Onwards into the 2nd trimester, where hopefully the bumps will overtake the poo factories!

Morning all. So on top of this annoyingly painful recovery from the cervical stitch and bleeding etc... I have a horrible UTI. They picked it up at the hospital when I went in that night over a week ago and the results got lost somewhere between the lab telling my Dr's and them telling me. It wasn't until Thursday afternoon when I got the shivers, was retching and was literally delirious due to a high temperature. Poor DS (11) had to call my parents as I was talking total gibberish and couldn't stop shaking and he didn't know what to do. I remember very little of it. Thankfully my parents are only 15mins away. Just as my mum got here the Dr's called with the results of the urine they had dipped the day before when I was signed off work saying I needed antibiotics ASAP. Thankfully cam feel the antibiotics working today.

DS is on his way to Kent today with my parents for my Nephews first birthday party. Really wish I was up to going to. Oh well.

Dec Oh no I hope you find your ring.

MightyQuin Sorry to hear France was still stressful. But what wonderful news your having a little girl how exciting.

Burmama Welcome

rumisyum · 02/08/2014 09:59

Decmummy hope you find your ring! I lost my first engagement ring and was GUTTED. I lived without it for a few months, bu eventually coughed up & bought myself a replica (luckily the jeweller had kept a record of the design my hubs had come up with) and that was the best investment. I know it's just a symbolic "thing", but they do have such sentimental value. I hope yours turns up very soon.

Hello Mighty! I'm glad the trip to see your mum wasn't too bad. and a daughter! How exciting. Smile Loving all the gender news cropping up. I hope I can hold out with ours! As for Gaza... I can barely read about it, I feel heartbroken every time I do. It must be hard having to deal with it at work.

Welcome Burmama!

Oof, you're having a tough time of things K8. I hope the antibiotics kick the infection asap.

Short notice of friends coming over later. Guess I better peel myself off this couch & go tidy up & bake something!

Hello everyone! I haven't posted for a couple of weeks because of a mixture of camping trips and busy work, but I've still been following everyone's news!

I definitely have a little bump now as of the last week, even when I haven't eaten anything. I've had to start making use of the hairband to wear my clothes - thanks for the tip everyone! Secretly I can't wait for it to grow so that I look properly pregnant Smile

Don't know if anyone else has been wondering how much weight they should be gaining. My mw was a bit vague, but I found this really useful website which tells you exactly how much you should be gaining each week. I am very reassured by data Smile you can tell I'm an engineer.

mademoiselle thank you for your message, it really touched me. I hope you have a relaxing family holiday together.

Right, we are off to a music festival now, which is conveniently being held down the road from our house! Yay for bump's first festival - it is weird to think that the baby can hear the music now!

Ooh I like that website
Don't like the results I'm getting tho! Need to buy and eat healthier snacks- demolished chocolate digestives for breakfast !
Really need to keep an eye on weight- don't know how I'm gna push this baby out anyway!

HenriettaTurkey · 02/08/2014 15:27

Sunshine I've also heard of people using loom bands on their buttons Grin

Good website that: my weight gain is right at bottom of their recommendation which i am pleased with: but then I've had ms so imagine it'll ramp up in the later months!

I've also had a ms resurgence the last 2 days after 10 days of it easing Hmm

Anyone else?

Loobyloo893 · 02/08/2014 15:59

Me me me Henrietta! Had felt fine for ages then was really sick a couple of nights ago and felt nauseous ever since. Urgh! Although I haven't been feeling very pregnant so at least it's reminding me that I am. It didn't help that it was half hour after dtd and now DH thinks sex makes me ill lol Wink

Oh dear, I'm a few weeks past their recommendations. And I've been eating healthily & exercising! SadAngry Oh well. Maybe it'll settle down if I keep trying to be healthy. My MW hasn't been remotely bothered about my weight, she didn't weigh me at my 16 week check. Hmm

Have fun at the festival sunshine!

Hello everyone just had to skim read loads of pages- guilty if spending too much time on Facebook!
Lovely to hear from you mademoiselle , wishing you all the best and please keep stopping by! Xx
And welcome burmama to the chattiest thread EVER!

Dec2013mummy · 02/08/2014 18:06

Well after a day of retracing my steps, going to several shops etc and being a bit if a hormonal wreck (I know over a ring, stupid hormones) my Dh found my ring :)
Best thing was it was in a glass!! I am obsessed with ice at the minute and so put loads in my drink last night. Thankfully, I didn't drink the ring! Could have been disastrous!! I have taken my wedding and engagement rings to be resized today. They were 4 sizes too big now. I have no idea how that happened as I haven't lost weight. Anyway, a happy ending :)
Sorry to eat about those whose ms has reappeared. I felt really rough yesterday but I wasn't actually sick. Who said pregnancy was all glowing....

Fantastic news Dec you lucky lady!! xx

mummyk8 · 02/08/2014 20:44

Oh Dec I'm so happy for you. You must be so relieved.

rum Sounds like a lovely afternoon.

DS and my parents came home from my Nephews 1st birthday in Kent about a 3 hour drive away with the boot full of lots of nephews baby bit's he's out grown. A bouncing vibrating chair, Safari Arch & Quilt play mat , the Baby Weavers Moses Basket and antique stand (will need to get a new moses mattress) and some blue bedding etc... really nice but it's now hit me how badly we need to move somewhere bigger. Eeeek!

mummyk8 · 02/08/2014 23:06

Can't sleep and my left foot is really swollen. Wondering if thats just a pregnancy thing even though it's only the one foot or if it's a thing to worry about. Anyone else had this?

Shallan · 02/08/2014 23:36

I think swollen feet is pretty common, but it haven't heard of it being one foot only.

Did the swelling happen gradually, or suddenly? Sudden swelling can be a sign of pre-eclampsia, so it was sudden I think you should head to a and e ( which I appreciate is no fun on a Saturday night, but pre-eclampsia is very serious).

Hopefully it was gradual and just one of those random pregnancy things.

Shallan · 02/08/2014 23:39

Actually my dh just mentioned if one foot is swollen it could be a blood clot so you should call your dr.

Hope it turns out to be nothing, but worth checking....

Dec2013mummy · 02/08/2014 23:56

Oh no mummyk8 hope you're ok :( I agree you should at least call ooh and see what they say.

Bloody hell mummyk8 you're in the wars aren't you. I hope the swelling has gone down this morning and you're feeling better Thanks

Dec that's great you found your ring. I'm an ice cube obsessive atm too, I've an entire freezer draw full of bags of pre-made ice. Can't bear a drink without it, odd as I've never been fussed before!!

RPopz · 03/08/2014 09:08

Goodness K8 - hope it's nothing Thanks

Great news about all your free spoils Smile We got quite a bit of stuff from DHs stepsister and it really takes the pressure off financially - though I think we'll prob need a bigger house too!!

RPopz · 03/08/2014 09:09

I'm with you all on the ice cubes too Hmm I think it stems from ms... when anything lukewarm was the absolute enemy! Drinks had to be freezing cold or boiling hot and nothing in between....

Loobyloo893 · 03/08/2014 09:45

Oh mummyk8 hope you're ok.

Another one loving ice cubes here. Still can't stand tea or coffee, and all drinks have to be ice cold.
