Hi,

I've finally got my BFP and want to find others who want to chat and eat cake whilst being excited about cooking our little dragons.

I am 31yrs old, just got my BFP for #2.

Come in and sit down for the next nerve racking 9 months :)

(Waits with baited breath to find out how big misty's bloblet is measuring)Grin

BrixtonBunny · 12/08/2014 09:24

Misty that's brilliant! You must be so relieved xxx

Phryn · 12/08/2014 09:39

Great news about the scan - really hope the nurse is helpful.

SingingSoftly · 12/08/2014 09:45

Hello everyone, mind if I join in as well? Just got my BFP, this will be my first DC and I am delighted but terrified and feel like I have no idea what I am doing! Apparently I'm due on 22 April (according to phone app). So it seems like everyone is going for GP appointments already - should I make one immediately then? Do you just make a normal GP appointment or do you tell them when you ring up the reason for it?

littleluna89 · 12/08/2014 09:50

welcome sing and congratulations! I would phone your dr surgery and tell them you're pregnant, different surgeries have different procedures, but the receptionists should know the process. It's quite likely they'll book you in for an 8 week midwife apt.

cinnamongreyhound · 12/08/2014 09:51

Fantastic news Misty414!!

Congratulations SingingSoftly, my gp just have a form to fill in which they fax to hospital to sort scan and refer you to midwife. Give the surgery a call and they'll tell you there protocol as it seems to change depending where you are.

LadesC · 12/08/2014 10:11

Congrats Singing......and phew Misty.....you must be so relieved. Ive woken up with what im guessing is the start of my proper morning sickness.....rather badly timed as I have a very important day tomorrow (exams eeeeek). Sad

LadyNovember · 12/08/2014 10:26

That's amazing new Misty, you must be feeling so relieved!

I woke up in the middle of the night with period like cramps last night, they were almost as bad as first day AF cramps, it was horrible. :( they're back to twingey today but now I'm a crappy state of mind that it's the beginning of something awful :/

Anyone else still getting cramps?

dancestomyowntune · 12/08/2014 11:05

Scan this morning was a little bit disappointing. Sac and yolk seen, but think I'm only four-five weeks, not the six we were hoping for. We were unsure on dates so that's fine and another app made for in two weeks. I just really wanted to see a heartbeat. Comparing pics online I'm working on five weeks. Hopefully we'll see more on the 26th!

GinRickey · 12/08/2014 11:09

Hooray Misty that's brilliant news.

Congratulations singing - my GP wanted me to come in to see them when I found out (not sure what they're going to say yet, appointment's this week), they're all different.

6 weeks yesterday and the exhaustion has hit me. I cannot believe how tired I'm getting and how badly my brain's working at the moment! Luckily work is fairly quiet at the moment so it doesn't matter too much if I just stare into space occasionally...

roastpots · 12/08/2014 11:51

congrats dances and misty on the positive scans!

linda I'm not London based but my good friend gave birth at Homerton early this year and she had really positive things to say about them despite a complicated birth.

scratchandsniff · 12/08/2014 12:40

Wow the thread has moved quickly since the weekend.

Glad all OK with your scan misty

Apart from feeling stupidly tired I don't really feel pregnant. This year feels like its flown by so far, but I know the weeks until the 12 week scan are going to drag.

Have many of you had dates through for your scan? Got my booking in appt with the mW on 1st sept so I guess I'll get my date after that. Feels so far away.

Twittwooo · 12/08/2014 13:41

Glad all went well with your scan misty. That must be a relief! I'm still feeling awful .. I've been sick at least once daily for the last few days and feeling constantly nauseous still. I'm back to work tomorrow and really not sure how I'll manage! I bought seabands yesterday but it's hard to tell if they're working or not really. How long is this going to last??? I don't remember it being quite so bad last time. Scratch - I have my midwife appointment next week and my scan on 11th September.

RiverRocks · 12/08/2014 14:08

Glad to hear your scans went well, misty and dances.

I haven't been sick yet, but spent the day feeling ill (unless I eat constantly, which I'm trying to avoid as don't want to end up the size of a house). Woke up at 3.30am this morning when a whopping great spider walked on my arm and tickled me and couldn't get back to sleep, and being tired makes me feel worse. I just keep telling myself, at least it's a good sign Hmm

cinnamongreyhound · 12/08/2014 14:56

My scan is 1st oct when I'll be 13wks scratchandsniff, haven't heard from midwife yet.

LiveInABox · 12/08/2014 15:33

Can I nervously join please?
Got my BFP yesterday after a MC at 8wks in June, this will be DC2 (DS will be 3yo when this one arrives). I'm only 4+2 and feeling very nervous about getting through the first twelve weeks to hopefully seeing that little bean on a screen!
Looking forward to sharing the next 36 or so weeks with you all, all being well!

lila35 · 12/08/2014 16:26

Glad all ok misty and dances xx

Hello newbies!!!

Feeling more sick now and sleeping like a beast! If theres nothing there this is an incredibly cruel trick my body is playing!! I guess I just feel under the weather and don't seem to be able to get enough water in me, I am thirsty allll the time.

roastpots · 12/08/2014 16:31

Welcome liveinabox - congratulations on your BFP and fingers crossed all will go smoothly for you this time x x

I'm feeling pretty terrible today :( Just sat at my desk acheiving very little despite having loads to do. Urgh.

I've got my booking in appt next Friday but haven't had a scan date through yet.

cinnamongreyhound · 12/08/2014 16:33

Me too lila35! I am weeing lots but which is probably not helped by drinking lots but at night I'm not drinking and still up twice a night :( hit a wall of tiredness around 3 and I'm definitely eating less but not feeling sick.

Twittwooo · 12/08/2014 16:36

Sounds like many of us are feeling a bit rough now - hold onto the thought that it's supposed to be a good sign! I've been resting all day, doing nothing (lucky me) and recently begun to feel better, but then .. panic struck! It's so weird - I'm trying all the remedies I can to ease this and then when I get a bit of respite I worry terribly that something's gone wrong! I don't know if I prefer feeling sick or feeling worried!

dancestomyowntune · 12/08/2014 17:17

I'm having a wobble this afternoon. Went to do a self bp check and its crept back up. 140/116. Really don't want to be sent back to the hospital but can see we are going to be going backwards and forwards and constantly worrying.

BrixtonBunny · 12/08/2014 17:44

Dances sorry your scan wasn't all you'd hoped for but yolk sac is a good sign, no? Also sorry about your bp, can you try and do some deep breathing (in through your nose, out through your mouth) and put your feet up? Xx

BrixtonBunny · 12/08/2014 17:44

LiveIn welcome and congrats! Grin
