Hi,

I've finally got my BFP and want to find others who want to chat and eat cake whilst being excited about cooking our little dragons.

I am 31yrs old, just got my BFP for #2.

Come in and sit down for the next nerve racking 9 months :)

LadesC I think it depends on your locality. It suggested on NHS Choices that unless I was expected to be low risk (which includes being 35 or under) then they might not let me use the midwife led maternity unit to have my baby in at the Homerton. I have no idea if this goes across the NHS in general in terms of where to have your baby. Of course I'll still be seen my midwives up until that point - I think they just prefer to have consultants close to hand if you're higher risk at birth which makes sense, having seen my sister in law end up with pre-eclampsia and sky high blood pressure just before she popped at age 42!

Sorry I'm wrong on that, its up to age 40 for Homerton Birth Unit according to Which? . I'm also pretty skinny though with a BMI of 19 so they might still stick me in the labour ward. This is a good site for birth choices intel: www.which.co.uk/birth-choice/units/RQXM1-amu

Assuming, as ever, if we get that far!

cinnamongreyhound · 11/08/2014 17:20

The one if found was a specific trust, not sure which and that said Bmi 18.9-35 was MLC. Mine was 35 last time and had clc :(

BrixtonBunny · 11/08/2014 17:20

Misty my scan is on Thursday - am nervous! Sorry your DH can't come with you, that's rubbish x

Cinnamon that sounds like a very stressful day! Poor thing - hope you are able to put your feet up for a bit now x

tryinghard2 · 11/08/2014 17:59

our internet has been down over the weekend and I've missed about 6 pages! I've been feeling queasy every day and at the end of the day my boobs hurt so much! Someone said something about wishing the weeks away, I am doing that for definite, would like to know everything will be ok. I never knew I was such a worrier!

ladyflower23 · 11/08/2014 18:06

Hello new ones and welcome to the April Mother Funkers.
Agh! Cinnamon, that sounds horrendous! Hope you are not too traumatised! Bet you could do with a bottle of wine right now!
Sorry to hear you girls are still having problems, Brixton & Misty. I am worried several times a day without any of that stuff going on! I can always find something to worry about!
Had my first contact appt with midwife today. She asked me which hospital I want to give birth at and I live equi-distant between two. One is the hospital I gave birth to DS in and had a horrible post natal experience at, and the other has better reviews, so seems sensible to go there. Only thing is it's under a different trust which means having to contact them directly to arrange booking in and scan, rather than midwife sorting scan and doing my booking in (and she's only at the bottom of the road). She's told me I only have a week to decide to get scan arranged in time. Pressure!

Cassieyellow · 11/08/2014 18:35

Cinnamon - I was looking at private scan places earlier. Found one on. Newmarket Rd (Norwich ) but was £100. Will search again! (Hope you can sit down and relax soon even without a glass of wine ).
Oh my goodness, minipie! Wish I had known you then! It was so strange and nerve wracking!

Rustyzilla · 11/08/2014 19:25

tryinghard it occured to me yesterday while I pondered that I am always worried every time I go to the loo that all being well there will never be another worry free day ever again!

The exhaustion has really hit today, and been on the verge of tears twice for no good reason! Slight increase in queasiness too.

Thinking of you both misty and brixton

cinnamongreyhound · 11/08/2014 21:07

Thank you all, she came out of surgery at 5.15 luckily they manipulated it back into place so no pinning. She's in overnight to keep and eye on swelling but is happy and bossing her mum around. I went for a run on dh instruction so feel better now I'm back with m&m's and a cuppa. I don't drink so chocolate is my relaxant, which I can eat all through pregnancy Grin. Need my bed now, I'm knackered!

Thinking of you all with scans and hope you get to see your little bean's heartbeat. My app says my baby will be the size of a grain of rice on weds :)

LadyNovember · 11/08/2014 21:24

Hi ladies, could I please join! :)

I'm 25, this is dc#1 and I'm 5+6 (according to last AF)

I've been reading a few of the pages on this thread and I'm so glad everyone else is bricking it too! I'm literally crapping myself all day every day that something is going to go wrong..! I've been having mild cramps for like a week now, thought AF was coming but decided to take a test on Saturday as I had a heavy night planned..safe to say it was j20 all night! The cramps aren't really painful, more of a niggle but enough to make me doubt things!

Any tips for letting PMA take over my mind?!

ladyflower23 · 11/08/2014 22:10

Hi LadyNovember! Congrats on your BFP Smile
Don't worry about mild cramps, they are completely normal and just a sign of things going on in there. I have been trying really hard to have a PMA but bit crap at it. Keep reminding myself that statistically odds are in my favour and that thinking negatively won't stop anything bad from happening, so should just enjoy it, espec as if all does go well this will be my last pregnancy and I love being pregnant (much more after first 12 week worryfest)

Congratulations LadyNovember! I'm not the best at pma I'm afraid!!

I definitely cannot go through the night without weeing now, at least once a night every night, didn't have this before but think I'll take it over sickness!

cinnamongreyhound · 12/08/2014 08:22

Let us know how it goes Misty414, keep positive Flowers

BrixtonBunny · 12/08/2014 08:36

Twittwooo · 12/08/2014 08:56

Hope everything goes well this morning misty. x

Phryn · 12/08/2014 08:59

Thinking of you misty and hoping it'll all be okay.

Maybe turn people watching into a distraction. What would that lady opposite you do in Britain's got talent (secret amazing singer, dog trainer or terrible beatboxer)? Who of the medical staff you are seeing are having a secret affair and how are they not-so-secretly showing it to each other? Keep your mind busy if you can.

CatRen27 · 12/08/2014 09:13

Phryn I love your thinking!

Good luck Misty I hope it all goes really well.

I felt seriously sick this morning, and as I'm in Indonesia with work I was travelling around on bumpy roads just after breakfast.. had to turn up the AC full blast on my face to prevent puking on my poor colleagues! (and also not sure if it's MS or just the food here that's making me feel dodgy..)

Have brightened up now though (it's already 3pm) and really looking forward to getting home on Thursday and seeing my DH for the first time since the BFP! My friend who I was staying with on the weekend is the only other person who knows, so it's been nice to be excited together but until I see DH I don't think it will feel real.

x
