Onwards into the 2nd trimester, where hopefully the bumps will overtake the poo factories!

Oh K8 sorry it wasn't particularly reassuring for you! Hope you're not in so much pain now. I'd think ringing the midwife is Def worth a try.

I've had a mega kindle downloading spree and got a few of the books you lovely ladies have recommended. Looking forward to reading them... tho I've already got about 3 on the go haha.

Still no kitty Sad Were meant to be going to DHs Mum and stepdad's caravan today but have decided not to as we're both so mopey about the cat. Relieved in a way as they reacted quite strangely when we told them we were pg and not seen them since....

Is it today you find out the sex j200?? Smile Exciting times!!

Oh. mummy sorry the hospital didn't help, I hope the bleeding has lessened this morning Thanks

Your poor kitty rpopz I hope she returns soon! I was devastated when mine ran away but she came back after a couple of days.

I had a lovely day with my family yesterday, my 3 year old nephew stuck stickers all over my belly, apparently the baby likes stickers. He's also decided it's a girl and we should call it ninny, not sure ninny will be going on our girls name list!! He was so sweet all day, sometimes he's shy around me but insisted I bathed him and put him to bed, he doesn't let anyone put him to bed apart from his mother, they were all so shocked when he asked for me! I think he was sensing the pregnant mother vibes which was really nice.

Had yoga yesterday, we did lots of cervix visualisations, made everything seem very very real!

blizy · 27/07/2014 09:38

K8, im sorry the hospital was crap. Can you phone the EPU? My unit will take self referrals until 17 weeks. Hope you are feeling better today .

SK28 · 27/07/2014 09:52

mummyk8 Hope you get some reassurance soon from mw or others.

I've been awake for hours researching prams and buggies - we took our first trip to Mothercare yesterday and now I'm so overwhelmed with the number of options and things to consider! Feels like an important decision, really want to get it right...

mummyk8 · 27/07/2014 09:59

Thank you everyone. I just looked at private scans around here. They do 4D scans for just under £100 quite close by in fact so close it's at the top of my road. I just really feel like I need to take the 'do nothing' advice as literally as possible as feel even worse for the car ride there and back and walking around the hospital yesterday. I have my 16 week appointment with the midwives tomorrow at the local birthing centre so thats not to long to wait. Mostly trying not to panic over this bleeding. But it's so hard not to worry that it's not all form the internal (has anyone else had bleeding like this from an internal exam?) and if it is why and where exactly is it coming from? It's sending me loopy.

Feeling dreadfully thankful I have my parents and sisters living close by to help out with DS and shopping etc... It's also really nice to be able to share on here. I haven't told to many of my friends I'm pregnant yet , because I was bleeding the first 9 weeks finding out I needed this op I felt like anything going wrong would be easier to deal with if fewer people around me knew... in fact only about 4 other people know outside my family. I know I can't keep putting it off. But although I have a bit of bump I lost 9st last year and was in the process of losing more when I totally by surprise found out this little one was inside me so most of my clothes are way to baggy for anyone to tell right now.

RPopz So sorry about your cat x

rumisyum · 27/07/2014 10:24

Oh gosh K8, that's so rubbish that they wouldn't even check for the heartbeat so you could rest a little easier. Utter bollocks. The fact that they think the stitch is holding is good news, and the cervix can bleed like buggery during pregnancy as far as I know, so hopefully the bleeding is all due to that. Hopefully your midwife will be able to reassure you with a listen to the heartbeat tomorrow & if not it sounds like there is the option of a private scan very nearby, which is helpful. I hope you're taking it really easy today. I know it's useless to say "don't worry", but I do hope today isn't too horribly anxious for you.

Hope your kitty turns up today Rpopz.

Thanks everyone. Sorry feel a bit silly making such a fuss when other people have much bigger stuff going on. x

MIL has been really nasty about us not going over today. We text and rang her and her husband last night about 8pm but both of them had their phones off. Presumably they only got our messages this morning and DH has woken up to a torrent of text and voicemail abuse from her!! Apparently he should have just gone on his own (and left me at home alone!!?) and she's "been waiting for her to let him down again... and now he's done it". Then the voicemail "oh I suppose you're still in bed... I thought you'd be out looking for your cat... you've really let us down, just remember, THESE THINGS BITE BACK" Confused Shock

We were only one going for a fucking walk on the beach!! I know not everyone can understand how attached we get to animals but she has plenty of her own pets... I just can't understand her response. Sad

blizy · 27/07/2014 11:38

RPopz, wow she sounds like a a real charmer! Ignore, ignore and ignores me more. Hope your cat comes home soon, I would be utterly devestated if my boy went missing. Thinkng about you.

