Lovely news looby and phoebs!

blizy · 14/07/2014 12:39

My little button is happy and healthy,my NT measurement was 1.5 mm, just have to wait on the blood results now. So relieved that all is good so far. I'm off to have 40 winks before my 3pm appointment.

Loobyloo893 · 14/07/2014 12:43

Great news phoebs and blizy. What a great day for scans Grin

rumisyum · 14/07/2014 12:48

Aww, yay for all the wonderful scan news! Smile So happy for all of you.

Hello, nyancat! How unhelpful that 2nd doctor sounded! No one should have to suffer, I'd go back and see someone else and try to get some relief - sounds like you're having a dreadful time of things.

Keepontrudging · 14/07/2014 13:14

Ladies it's me! I managed to get back on :)

Keepontrudging · 14/07/2014 13:15

Blizy and phoebs congrats :) yay for good scan day!

ViviPru · 14/07/2014 13:25

Excellent scans news phoebs blitzy and Looby! Hooray for so many positives.

Phew Keep - thought you were a gonner then!

Had a rotten dream last night that I had another scan that showed an empty sac then I had to poo it out Confused. The upside though was that waking up and realising it had just been a dream was a very nice feeling.

blizy · 14/07/2014 13:39

What a horrid dream vivi.

Loony. Yay for happy scan for you!
I'll post a pic later of my wee button, who looks rather like a duck (big trout pout) in he picss! My dates have been put back, DD is 29th jan which makes me 11+4.

sleepisforthetired · 14/07/2014 13:39

Hi all,

Made, not sure if you are still reading - my thoughts are with you at this difficult time. I would certainly taken the same difficult decision having first hand experience looking after someone with SB. Not sure if this makes things any easier for you knowing others would do the same. Its a horrible situation, and I hope you have love and support in rl xx

Swifey sorry to see your news also

Congrats to the ladies who had scans today - lovely to see some positive, happy news.

I have my 16 week this week (bit early) die to MW only being available bi-weekly.

DS "powerbombed" me about a week ago doing a seat drop right onto my stomach and I have not felt as much movement since. Still getting some uterus growth (suspected) like feeling but nothing more and nowhere near as regular. I was getting what I believe were flutters prior to this.

Anyone who had a 16 week appointment (this or previous pregnancies) did they listen for heartbeat?

I am certain they did at 16 week with DS, but this was a different practise - so not sure if it changes depending on area.

Someone mentioned the motion sensor mat - I had "Angel-care" one with DS, purchased after a stint in hospital as I refused to leave unless they could loan me a monitor for a bit... thank you DFIL and MIL... Still going strong after 3.5 years of use.

DS can even turn it off himself when he comes into our room at night now he is older. Yes, 3yr old DS turns off the motion sensor as I am paranoid not to switch it on at night, to come into our bed to co-sleep Hmm don't judge me Grin

For anyone who needs the reassurance, they are a godsend. Admittedly, we had a hellish time for no good reason when DS was 4 days old, resulting in his return to hospital via A&E - but I would have ended up being sectioned had it not been for this mat.

I admit I need to stop using on a three year old - but some things you are allowed to be paranoid about for as long as it takes!

Sorry to hear your news, Swifey.

Happy to hear all the good scan news today.

I usually have to do quite a bit of lifting and carrying at work, it's so weird not being allowed to do anything. Today I'm sitting in a nice quiet warm room with my laptop instead of running around with heavy boxes, being pregnant has some perks!

Glad to see you back Keep!!

Congrats on the scan news Smile. I had a sneaky peek at minipopz this morning before I had my cervix measured. He's all well and good and my cervix is massive apparently haha! Grin

Nice to play catch up to nice scan news today! Smile

My new maternity swimming costume turned up today, could hardly get it on. Have convinced myself just about that they have sent me the non-maternity version, but it weirdly doesn't exist on the website Hmm

Keepontrudging · 14/07/2014 15:00

Lol oh dear scoobs!

Sleep- I have heard of those mats, a few friends have them. I can totally understand why you would want one if you had a hospital stint with your ds at such a tender age. I was totally neurotic with my dd- but didn't get the mat as I was terrified it would go off on its own accord and scare the living bejesus out of me (I was on massive tenter hooks as it was!) I just checked her a lot. I think they are good though.

I'm off to the docs with some wee in a washed out lucozade bottle as I think I have a water infection. The joys!

Camsie30 · 14/07/2014 16:20

Looby I'm 14th Jan too!! My auntie
is very excited as it will be her 60th that day, she's already hoping for a double celebration!

Lovely scan news everyone xx

sleepisforthetired · 14/07/2014 17:35

The Angelcare is sensitive, and can sometimes go off of its own accord, mine did a couple of times. Normally if he had moved off the mat when still quite small.

It can do more to make a parent nervous when it does that - so I would read up on reviews before making a final decision as can be pricey compared to a normal sound monitor

ilovelamp78 · 14/07/2014 18:02

Yay for the scans!

Nice sneaky skills getting back in keepon ;)

katniss I have to do quite a bit of standing, lifting and carrying at work ( the wonderful world of retail) and I'm being risk assessed this week. All the risk assessments ban me from pretty much everything but I'm fully planning on carrying on carrying whatever I can safely manage as i have a friend with a six month old and he's 10 kilos so I figure I need to prepare myself for lugging a child around !!

KatnissEvermean · 14/07/2014 18:34

Glad to see you back on here Keepon.

ilovelamp the company I work for is really small (there are only five of us) and I'm the first employee to ever be pregnant so I think they just want to be very cautious. Not that I'm complaining! I am trying to carry on doing what I can but everyone is looking after me. I have noticed my arms have become pathetically weak but I don't know if it's just tiredness or my muscles have already disintegrated!

blizy · 14/07/2014 19:41

I'm not long home from the consultant appointment, I was in for 3 hours! I will be scanned every 4 weeks from 20 weeks and deliver at 38 weeks. My 20 week scan is booked for 17th sept and will be done my the consultant, man it's ages away!

KateTheHuman · 14/07/2014 20:03

That seems a lot way away blizy. How many weeks will you be then?
