Onwards into the 2nd trimester, where hopefully the bumps will overtake the poo factories!

Thank you everyone. My feet seem fine this morning. Both feet had been swollen the night before and they were both a little swollen all day yesterday. But when I woke up after falling asleep in the armchair last night the left foot was three times bigger than the right! I think it was because I was sat in an armchair all day and did nothing else. All other days since the stitch I have either been laying in bed on my left side &/or pottering around a little after DS. After a brief panic about it I decided to moved the two back cushions off the sofa into my bedroom and slept with my feet up as high as I comfortably could. This morning they are both back to normal size. I assume thats a good sign that it's nothing too bad?

Given that it's sunday I was thinking unless it gets really bad today or tonight or anything else happens (he way things are going with me I wouldn't be shocked if it did) I think i'll just wait until Monday and call the Dr's or Midwives.

I have been putting off buying things for the baby other than a nappy bag and one outfit that I could keep under my bed just incase the stitch didn't work and the unthinkable was to happen. Using the same theory as with not really telling many people - feeling that it would all somehow be easier to cope with if less people knew and without having a house full of baby things. But now I have a corner of my room full of some of the bigger baby items that I can't hide I think I'm going to give in and buy some more things and catch up with you all.

OMG I'M DYING. MIL has text this morning. Apparently it's Forgiveness day on Steve Wright's Sunday love songs Hmm and so "how about we call a truce?"

(In other words, I've realised what a massive ass I've been AGAIN but I'm not going to actually apologise. And I can't justify sending anymore nasty emails since you didn't rise to my last one....)

Ha!

rumisyum · 03/08/2014 14:22

Rpopz your MIL really is a special one.

K8 glad to hear the swelling settled down! Hope it stays that way. Make sure you're drinking enough water too - paradoxically being dehydrated can increase swelling, and it's so easy to get a bit dry in this heat.

Spent the morning with another friend and their 4yo and toddler today. Much less exhausting! I think I'll have to take parenting tips from them. Wink Also found out that a friend who lives nearby is almost as pregnant as I am! Looking forward to meeting up with her. It'll be nice to have a pregnancy buddy. Smile

Hi all, haven't caught up properly but just checking in after a few days away in Liverpool.

DHs sister very excited about the baby which was lovely as we weren't sure how she'd react.

Still puking, threw up a lovely dinner last night and had a huge cry. I had a really long day yesterday and was really tired, then had a massive I hate being pregnant meltdown. It's dawning on me there's still ages to go and I'm still almost as sick and tired as I was at the beginning and I'm just emotionally exhausted from it all. Then I cried for feeling guilty about hating being pregnant, argh it's a minefield! Anyone else in the same boat? Or am I just an evil witch?!

Saraswati - it's definitely not just you. I'm seriously fed up, lacking energy, feeling sick, and generally feeling very sorry for myself.

Can't believe we've got the whole of this year and then some more to go!

Minibagel · 03/08/2014 15:36

Afternoon ladies! Well I must have been wearing an unflattering dress yesterday because everyone was asking when the baby was due. I lied and said I was 5 months not 4 just to make it seem a bit less bad that I'm visibly enormous already! Has anyone else had unsolicited comments about their bump from people that don't know yet?

Sorry to hear about your ms saras and everyone else still suffering. It is so hard being pregnant, I found the physical downsides continued throughout even if I wasn't sick it was swellings, aches, round ligament pain rpopz when I moved suddenly...and people wonder why we go through this more than once. We have to just do what we can to stay comfortable at the time I suppose. And focus on the fact it's all worth having a baby in our arms at the end of it all.

17 weeks.

KatnissEvermean · 03/08/2014 15:49

Just popped to Kiddicare and ended up buying LOADS. I didn't intend to but it was so cheap. We got a moses basket, stand, bedding set, bouncer and play mat for £125.

I really wanted one of the bedroom sets but they only had the wardrobe left and it's much more expensive online. They said they are still getting deliveries of stock but they don't know what's in them.

RPopz · 03/08/2014 18:30

I brought some maternity jeans today... 12quid in M&Ps sale! Sadly I think my skinny jeans days are numbered... even with the hair bobble trick!

Minibagel · 03/08/2014 19:43

I worried this bus might grind to a stop after setting up the facebook page (anyone else want an invite?) but look over 700 messages on this thread already. Woohooo! We talk sp much :)

Starbright24 · 03/08/2014 21:46

Hey all. Been away on holiday and got loads of catching up to do.
K8 - keep resting.
Saras - still feeling rotten and not kept any food down today inspite of being better for most the time on holiday. Hope you and everyone - including me - feel better soon

Sorry to hear some of you are still feeling sick! Hope that eases soon!
Had a really busy weekend singing at the cathedral (which is getting more difficult with bump squeezing organs around) & yesterday evening I was exhausted. Contemplating phoning in work today but after 9hrs sleep I'm a lot brighter so off to work I go! Only this week in then 2 weeks off!

OMG! My ms had always just been feeling sick and a couple of near misses but after posting at 7am I had a major vom session before leaving for work! I presume it's a hormone/growth spurt that set me off... yuk!

KatnissEvermean · 04/08/2014 09:56

Not feeling work today at all! Luckily it's our quietest day of the month (before the rest of the week gets really hectic!) so I get to sit at my laptop not doing much.

I've been having crazy dreams. Had a dream that I went to visit my employer's biggest rivals with everyone I knew, just to see how they did things. They ended up showing us a really gross birth video for some reason and everyone kept pointing at me and saying "that will be you soon!".

Argh cheshire it's the worst! hope you feel better soon.

I have called in sick today, I haven't had a day off sick my whole pregnancy despite my horrific ms so felt I deserved a cheeky day off after feeling like shit the last few days. I feel better already, slept like a log and have done some yoga and pilates already. Going to have lunch then a long bath with my hynobirthing relaxation meditation, I wish everyday was like this!

The last few days have shown me I need to listen to my body more and not get so frustrated that I can't do all the things I used to do. I'm pregnant and need to give myself a break more often!!

Who's scan is next? Mine is a week on weds, feeling very anxious about it already :s

Ooh, glad I'm not the only one struggling with work today!! Just cannot get my mind into it at all - problem is, its month-end and I have management accounts to prepare - not fun!!!

Hopefully we all get through Monday unscathed!!

Sorry to hear some people are still suffering so badly with ms, I still have the odd sickly day, but on the whole its not so bad. Fx it starts easing for you all soon

Random question - has anyone given any thought to baby monitors yet?? My DM is very excited and has found one she wants to get us, but its one that has all sorts of sensors and movement alarms, etc, and I'm just worried it will make me completely paranoid more paranoid than normal. Was just wondering what other people's thoughts on them were.

Work? My brain has gone on vacation. Which is so unhelpful when I need to be rather switched on & thinking clearly. Ugh. And I'm less than halfway through till mat leave starts, so help me.

saras sounds like you definitely did the right thing today, good for you.

Bleurgh, sorry cheshire and the others still suffering from MS. I really hope it eases up for you guys soon.

tams I think if we get one it'll be a pretty basic model. Maybe we'll stretch to video, but I don't need extra alarm things to fuel my anxiety.

I think I'm finally properly be-bumped. Smile Everyone's noticing & commenting on it now. Which is nice to finally look pregnant, rather than everyone just wondering if I'd been at all the pies lately.

Speaking of which, time for lunch!

Hello Ladies

Am I far too late to join in? I'm due on the 11 January, DC2.

If there is a facebook group maybe its easier for me to join that?

cheshirem2b · 04/08/2014 14:40

Amanda welcome to the chattiest thread! You're not too later to join... jump on board!
