Onwards into the 2nd trimester, where hopefully the bumps will overtake the poo factories!

Stats here.

We've not seen her but some people a few streets away have. She's never out when we go looking though.. I'm certain someone is keeping her in their house. It's killing me... she's wearing a collar with our address on so is obviously owned!!! Angry

Haha, is she meant to be working with you?? Bucket of water might do the trick Wink

ViviPru · 28/07/2014 10:04

Oh no, what a horrendous situation Sad lets hope she's safe somewhere and comes home soon.

Yes she is working with us! I've got to go out soon too and was hoping to have her well set up with a project by now. I'm quite shocked, I always thought she was generally pretty diligent! Glad teenage parenting is a long way off for us yet!

Babysprout · 28/07/2014 10:11

Looking at Children's centres was a great tip dec2013 I hadn't heard of them but have just checked and there are 2 near me with lots of activities going on Smile.

Hearing some of you are waiting to find out gives me strength. Everyone we tell our news to who have kids already think we're weird for wanting a surprise. I worry if we find out we'd pick a name and I'd end up telling everyone even though we definitely want that to be a secret. I'm rubbish with secrets!!

vivipru she sounds just like the 15/16 y/o pupils I teach!! Good luck!!

Has anyone had experience of NCT?

SK28 · 28/07/2014 11:11

Sprout Pram-wise I did lots of research this weekend and I think I want to try out the Easywalker June, the Oyster and the Icandy. With the last two, they both have models thatEnvy can convert to a tandem, and while this is our first we would (fingers crossed) like a second with a reasonably small gap so knowing we could convert easily in future could be useful. I feel better that I've narrowed it down for now, even if I end up broadening the list again in future! I also have a changing bag but actually I bought that already - I just saw it and loved it while we were ttc so it's been stowed away still in its wrapping since then :) Haven't yet bought anything else - generally speaking trying to hold off till after 20 week scan but couldn't resist the pram window-shopping!

SK28 · 28/07/2014 11:13

I'd prefer not to find out the gender - I like surprises :) and I don't want everyone else to know but not sure how good we are at keeping secrets! But dh wants to find out... We have 5 weeks to decide who wins!

Loobyloo893 · 28/07/2014 11:22

Sprout, I agree with going to childrens centres. They normally have lots on and once you start going and chatting to people you'll soon find out about lots of other things on as well. Your health visitor should know of some groups aswell.

Emmie- I love the donkey! Our dd will be 20months when our boy arrives (so cool writing that!) so we needed a double too. We have gone for the britax b agile :)

Mummy- I hope you are feeling better today and managed to sleep?

Rpopz- argh I feel annoyed for you! Hope she shows soon. X

ViviPru · 28/07/2014 12:39

Thanks, Sprout! She finally surfaced at 10 to 11. Feel a bit taken the piss out of, we're doing them quite a big favour and I'd never have done that when I was 16!!

RPopz · 28/07/2014 13:45

Oooh that is a bit cheeky. Shock Hope you're being an evil slave driver now to make up for it Wink

Having an OBEM marathon so at least I have something different to cry about for a couple of hours! Totally blaming my hormones for this epic overreaction....

rumisyum · 28/07/2014 14:50

Oh man, Pru. That is a bit outrageous. Keep her working late to make up for it!

Hello Sprout! We're also having a surprise. Smile And we're either really late or really early with the sprogging, depending on whose friends we compare ourselves to. Some of DH's friends have 3 kids already, my closest girlfriends aren't even married or in long term relationships yet. So... funny sort of in-between place we're in. Nevermind, I'm encouraged by Dec2013's tales of making mummy friends that it'll all work out & I won't be awfully lonely looking after baby.

Rpopz if someone's deliberately keeping your cat away from you, that's just evil! Curses on them.

I'm also knackered. Had started feeling pretty good after 12-ish weeks, but the last week or so I've been really exhausted. I think it's either the heat, or baby's having a bit of a growth spurt, or both. Either way, I'm napping when I can. A friend with a young baby told me I need to hone my napping skills now, so now I'm seeing napping as an active, constructive thing to do, and not just being lazy. Grin

Babysprout · 28/07/2014 14:52

Cheeky!! Was she even apologetic? What type of work is it? Could you make her make up her hours at the end of the day so she gets a full days work?

