Hi,

I've finally got my BFP and want to find others who want to chat and eat cake whilst being excited about cooking our little dragons.

I am 31yrs old, just got my BFP for #2.

Come in and sit down for the next nerve racking 9 months :)

Congratulations DontWorrryBaldrickHasACunningP and ifitsnotanarse!

I had ds1 at 26 BrixtonBunny, perfect age Wink

dancestomyowntune · 07/08/2014 07:13

Queasy :(

I didn't sleep well last night and now I've gone to make dd1 a packed a lunch and found we have no bread and she's off to summer school in an hour. Just wondering if she can manage on cheese and crackers...

BrixtonBunny · 07/08/2014 07:18

Congrats all new joiners! We're getting busy now! Grin

Cinnamon my mum had me at 22 and DP's had him at 26 so we've always said we want to have children fairly young. Smile I think this age works well for us as we're both settled in our careers - just need to buy a house, our aim is to have bought one before the year is out... Confused

BrixtonBunny · 07/08/2014 07:19

Also cinnamon did you find you were the odd one out in your friends? We have one couple of good friends who are TTC but apart from that I'm worried we're very much at a different life stage than the rest of our friends... X

cinnamongreyhound · 07/08/2014 07:36

X-post there! I'm not overly hot but I am really dehydrated! I'm drinking 2litres a day but still thirsty and my lips have dried out.

One of my cats used to bite me if ds1 was crying and I was walking trying to soothe him but other than all the animals had a sniff when we got home from hospital and they were fine. The whippet x we have now is quite a lap dog so I can imagine struggling at feeding times with her trying to get up too!

cinnamongreyhound · 07/08/2014 07:40

And again, minecraft disaster I had to fix!! Yes, I'm still in touch with my really good friends but I stopped going out with them (mainly financial though). Most of them have children now but their children are much younger than ds1 and a couple still don't have any. But in the town I live in 26 is quite old to have your first baby!

Twittwooo · 07/08/2014 07:42

I agree, two feels like quite a task at the moment but I'm sure we'll all do it. Woke up feeling very nauseous, at 5am! Still feeling rubbish - back to work next week and no idea how I'll cope. I'm even considering telling people at work as I don't know how I can hide this! We're not planning to tell anyone at all until the 12 week scan. Hope everyone else is doing well this morning.

Twittwooo · 07/08/2014 07:50

Oh, I missed a whole page there! Chicken, we have two indoor pedigree cats and they acted quite differently to DD when she came along. One just kept out of her way (and still does now she's a toddler) and the other was very curious and still wants lots of attention from her - even when she torments the cat (which we are very strict with)! However, that cat has also been very stressed and lost weight after DD was born. Then we moved house which didn't help. So they all respond differently I guess. I wish we'd got the plug in pheromone thing at the time, as that might have helped, so worth considering for your cat maybe?

scratchandsniff · 07/08/2014 07:53

Twitt last time I ended up having to tell work at about 8 weeks as I felt so crap and couldn't hide it. A few mornings I was in late as it was a mammoth task to get ready and out the house. Would really like to keep it to myself until after the scan this time, but if I feel ill again I think it'll be hard to keep it under wraps.

dancestomyowntune · 07/08/2014 07:57

When dd1 was born we had three cats. I still remember the day I bought her home from hospital, one sat on top of the tv watching her in the Moses basket, another sat by the door and every time the baby stirred they sent the other one to find me! It was very cute!

However, one was a kitten, an when dd1 was about four months old she did scratch her face (I was feeding the baby at the time and the kitten wanted my attention). So you do have to be careful. It only ever happened once but it was enough to shake me up.

