Aww no mads! Think of you all . X

Keepontrudging · 15/07/2014 21:15

Lol vivi!!!

MightyQuin1201 · 15/07/2014 21:39

Oh Mads I hope they sort him out soon.

Thanks again for the kind words. I have been to al-anon in the past Keep, but I really went off it. Fool as I may be, I have just done my online check in for France. I'm not going with DH, but friends of ours are at my Mum's now and it will be nice to see them. I'm going to discuss things with my Mum face to face and have already told her that I'm leaving immediately if she drinks or if I even suspect it. I will just have to see how it goes, but if I have to cut her out of our life I will, especially when dc arrives.

MightyQuin1201 · 15/07/2014 21:43

And thank you Saras for your kind words of support. Growing up with alcoholics is just horrific. It's neglect and abuse and terribly frightening. How anyone could put a small child through that is just cruel and selfish. Your husband must be feeling terribly sad at his lack of mother.

cheshirem2b · 15/07/2014 22:04

mad hope your boy is home in bed soon and he is better soon.

I'm home alone this evening (other than the cats!) and am stressing myself out... Worrying about test results, worrying about money when I'm on maternity leave, fretting over anything! Hormones!

ViviPru · 15/07/2014 22:45

It sounds like a very sensible approach, Mighty, it must be a relief to have made a decision.

Mad! Oh no! Hope you got seen to quickly and he's ok now!

SK28 · 15/07/2014 23:17

Hi ladies Smile Need some advice! My hubby has confessed he feels weird about having sex because of the baby. I'm 13+1 and have had a bump for about a week; he says it's since we had our scan rather than to do with my changing appearance. Wondering if anyone else's other half has felt similar and how (if!) you've reassured him it's okay and not weird...

Glad DS is ok mad !

Hope all goes well with your mum mighty and that she really listens to you this time. I hope she sees your new baby as a new beginning and takes you seriously.

I loved my day off yesterday, don't want to go to work today :( only 4.5 months of work left for me! (Then the real fun starts!!)

16+5

MightyQuin1201 · 16/07/2014 07:06

Thanks Saras, at least there's wifi there so I can distract myself with mumsnet!

When I was on my trip with my boss, she helpfully referred to my maternity leave as a relaxing year off! She's not particularly maternal and when I've taken the odd day off when my ms has been bad she's helpfully suggested dry toast.... And referred to me being off 'sick' - yes, putting the word sick in inverted commas. My close friend at work, who is in my team (there are only 4 of us) is telling my boss today about her pregnancy- she's due 3 days before me! Boss is going to FREAK! Half her team off relaxing for a year...

blizy · 16/07/2014 07:15

Mad, I'm glad your little guy is ok.

Mighty, I'd love to be off "relaxing" for a year. I'm only taking 3 months off, I will finish up at Christmas time and return after the Easter holidays. I am a childminder, so I will still be with baby. I'm telling my work parents this week, this might be interesting!

j200 · 16/07/2014 07:15

Morning all Smile

Mads hope all is ok xx

Weighed myself this morning and have put on 5lbs since booking!
I know some most of this is cake but wondered what the average is on here?

KateTheHuman · 16/07/2014 07:16

I need new trousers!

Morning all! :)

SK28 I'm actually the same as your hubby! I know it won't hurt the baby or anything but the thought of doing it when baby is inside me just feels so odd! Haha!

j200 · 16/07/2014 07:23

SK8 yes we haven't dtd yet either, I am scared especially as I had bleeding two weeks ago, may try after 16 weeks mw appt as worried Dh might start going mad...

ChineseFireball · 16/07/2014 07:38

hope your little one is ok Mad. Need to read through and catch up properly really so sorry if I've missed anything.
Someone asked about weight gain...I stood on the scales yesterday and I've gained 13lb since I found out. No idea about since booking because my scales are a bit rubbish and always weigh differently to others. I'm 16+5.
Have a lovely hol, calling Smile

Starbright24 · 16/07/2014 07:51

Only dtd once for me and that was actually evening after scan. I think dh felt happier about it once he had seen all was ok. He's a 3 times a year kind of guy really. It's amazing I actually became pregnant!!

rumisyum · 16/07/2014 08:24

LOL at "relaxing" year off. What a joke.

SK28 my DH has been nervous because of the bleeding I had, but we've successfully had a go once recently. Frequency is way down compared to normal, though! Which is kind of shame given some of the sexy dreams I've been having.

j200 I was thinking of weighing myself tomorrow, so I can let you know. It's bound to be between 7-10lbs up from pre-pregnancy weight, though. Not sure how much since booking in.

So glad your little one's OK, Mad.

Have a lovely holiday, calling! And I hope you enjoy your time in France as well, Mighty, and your mum doesn't spoil things.

Oof cheshire, I get those moments as well. Hope today you're feeling a bit less worried about things.

14 weeks today!

phoebs88 · 16/07/2014 08:26

We've only dtd once...although have tried a couple of times recently. I get really distracted and start worrying about baby even tho I know he's fine!

I lost 2 lbs early on when I wasn't eating and have now put it back on, but that is it so far. 13+6.

SK28 · 16/07/2014 08:26

Kate and j200 - I'm not worried or scared myself but maybe I'm being too hard on him if you guys find the thought a bit weird too! I'm still hoping he'll change his mind and see it the way starbright's does - don't want to go the next 6 months never dtd!

Minibagel · 16/07/2014 09:12

The nhs maternity pages has advice about sex in pregnancy but its up to the two of you. If you feel happy about it and he needs reassurance, that might help him come around (pardon the pun)

KateTheHuman · 16/07/2014 09:19

Oh my dreams are totally making up for lack of deeding tee hee Grin

Saraswati · 16/07/2014 09:37

We've only dtd about 5 times since my bfp and most of that has been since our 12 week scan. Also I've been so sick that just the thought of it would make me puke! I don't think DH is worried about hurting the baby, but I think he will freak out when it gets to the stage of the baby kicking him lol. My friend only dtd 3 times in her whole pregnancy she told me the other day!

j200 I lost about 8 pounds in the first few weeks from sickness and have put back on about 5 pounds of that, so got another 2 or 3 pounds to go before I'm back at my pre-pregnancy weight. I'm finally starting to feel like eating again, yesteday I totally pigged out, so I imagine it won't be long before I've caught up and added some :)
Although my mw didn't weigh me yesterday I chatted to her about weight and she said everyone is very didferent in the first trimester but if you haven't gained much by the second trimester and you're a normal bmi you should aim for about a pound a week from the second trimester on, gaining a total of about 2 - 2.5 stone by your due date.

mummyk8 · 16/07/2014 09:42

Mad Glad to hear DS is ok.

SK28 Hopefully reassuring DH all will be ok and showing sensible advice on things like the NHS website will help.

As for here sex is totally out of the question I have the cervical suture on Monday until I'm 38 weeks and have it taken out. :(

Scan and quad blood test tomorrow. Nervous and excited at the same time. Scan isn't until 3.15 but I'm going on my own via public transport (learning to drive has been on my todo list for about 18 years now!) so hopefully making sure I get on the right train and busses etc... will take my mind of the long wait!

KateTheHuman · 16/07/2014 10:23

Oh i forgot the 15+6!

blizy · 16/07/2014 10:42

Dh and I spoke about dtd yesterday. We are both going to give it a try at the weekend (how romantic). In my last pregnancy we only dtd once, that's was at 40 weeks in an attempt to bring on labour, it was not an enjoyable experience!