RPopz · 27/07/2014 12:35

I don't know what's going on with her Blizy I honestly don't. When we told her I was pg a few weeks ago the response was "Oh. I thought you might be" ...... That was literally it. Her FIRST grandchild. I'm so done with her.

ViviPru · 27/07/2014 13:27

Bloody hell RPopz selfish cow! She sounds like a royal pain. I'm so sad to hear your cat is still missing, must be awful for you, please don't feel like you're making a fuss, it's a big deal!

mummyk8 what a worrying, horrible time for you. I hope you're feeling better soon Thanks

cheshirem2b · 27/07/2014 13:48

K8 hope you're feeling better soon

RPoz there is no need for some people. Pay no attention! Hope you find kitty!

I was singing this morning and nearly passed out at the end of the second service! Had to stop singing and prop myself up. Think it was a mixture of pg hormones, not enough breakfast and the heat. I'm fine now and had my lunch. Been asked to go back this afternoon (at £50 a service I can't refuse) so having 30 mins to myself before going back.

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your day!

Keepontrudging · 27/07/2014 14:42

Mummyk8 - take it easy! Oh- and well done in your previous 9 stone weight loss. Wow!

Rpopz- aww I can imagine how you will be feeling. Do hope kitty comes back.

Ladies I am thinking of Jude for a boy! Dh and I are in agreement of this one so it's looking likely!!!

Jude is awesome ! I'm married to a scouser so we are big Beatles fans here, DH would love a Jude!

Keepontrudging · 27/07/2014 15:10

Sara I was born in Liverpool and dad's side are all Irish- scousers. They would most definitely approve :)

rumisyum · 27/07/2014 15:39

Rpopz How absolutely outrageous of your MIL. Best ignored, if you can! Hmm

Keep you've got me singing now. The DH isn't very appreciative. Grin

RPopz · 27/07/2014 16:07

Thanks ladies. I can't believe how nasty and rude she's been. DH told her to show a bit more compassion for me and she said "I couldn't possibly have been more compassionate!" HA!

Jude is a lovely name Keep Smile

Minibagel · 27/07/2014 17:08

Mummyk8 I hope the mw will reassure you with the doppler tomorrow and you are resting as well as you can x

rpopz she sounds selfish to say the least. Any news on the cat? Fingers crossed they will come back any day and act like absolutely nothing has happened, in true cat style. It must be so worrying in the meantime Sad

Me and DH took some leaflets out earlier to post through people's letter boxes and a couple of people said they'd seen her these last few days. So I'm at least reassured she's in the area though she's a bit far from her usual territory... Currently roasting a chicken in the hope of luring her back Wink

Phoned my Mum earlier and she said "oh don't worry, she's probably just found somewhere else to live!!" Not sure if that was supposed to be reassuring Hmm lol. On the plus side she's sending me the money for the pram tomorrow Grin

Don't think I'm going to work tomorrow. I'm so tired and headachey from crying and stressing all weekend. I'll probably get bitched about to high heaven but Fuck it. Everyone else does as they pleases... bout time I played the pregnancy card!

RPopz · 27/07/2014 17:30

Who was it who recommended Beyond the Sling? Where did you get it? Amazon don't seem to stock it atm.... Sad

Babysprout · 27/07/2014 17:59

Hi ! I'm a mumsnet newbie and pregnant for the first time . Thought I'd just post to say hello! Due 27/1/2015 so only just fit into this group.

I've had a good look through the posts so far and it's so encouraging hearing other people's stories - makes me feel less alone in pregnancy as I'm the first in my friendship group to do this!

Thank you and look forward to reading more :-)

Minibagel · 27/07/2014 18:23

Hello sprout welcome to the chattiest antenatal group on mumsnet! How have you been so far with this pregnancy?

Babysprout · 27/07/2014 18:31

I've been absolutely fine - queasy most days but that's starting to let up. I've been tired but interestingly more tired since school holidays started (I'm a teacher not a school pupil...). I know some people have awful ms so I feel very lucky and the occasional queasiness makes me remember sprout (our nickname for baby) is there and everything is ok :-)

Is this your first? Have you had ms?
