Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Minibagel · 09/07/2014 22:48

I cried over the woman who was on her 4th in obem, anyone else? I just saw that lovely photo of her twins with cerebal palsy smiling and thought 'ds1 smiles like that'. Silly hormones, I know that's a stupid thing to think, of course all children smile like that. But it made me realise just how much a disability wouldnt change my love for ds1 or this baby. Dh agreed, he had tears in his eyes. Awww

ViviPru · 09/07/2014 23:13

Sara that sounds good. I do a dynamic Vinyasa Flow class at the moment but it's not a pregnancy-specific one so not sure how long I'll be able to keep it up, so Shiva Rea sounds ideal. I'll check it out.

Phoebs we need to hear more about this push chair!!!

Dec2013mummy · 10/07/2014 03:55

Morning all, haven't posted for a bit, but have been keeping an eye! It's been a busy few weeks!
I literally cannot wait for the summer hols... Normally because I'm not at work anymore. This time because it means I get Dh home for a few weeks :)
Ds has had a nasty cough for 5 weeks now. After many trips to the gp he is now on meds and I have got more than 3 hours sleep tonight :) poor little thing, have felt so sorry for him.
I have definitely felt little pebble move! Only a couple of times but it has been pretty amazing! Think I have another wriggler (Ds didn't stop and I had horribly bruised ribs)!
Hope everyone is well today.

KateTheHuman · 10/07/2014 06:26

haha scoobs you're on!! Although I would love bub to arrive on due date _

I had a dream last night baby didn't have a heartbeat. then again I also dreamed I was forced to paint someone's penis with a green highlighter pen so dreams are silly ;)

Good morning all!! :)

KeepOnPloddingOn · 10/07/2014 06:48

Scoobs- another lazy toad here! And another who gained five stone with dd1! Lost most of it fairly easily like you too though. Doubt I would be so lucky this time. I have actually lost a few pounds despite comfort eating, so I am sure this pregnancy won't be heading the same way... I am not into formal exercise. I just walk everywhere pushing my big toddler in her big pram. We live on a very hilly area which I am thankful for- keeps me fit (ish)

I'm 14 weeks today! Officially in second trimester yay! Does this mean my nausea/ heartburn and hormones will miraculously subside ? Hope so! I remember with dd I was extremely tired at this stage, but not much else.

Off to go dress shopping today with my mate and her newborn. Newborn snuggles , yaas! I think I am going to get yet another maxi dress - fancy one though- for my friends wedding reception this weekend. I am loving maxi dresses since getting pregnant. Soooo comfy and flattering :) anyone else?

phoebs88 · 10/07/2014 06:58

Haha Kate I had a little chuckle about your dream...the highlighter one Wink

Vivi - we got a second hand Uppababy Vista for just £100! Carrycot is as new, the toddler seat we've just put the fabric part through the wash and it looks amazing! My job over the weekend is to clean the frame etc. I only happened to be researching how much it would be second hand when this amazing deal came up, so I sent DP off to take a look and he came home with it!! Now just to resist buying everything else 6 months early!!

Scoobsmam13 · 10/07/2014 06:59

Good Morning Smile

I had a dream the other night that Davina McCall was my midwife Shock!!

3 hours Dec? Hope you can get a bit of rest in the day, thats not much to function on. Its heartbreaking when they are ill.

Starbright24 · 10/07/2014 07:08

Morning all. Extra day off work today so of course I wake up at half 5. Yippee!! Still - the sun is shining and it looks like it'll be a good day to spend in the garden after a tesco shop.
Like the weird dream stories. Haha! Grin
I've not even started thinking about what we'll need for the little baby when it geta here. Some of you seem super organised. I guess I'd better start making a list. Think it's going to be ebay or gum tree shopping for me though.

KateTheHuman · 10/07/2014 07:25

Aww Davina would make an awesome midwife!!

KateTheHuman · 10/07/2014 07:30

I haven't bought anything yet. Been looking though and it seems I have expensive taste. Figures!

Yay for days off work! I'm just happy it's Friday tomorrow! Going to see Wicked this weekend and it's been booked for about a year! :)

First though, gotta get this quad blood test out the way today. Has anyone had one?

Saraswati · 10/07/2014 07:36

I did a list the other day and all the basics minus clothes, nappies and toiletries came to 2 grand! I want to do cloth nappies so that'll be another couple of hundred initial outlay but should save money in the long run, better get saving though :s we also need to buy a car! DH didn't seem phased so I think we'll be ok.

