in Sept. In the meantime I have acupuncture tomorrow so maybe that will help and I'll just have to try swimming doggy paddle style lol

Goats your class sounds nice. I attend a pregnancy yoga class which is similar and it's great for me to me other muumies2be in the area

Sparkle I'm 29+2 & at approx 27 wks I had a day with less movement lasted just over 24 hrs. Called community midwife out & she had a listen & reassured me. Think it has happened to lots of us around that time. If worried always call.
Fed up try the Pirate Pete book about being a big brother, I have the Princess Polly version for my DD (3yrs) & she has gone from detesting the idea to being really excited. Especially as I keep telling her that the baby told me that it was going to get her some waterproof clothes & wellies to walk on the beach. :)
Sorry to hear of sad news, it's tough enough getting to the end of pregnancy without other stuff to be strong about. Be nice to yourself & give yourself a wee pat on the back. We are all doing very well. Xx

ExcitedCJ · 30/07/2014 04:11

Mum2 thanks for that tip... Just bought first 3 months supply for less than £60, 8p per nappy is reasonable price.
Internet shopping is wonderful, especially when you can't sleep at 4am!

ohthegoats · 30/07/2014 05:40

It's a shame I don't have space to store all that type stuff (the disposable bits)... I too am awake at 5am and able to internet shop to my heart's content! So annoying. I could also eat a massive breakfast right now, actually thinking about going for it...

Missus2ndwife · 30/07/2014 07:58

Morning ladies,

Sparkle I'm sure the baby is fine but call the midwife just in case.

Yesterday on FB, a couple were showing pics of all their baby stuff and the girl is only 4months! They have EVERYTHING! Pram, cot, clothes, you name it. I have less than 3months and hardly have anything lol

fedupofrainydays · 30/07/2014 08:03

sparkle I would go get baby checked my mw. Am sure it is fine but better than worrying yourself. Doppler can also pick up the placenta beat so you need to be sure it's the baby you are hearing. Placenta noise is more whooshing noise though than train or gallop of baby. I'm sure it's fine but I would go see someone for peace of mind.

Burst out crying on tube this morn as read the story in the metro re the 8 year old boy who did a triathlon pushing / pulling his disabled brother around with him in a buggy, dinghy, and trailer. Melted my heart.

fedupofrainydays · 30/07/2014 08:27

Thanks cj we have pirate Pete's potty so maybe the one about being the brother will help!!

mum2kiss · 30/07/2014 08:59

Ugh just woke up with cramp in my calf! So annoying!

I need to find a way to get through to dp that I cannot physically do everything around the house with minimal input from him. We are both working 37 hours this week but I am apparently still responsible for all of the cooking and cleaning because I get home earlier and he is tired! Ever since the beginning he has taken very little notice when I have said I am tired and always seems to think i can't be as tired as he is! I'm worried that when this baby is born and I'm getting to grips with having a newborn again he is not going to help!

Ok rant over...needed to get that off my chest to someone who isn't going to shrug and not take my pleas seriously!

Sparkle when I told my midwife I'd had reduced movement for a couple of days she said if it were to happen again do not sit and wait for a change. Call the dau and let them make the call on whether you need to be seen. Get yourself down there! This is their job...They are expecting your call!

My dp will do things if I ask him to...I guess it's just frustrating when I come home from work and he's made breakfast and lunch and left the kitchen in a state for me to clean! Then he comes home from work and says "where's dinner?".

Missus2ndwife · 30/07/2014 10:20

Sparkle have you tried drinking ice cold water to wake bubba up? Or sit down and lean forward (basically you are pushing your tummy on to your legs) - I find that wakes mine up as it squashes him Oops!