ladyflower23 · 07/08/2014 08:19

Morning everyone!
It's so busy on here now! Hello Catren was hoping you would find us Smile and welcome to the other new bfpers.
Evenhas was traumatised that you can hear eachother going for a wee at your office. I would have permanent stage fright and only be able to go outside of working hours. Especially poos.
I have major bloatage too and look a lot more pregnant than I actually am. Only had trouble hiding it from about 14 weeks last time and I am now 6.5 weeks and already have a bump. It's obviously not baby yet, so I am guessing it's either air or fat from all the extra food I was eating before I stopped feeling hungry all the time and started feeling sick. Slightly worried about how fat I'm going to be after the birth and if I'll ever manage to lose it.
I am also worried about coping with 2 DCs. Somedays I think it will be lovely and other days I just don't see how I will manage (Dances you must be superhuman). I am already letting DS watch more TV because I feel crappy and just want to lie on the sofa after work. Guilt! I think it will be OK when I'm on mat leave, but when pressure of work is back on I do worry about how I will fit everything in. Might even have to cut down on my mumsnet time Shock

ladyflower23 · 07/08/2014 08:22

P.S. Is anyone else waking up in the night and having to eat?

Wherediparkmybroom · 07/08/2014 08:25

I have always had dogs, they were fine but i did introduce the new baby immediately my sister nearly had a fit when she found the dog laying on the floor with my eldest! Even more so when it wouldn't let her pick the baby up until I was in the room.

dancestomyowntune · 07/08/2014 08:35

I don't know about super human. Super crazy perhaps!

Tbh when I went from 1 to 2 Dcs dd1 was already at school (and ds1 was born right at the beginning of the autumn term) so she was at school a lot.

I think you just get on with it tbh. All of my children want another sibling and love coming from a big family so I am not really worried, although there is quite a big age gap this time (dd2 will be almost 6 by the time this one is born). We haven't told the children yet, although dd1 has guessed. She's older though, and has been very mature in helping out at home.

My biggest worry ATM is that I can't find the energy to do anything! I've got the ironing board out, sorted my ironing piles and now I'm sat next to it all trying to push myself to actually do it!

RiverRocks · 07/08/2014 08:40

Lady, not me, but I remember when I was on another thread a lady used to update us with what she had eaten in the night and I used to be Shock - she would literally get up in the night and eat a 3 course meal before going back to bed.

ChickenMe · 07/08/2014 08:44

Thanks for pet advice. Dances that is so cute. Our little lady is a lovely cat and sleeps in bed with us. I'm thinking of getting a net to cover the cot or something cos she could get in. Twitttwoo is that Feliway? I will bear it in mind if she plays up. I wonder if animals know you are preg?

cinnamon I have also been drinking like crazy and waking up with a throat like sandpaper and feeling crusty. Does that mean the baby is taking all the water?

BrixtonBunny · 07/08/2014 08:59

I too have been drinking what feels like gazillions of litres of water! And I'm still exhausted and grumpy - real pleasure to live with I'm sure Wink Trying to make myself eat healthy food with whole grains, lots of fruit and veg etc, but all I want to eat is pizza and ice cream Hmm May have eaten lots of cheesecake whilst watching GBBO....

Rustyzilla · 07/08/2014 09:02

cinnamon another one with increased thirst, and had dry lips yesterday which I rarely get as I am addicted to lip balm!

RiverRocks · 07/08/2014 09:07

Chicken have a read up about the cat nets before you get one - most people say they're not worth the hassle.

I think pets do know - for a start, with all the hormones, you must smell different. I have had a lot more 'presents' from my two in the last couple of weeks Hmm

bluefreckles · 07/08/2014 09:07

cinnamongreyhound · 07/08/2014 09:20

Nope just constipation bluefreckles Angry

We just put the cot up well in advance ChickenMe, so they were used to it and if we found a cat in they were in lots of trouble so they knew it was out of bounds before ds1 came along!

cinnamongreyhound · 07/08/2014 09:23

Oh and I guess the need for water is down to everything going on! I know blood volume increases quite a bit and you generally retain more water but I'm not sure about other things specifically.

roastpots · 07/08/2014 09:44

Someone on my antenatal thread when I was expecting DD1 suggested putting silver foil over the cot mattress when you first put it up - if the cat jumps in they hate it and then (theoretically) never return! Might be worth a try?

Made a big mistake by not having breakfast this morning. Felt awful in the car on the way to work - ended up having to stop at Starbucks for emergency fruit bread!