[rpopz] DH and I watched our first ever the other day and we were left traumatised as we didn't realised we'd see the birth so graphically!! We're determined to watch more as we now feel so unprepared!!

Dec2013mummy · 28/07/2014 14:52

As I said before I go to baby sensory. I was a bit dubious as it's not the cheapest at £60 for 10 weeks, but it's brill. Went this morning and Ds was as mesmerised as ever. It runs all over the country, here the link definitely worth checking out.
I did an antenatal yoga through nct and that was fab too :)

Babysprout · 28/07/2014 14:53

Ha yes I feel a bit sorry for her wading through the dry as hell Adobe software tutorials I've made her do

p.s. Yours isn't an epic overreaction, it's an awful thing to be going through. Enjoy the OBEM though!

RPopz · 28/07/2014 15:18

DH is home now so trying to cheer the fuck up. I don't know if I'm clutching at straws with this cat theft thing... it's so warm and everyone has their windows and doors open... how could she be shut in somewhere?? Argh I dunno. It's driving me bonkers. Would prob have been better off going to work today!

Ha, don't feel guilty Viv she has to learn Wink

rumisyum · 28/07/2014 15:24

Totally added those baby classes as an extra column on the stats google doc thingy, in case anyone else is interested in remembering them come next year! You guys are an absolute font of useful info. Thanks

physically not feeling any better but the midwife found the heartbeat right away and seems well and healthy with Baby and that was such a relief. She also explained a lot more about whats going on with my body and why things feel the way they feel far better than they did at the hospital. She was just lovely and I really do feel a lot better about things :) just have to take it very easy.

Oh forgot 17+1

LulusMiniEgg · 28/07/2014 16:05

Glad you are feeling better mummy

Rpopz that is not on if someone has taken your cat, an old lady tried to steal ours by feeding them tuna, it made me so cross but then I realised she had dementia. She soon gave one of them back when she was bitten by a fox and needed treatment!
Also I know that cats find their way home by walking on circles until they find their home, maybe she hasn't quite got to you yet?

My little one has really started moving around this weekend! It's like being constantly tickled from inside. Cute but kind of annoying in a nice way!

Ooh keep just looked at the buggy you have gone for and I think I may have changed my mind! I did want the mountain buggy duet but in trying (and failing) to keep coats down. 2 maternity leaves and moving house in the space I 2 years is not cheap!! To be honest I think I prefer the look of the britax... I want to go and get one now!! Just a heads up for anyone who has a kiddicare close, they are shutting all stores (bar 1) so expect lots of bargains :)

KatnissEvermean · 28/07/2014 16:38

This thread moves so fast, I've missed a lot in two days.

I had to attend a fair for work yesterday, which involved six hours of travelling and it completely wiped me out. Work was a struggle today!

I've been struggling to sleep because of the heat and when I got home yesterday my DP had snapped us up an air conditioner he'd found going cheap on a Facebook buy and sell page. He is a good one.

None of my friends are married or have children yet. I don't know any babies at all, so I think everyone is going to spoil this one because of the novelty!

Really hoping your cat is back soon RPopz

Saraswati · 28/07/2014 16:39

Glad all was well mummy and your midwife was reassuring.

I bit the bullet and told my boss today - she was so excited and really supportive, not what I expected at all considering I've only been here a few months and am on a contract. However I can fulfill the contract before the baby is born so I guess that's why she wasn't bothered. She also thought it was hilarious when I told her that we call the baby Jesus lol.

Sorry about your kitty rpopz am a mummy to a kitty and 2 dogs myself so I know you must be beside yourself. Cats do return though even if someone else feeds them for a bit, hopefully she'll come back soon and be pestering you for food again!

cheshirem2b · 28/07/2014 16:39

Dec I think they are just keeping the Aintree store - I got an email advertising the store location yesterday and it looks massive! So need to go and investigate!

We are trying to wait buying the big ticket items until after 20 week scan which coincides with when we come back from holiday so works quite well.

mummyk8 glad you found the mw helpful and hope you feel better soon.