I had a dream the other night one of my toes was a strawberry! I think pregnancy messes with your brains.

keep with you on the maxi dresses, they are so comfy. I've got one for a wedding I'm going to at the end of the month. If you find that second tri glow send some my way please!

15+6 come on glow where are you?!

RPopz · 10/07/2014 08:02

Phoebs I have a boob stomping cat also... Hmm

Erk Saras I'm too scared to think about money right now!! We're trying to get the house finished first... before I get humongous....

Look at you lot with all your lovely dreams... the other night I had a dream about having a massive poo... Hmm Seriously that is all that happened. I was pooing. And then discovered I had piles! Had to check I hadn't shat myself when I woke up!!! The joys of preg.

Yes Saras I am awaiting that mythical 2nd trimester glow too!! Angry

14+5 x

Camsie30 · 10/07/2014 08:07

Wow phoebs that's amazing! The uppababy is top of my list and I've started scouring eBay....

ViviPru · 10/07/2014 08:14

That's so weird you're all taking about dreams as I had my first pregnancy dream last night! I went I to hospital in early labour and suddenly I was in a different room waking up and being handed a this baby girl. I had to work out for myself I'd had EMCS under general. All very odd.

Phoebs what a steal! That's a no brainer, you must be well chuffed. There are a few big ticket things I've firmly decided on getting, but not just yet:

  1. Snüzpod
  2. Cocoonababy
  3. Tula carrier
  4. All terrain 3-wheeler (probs Mountain buggy but considering the Phil & Teds)

We're gear geeks. DH is a product designer and we love technical high performance kit for mountain biking, camping and pretty much everything so taking that approach with baby stuff. Nothing frilly or fancy here!

ViviPru · 10/07/2014 08:14

Oh and 15w today yay!

KateTheHuman · 10/07/2014 08:20

Haha strawberry toe! I love it!! Pregnancy dreams are so weird!

I'm 15 weeks today too Vivi! high fives

I'm too scared to add it up Sara. I'm planning to take the whole year off so don't know how we're gonna cope when maternity pay stops. Gonna have to try and save for the rest of the year methinks!

Cakebaker35 · 10/07/2014 08:21

My top tip for lists of things you'll need for baby - write one then half it Smile actually you'll be given so much stuff so it's a good idea to have a list of things so that when people ask what they can get you then you can mention a couple of things you'd like (some will ask/some will just give you what they want you to have!) It isn't grabby or anything it just means you don't end up with lots of duplicates.
Here's a list for newborns - muslins, nappies, babygrows, something to sleep in, a car seat, buggy! Smile there is plenty of time to buy things later x

Scoobsmam13 · 10/07/2014 08:21

Glad Im not the only one who gained that much Keep. Five chocolate milkshakes in one sitting wasn't a proud moment Blush. This time I will be better!
Rpopz your dream made me chuckle!

I'm glad I joined this thread, everyone is so much more organised than me looking at baby stuff, I'm far too last minute for my own good. Starting yoga is first on my to do list though!

All the best for todays test Kate

KateTheHuman · 10/07/2014 08:29

Thanks scoobs! I'm hoping it's over very quickly! Needles yuck!

My pregnancy yoga dvd arrived yesterday! And I'm sure very soon I'll have a go.....yup.....soon... I'm sure!!

ViviPru · 10/07/2014 08:35

Kate !!

lindamagoo · 10/07/2014 08:36

Kate what's the quad blood test?

KateTheHuman · 10/07/2014 09:25

Because my baby was being naughty they couldn't meaure the nuchal fold at the last scan so I've gotta have the quad blood test instead which tests for downs and other things but I can't remember their names. And I've just found out my hospital do yummy breafasts so not all bad! Haha.

KateTheHuman · 10/07/2014 09:26

Breakfasts even!

KateTheHuman · 10/07/2014 09:36

It's so good to not have a full bladder! Haha!

Starbright24 · 10/07/2014 09:40

Buddha bellies is my yoga dvd. Its split into 3 parts for early middle and late or easy intermediate and advanced depending on how much you have done before. I've had a go once and hope to later on today if I stop feeling yucky.
5 milkshakes scoobs haha. I'd love one. All I've had to drink for months is water. Can't stand anything else. Roll on glowing time :):
