OMG Baby Mine?! Cheshire I'm welling up just thinking of that song....

Beths & Mighty What awful timing for both of you. Things that would be difficult to cope with at the best of times must feel completely overwhelming when you're pregnant. I really hope things work out you without too much worry or drama Sad

Minibagel · 15/07/2014 09:05

vivi that nightmare sounds horrid. I have such vivid dreams at the best of times, pg makes it all much scarier. I was driving ds1 through town swerving all over the place and going on the wrong side of the road in my dream last night. Woke up in a cold sweat!

Oh no Mini - it really shakes you up doesn't it. Sad

I've been pretty chilled throughout the pregnancy and barely worried or fretted. Seeing my pregnant SIL at the weekend who is MUCH more cautious and careful and highly strung about preganacy dos and don'ts than me has perhaps subconsciously made me feel I ought to be taking more care; I absolutely cained it at step last night, as usual, but afterwards I suddenly felt really panicky that I might have overdone it and have vowed to take it easier next week, so maybe the dream is working!

Prulet's been getting 90's speed garage basslines via the retrofit subwoofer in the Prumobile lately. And my singing along. Poor sod.

Saraswati · 15/07/2014 10:33

Appointment was great, Jesus is doing fine! She found the heartbeat straight away, sounds amazing, and she let me record it for DH as he couldn't come today. Bloods and everything all fine, and they didn't weigh me hoorah! Told her about sickness and she just said it's normal, just to try and eat what I can and she bets I'll be glowing by my next appointment (I bloody hope so!).

Off to go squeeze my friends baby and get excited! :D

Minibagel · 15/07/2014 10:38

Lovely news saras :)

ViviPru · 15/07/2014 10:40

Hooray for JESUS! Great news Sara Grin. What a good idea about recording heartbeat for DH. I'd never have thought to do that but I will do now.

LulusMiniEgg · 15/07/2014 10:49

pru I'm sure the baby loves garage! Well it will do now. You'll be kicking yourself in 15 years time when they are up all night mixing!
sara! Hurrah! How lovely that you recorded the heartbeat, I will try to remember to do the same. What do they actually do at 16 week app? I have mine next week when I will be exactly 17 weeks xxx

Loobyloo893 · 15/07/2014 11:10

Aw that's lovely saras. Smile
I had consultant appointment today due to high blood pressure. I have to have it checked every two weeks and then every week later on. And I have 4 extra scans booked in after 20 week one, every 4 weeks. This baby is going to be well photographed by the end Grin

MightyQuin1201 · 15/07/2014 11:14

Thanks everyone for your kind words. My mother's alcoholism now just feels so shit. I've basically never had a mother and I need one more than ever now I was in floods of tears last night.

The scan this morning went very well and baby looked good with an NT measurement of 1.4, which obviously doesn't mean an awful lot without all the other tests. She was very mobile towards the end! I wasn't in the best state of mind though and I could tell that DH was really frustrated at how sad I've been feeling, so my mother ruined things slightly- as usual.

Beths I'm so sorry to hear about what you're going through. My sister kicked her partner out when she was pg & lost her job and we just celebrated my niece's 18th Birthday last week- despite everything, she managed to raise a wonderful, intelligent & secure young woman because the most important thing to give your child is love. My niece didn't care that they had financial difficulties and had to go without because she had buckets of love. Have faith in yourself- you sound strong.

rumisyum · 15/07/2014 13:44

Hurrah, saras! And recording the heartbeat is a lovely idea.

So pleased you had a good scan, mighty. I'm sorry you feel like your mum still managed to spoil it. Thanks What will you be doing about the trip to France?

viv I've been quite anxious & cautious about this pregnancy because of all our difficulties getting here. But your post made me think I should chill a bit more! So I pushed myself a little harder in my workout this morning and now my bum's sore. Thanks for that. Wink

Ugh, feeling fat as today. The bloating! I wake up feeling fine, but by this time of day my arms and thighs are just massive sausages & I just feel so bleh. Maybe I need to drink more water. Hmm And eat less clafoutis. Blush

Saraswati · 15/07/2014 13:55

lulu I was only there about 15 mins, just a bp check, talked through booking in bloods, they listen to the heartbeat, talked about antenatal classes and booked 28 week appointment. I have to go see my gp at 25 weeks but need to book that myself. It was the same midwife I saw at booking in which was nice. It was in the local children's centre rather than the surgery so was nice to see all the baby groups etc there, I got all excited thinking about taking Jesus to messy play!!

Glad you had a good scan mighty but sorry your happiness has been marred by your mum. It's sad she can't be the mother you need, DH would love to have his mum in his life and share in her first grandchild, but it's just not possible. He couldn't trust her to have a relationship with his child and he never wants to expose our baby to what he's been through. It's such a shit situation, I really feel for you Thanks

cheshirem2b · 15/07/2014 14:53

Just wondering... I had my bloods for downs testing last Monday and still not had the results through. How long did everyone's take? They couldn't do NT measurement so just bloods for me. I'm going with no news is good news!

CallingAllEngels · 15/07/2014 15:06

mighty and beth lots of great advice already from others. Take care of yourselves.

cheshire I cry at the radio every single day!

CallingAllEngels · 15/07/2014 15:09

And great news saras !

Off on holiday tomorrow so see you all when I get back in 2 weeks!

missdonsol · 15/07/2014 15:10

Cheshire - I had my blood taken for the downs screening 2 weeks ago this Thursday and still haven't heard back. I'm also thinking no news is good news, but I hate waiting.

Camsie - love Mr Blue Sky too :)

phoebs88 · 15/07/2014 15:30

Cheshire & miss - I was told yesterday when they were taking my bloods that I'd hear back in about 2 weeks, unless there was a problem and I'd hear back in a couple of days.

So no news is good news but the waiting must be tough!

ViviPru · 15/07/2014 15:53

Haha Rum sorry about that!! Grin

I'm glad you posted about the MW appt, Sara, my Mum asked me yesterday what's happening at mine and I really had no idea.

ViviPru · 15/07/2014 16:02

blizy · 15/07/2014 16:15

Keepontrudging · 15/07/2014 17:44

Mighty- may I ask have you tried al - anon? I attended as my family has 'ishooos'. I found it really helpful. Hope you ok now.

Sara- glad wee Jesus is fine and dandy :)

Well it's a week until we find out the sex! Hurrah :)

Keepontrudging · 15/07/2014 17:44

Bye calling! Have fun!

ViviPru · 15/07/2014 20:14

I'm watching the most recent OBEM on series link. The Christan couple are getting right on my wick. Completely irrational of me but there you go.
