Hi,

I've finally got my BFP and want to find others who want to chat and eat cake whilst being excited about cooking our little dragons.

I am 31yrs old, just got my BFP for #2.

Come in and sit down for the next nerve racking 9 months :)

Hi ladies! room for one more?

POAS (or three) yesterday and got undeniable second lines!

Have phoned the doctors and they've booked me in with the midwife on 28th. Have to go and get a paperwork pack beforehand to fill in, and tell our parents, I kept it quiet till 12 weeks last time and announced it in the pub under the guise of a birthday meal for DH (though we weren't married at the time) figured I should probably give them more prep time this time round, especially as DD came 4 weeks early and chaos ensued!

Last time I had a PPH and IUGR, any other mummies had either of those and know what the procedure will be this time round?

BrixtonBunny · 07/08/2014 09:55

Congrats little and welcome on board Grin

chiliplant · 07/08/2014 09:57

Congrats to the new peeps.

This time is really going to drag.... I've known a week and it feels like a month! X

chiliplant · 07/08/2014 10:00

Did anyone do anything different this time to get the bfp? I had a smear last month and my good friend (who is often fond of an old wives tale) said that can sweep the halls so to speak!x

Morning all! The sickness has really kicked in today - bleurgh. Even with food I am still feeling grim. I am going to have to tell my boss I think as he keeps piling loads of work on me.

chili I used ovulation sticks - this was third month of trying, I used ov sticks the last month too but not properly whereas this month I did it properly and made sure we DTD at the right time. With DD it took nearly a year because I had (undiagnosed) underactive thyroid - got bfp quickly when I went on medication for it.

welcome littleluna! I don't know but would guess you will probably get some extra growth scans given the IUGR last time, and maybe a cervical scan due to your first being 4 weeks early? DD was 6 weeks early (but due to PROM not IUGR) and I was told they would scan my cervix at the 20 week scan and follow up if necessary.

littleluna89 · 07/08/2014 10:14

mini she was early because they trapped me in the hospital after growth scan at 36 weeks, stabbed me in the rear end with steroids and then induced me, not because she had any plans of coming early, it wasn't a particularly fun experience, and I mostly remember panicking because I'd only had 1 antenatal class and most of the baby stuff was half way across the country with relatives >.

BrixtonBunny · 07/08/2014 10:16

Chilli time is going so slowly isn't it! Though I'm sure that the second half of pregnancy (fx I make it that far) will whizz past...

Re: getting BFP. This was only our second month after my coil was taken out, and our first month of properly trying (we were incredibly lucky), we used conceive plus as I don't seem to get EWCM, I used digital OPK which showed me I ovulated really early in my cycle (might have missed it otherwise), used soft cups a couple of times, and tried to keep legs in the air for 10 mins! We also DTD every day for 2 weeks so there must have been lots of sperm swimming about... Also drank grapefruit juice before ov vas are pineapple after, though think it's an old wives tale! Gosh reading back we really did do our best. Blush

BrixtonBunny · 07/08/2014 10:18

*and ate pineapple after - stupid phone!

littleluna89 · 07/08/2014 10:46

did someone say there was a fb group?

dancestomyowntune · 07/08/2014 10:49

Well I have finally managed todo the backlog of ironing that had built up. So hot now though think I'll have a shower before doing anything else!

Our bfp has come first cycle after having mirena coil removed. I appear to be exceedingly fertile! Dh is crowing that he has super-sperm, as this is the second time I've fallen pregnant the month we've stopped using contraception! He says I only have to think about wanting another baby and boom! I'm pregnant!

I have been struggling wih the heat (especially at night) too. Lots of cool showers and a fan at the end of the bed and iced water too. I'm glad that I won't be heavily pregnant in this heat this time round. Nothing worse than being to big and hot to move!

chiliplant · 07/08/2014 12:14

Brix it sounds like you definitely did everything you could! I guess sometimes it just works!

Has anyone else got shiny skin? Shiny in a bad way......

cinnamongreyhound · 07/08/2014 12:59

Congratulations littleluna89!

I had my copper coil removed 10th June so probably a bit close to ov that cycle and then this one we just dtd every other day from cd7 onwards, I get ov pains so knew I'd ov 16th and made sure we dtd that day as well :)

cinnamongreyhound · 07/08/2014 15:11

Eek got my scan date 1st oct will make me 13 wks exactly by my calculations.

BrixtonBunny · 07/08/2014 16:05

Mines on 29th September cinnamon... Seems like such a long time to wait doesn't it! X

cinnamongreyhound · 07/08/2014 16:11

Yeah ages!! It's 9.20 so will be mad rush after school drop off :(
This time the letter says you can take your children whereas with ds2 it said one adult so we didn't take ds1, a little undecided now. I worry that if it's bad news it won't be a good place for him but it would be nice for him to see. I felt ds2 at 11weeks so hopefully by 13 weeks I'll have an idea if everything is ok.

BrixtonBunny · 07/08/2014 16:16

Mine says one adult too. You could compromise and take DS to the 20 week scan? But it's very unlikely anything will go wrong at your scan so maybe do take him, with the proviso that someone could look after him if there is bad news? X

TinyTear · 07/08/2014 16:19

Peeks in...
scared!

Anyone with a history of miscarriage, feeling still a bit fragile, I created a special thread...

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2153030-Had-a-miscarriage-and-due-in-April-2015-shall-we-try-not-to-scare-the-other-ones?

BrixtonBunny · 07/08/2014 16:27

Congrats tiny, welcome on board, and huge hugs - I'm finding it scary at the moment, so I can't begin to imagine how you're feeling. So hope this is the one for you xx

cinnamongreyhound · 07/08/2014 16:28

We took ds1 and my mum to 20wk one with ds2, the sonographer was lovely. Did all the measurement and checks and told us sex while they were outside then called them in and showed them the important bits :) I might even skive ds1 out of school for 20 wk one Wink

Sorry to hear about your mc's TinyTear, congratulations on your pregnancy! You're welcome to join us here though, I don't know about others but I'm aware of risks and will spend at least the next 8 weeks scared of mc but optimistic. Thanks for you!

dancestomyowntune · 07/08/2014 16:40

Dh just commented that I'm only meant to be a month pregnant and have already sprouted "quite the little bump"! If I didn't agree with him he might have had a frying pan on the noggin! Anyone else feel like their body is changing already? I did utter the one word question "twins?" At him!

BrixtonBunny · 07/08/2014 16:52

Dances I feel quite bloated at the moment, so I definitely feel like my tummy is even bigger than usual! More of a food & gas bump than a baby bump though Hmm Maybe it's your body's way of preparing you for a total loss of waistline to come... I just know I'm going to be one of those pregnant women that looks like a house, I'm already quite "curvy" as my tactful DP puts it Blush (fat!)
