KateTheHuman · 10/07/2014 09:55

Thanks linda :-)

KateTheHuman · 10/07/2014 10:17

All done. Apparently I have small veins. She had to use the baby needle haha.:-)

ilovelamp78 · 10/07/2014 11:14

Morning ladies! Can any

ilovelamp78 · 10/07/2014 11:21

Grrr phone!
Can anyone recommend a good preggo workout DVD that isn't yoga based? I subscribe to an internet workout streaming thing which includes prenatal yoga but the workouts I used to do are probably not suitable now and I would really like something to do alongside the yoga that has a little bit of strength and cardio. I'm not averse to weights but would like to know what I can do safely. Oh and I'm really not very good at the yoga it's shameful!

Saraswati · 10/07/2014 11:41

ilovelamp have you tried pilates? its just like strength training really and uses dumbells. I've got the 10 minute solutions prenatal pilates dvd, I think there are clips on youtube so you could check it out and see if its your thing. Its not cardio though, there must be a pregnancy cardio dvd somewhere? I'd quite like to mix it up with some cardio for flab prevention :) Jesus liked the pilates last night, she was squirming away.

DH took my cinemama picture for this week the other day and oh my I look so bloody pregnant! Luckily my boss is on holiday for 2 weeks from next week, I'll be the size of a house when she gets back (and 18 weeks!) so I better tell then!

Garfieldloveslasagna · 10/07/2014 13:01

Hi,
Can I join? Due the 6th of Jan with my second. Had my 12 week scan but still not sunk in that I'm pregnant, hoping it will hit me soon!

ViviPru · 10/07/2014 13:08

Hi Garfield and welcome! (as an aside, I'm a lifelong Garfield fan, it would be my Mastermind specialist topic Grin )

I'm 15 weeks today and it's still not sink in here either - not sure it ever will!

KateTheHuman · 10/07/2014 13:14

Welcome Garfield!

missdonsol · 10/07/2014 13:17

Just spat my sandwich out reading about your dreams!! Hilarious! :)

I dreamt someone said to me very earnestly 'you really have to work out whether you need to listen to your heart or your elbow'.

Still trying desperately to think about what my elbow could possibly be trying to tell me!

I also plan to start exercising soon, but had to stop the pole dancing unfortunately. Was so much fun but too difficult for me at the moment.

13+2

cheshirem2b · 10/07/2014 13:33

Welcome to the newbies!

Sorry to those with worrying news etc.. hope you get the help and support you need.

I'm shattered again this week! Have pulled two late nights with work due to extra clients in police station (not glamorous at all!) plus full time every day so I will be ready for a relaxing weekend.
Definite bump here by the evenings... smudge is growing!

Had my DS bloods done on Monday (because couldn't do NT measurement 3 weeks ago) and nurse said if there is concern I will have results in 3 days... still no post has arrived so fingers crossed for positive news!

15+0 today! Grin

KateTheHuman · 10/07/2014 13:33

Haha miss maybe you have a very wise elbow and should listen to it! :)

Garfieldloveslasagna · 10/07/2014 13:34

I'm more a lifelong fan of lasagna but Garfield holds a special place for being so lazy and so non apologetic Grin

KateTheHuman · 10/07/2014 13:34

Yay cheshire no news is good news! I had that test done today so started the crossing of everything!! And I'm 15+0 too! :)

Minibagel · 10/07/2014 13:54

sara just fyi, we have a set of 20 bamboo close parent nappies which we used for 4.5months if you fancy buying them? They were great but we moved into rented with no garden or tumble drier so haven't used them since. They are in good condition, and extra absorbent as they have been washed. New ones take a few weeks to become really good. I can't imagine using them on 2 babies, so we are going to have to sell them.

BethsBaba · 10/07/2014 14:12

Hey all, been crazy busy here so just playing catch up.

Hi to all the new mum's to be on the bus. So pleased to hear everyone with good news and good scans :)

So sorry to hear those not having such a good time. Mummyk8 You are very brave to make a choice that scares you so much. I hope it all goes well for you. Maybe it will come with some positives like extra chances to see the baby on scans. Do you have people around to help out after the Op?

Scoobsmam13 · 10/07/2014 14:22

Garfield hello!! Still not sunk in here either, will it ever?

Just ordered me a pregnancy pilates DVD, see you've all inspired me already. My bump is going to be massive, don't want my bum to follow suit!

Garfieldloveslasagna · 10/07/2014 14:28

What Pilates dvd do you guys use, really want to start some gentle exercising so I'm not the size of a house in a few months time?

Scoobsmam13 · 10/07/2014 14:42

As per Sara I have gone for the 10 minutes solutions DVD. Good reviews on amazon Smile

KeepOnPloddingOn · 10/07/2014 14:54

How you today Linda?

Sounds good to me Cheshire!

Aww Kate how cute! Baby veined - hehe :)

Well there was an amazing sake at river island so got a nice maxi dress - black/ sleeved (basically v flattering!) and lots of jewellery to match.

Results tomorrow. Gulp.

KateTheHuman · 10/07/2014 14:54

I'll save that on my amazon wishlist in case I suck at yoga haha

KateTheHuman · 10/07/2014 14:57

I love maxi dresses!! I only have two though. My favourite thing I need to buy at the moment are empire line tunics. I got some leggings recently and fallen in love with the comfort! So i need to find lots of thigh long tops to wear over them. :)

blizy · 10/07/2014 15:07

Welcome to all of the newbies.

lindamagoo, sorry to hear about your NT results, I really hope you get some good news.

Madameg, if you are reading I want you to know I am thinking about you.

KateTheHuman · 10/07/2014 15:14

Howdy blizy :)

mummyk8 · 10/07/2014 15:16

BethsBaba Thank you.

My family are close by and DS is 11 so walks himself to and from school. I'm not really sure I'm brave I'm just doing what I have to for the baby. In truth I not coping well at all. I'm crying all the time and I can't sleep. I'm trying to keep a brave face around DS and failing dismally and feeling like the worst mother in the world for it.
