Just had a bit of a freak out. Just before I left work I went to the loo and had a bit of clear discharge with a streak of blood in it. Cue panic mode on the drive home. Totally thinking the worst. So get home and first thing I do is get the doppler out. After 15 minutes of not even hearing the placenta whooshing I dumped loads of oil on my belly in desperation and found the heartbeat! Roughly 150bpm. That's gotta be a good sign right? If I was miscarrying there wouldn't be a heartbeat right? Never been this scared.

CallingAllEngels · 09/07/2014 17:33

Sounds like a tough day on the thread. Sending Flowers and hugs to anyone who's in limbo or with bad news.

mummyk8 sounds like a horrific experience first time round. No wonder you're upset and anxious about it.

Booked my 20w scan today. Will actually be 21w as we're on holiday the week before. Now have to wait almost the whole summer holidays for it and feeling impatient.

Have spent today installed on the sofa working fro home though ventured into town to look at maternity clothes. All bleurgh. Stupid patterns or pictures with unflattering cuts. Any top with a round next and no gathering round the bus just makes me look like a blob or beached whale. Where are all the cross over bust/wrap tops? Waiting for my jojo maman bebe top from zalando to see what the sizing is like.

KateTheHuman · 09/07/2014 17:36

It was only the tiniest bit of discharge.

lindamagoo · 09/07/2014 17:39

Kate you should be fine if you picked baby up on the Doppler, spotting is really quite common so try not to worry Smile

KateTheHuman · 09/07/2014 17:41

Really? Is that classed as spotting?

CallingAllEngels · 09/07/2014 17:45

x-post Kate and linda

Try not to worry. (I know, impossible)

KeepOnPloddingOn · 09/07/2014 17:48

Kate -I have had spotting too. All is fine though. If you are concerned phone midwives and they will reassure you :)

Linda- I have results frid yep. The procedure isn't painful at all. They give you a local anaesthetic too. It is obviously uncomfortable though- but only like a period pain. I had barely any discomfort after - and it is over minutes. Today I am fine. Area slightly tender, but fine :) you will be ok. You sound like a tough cookie to me :) it's the Scottish in you ;) (all my family are Glaswegian)

Cakebaker35 · 09/07/2014 17:49

Hello everyone, please can I join you? I've been too scared to before but I'm now 12+2 and had my scan today which was really positive.

Bit of background - I had a missed miscarriage of twins in March at 10 wks and this pregnancy has been crazy with bleeding all the way from 6 weeks to last week, so I've had multiple scans and amazingly all is well. I am officially 'Queen of Bleeds' having had every colour, amount and texture you can imagine - right up to passing clots the size of my hand (sorry tmi!) so that's why I've been too scared to join you here. Blush But it's time to try and be a bit more positive after the latest scan and no bleeding for a week.

Not sure how to add my stats to your lovely spreadsheet, but here they are:

cakebaker35, age 38, 1 DD who will be 3yrs 2 months when #2 arrives, EDD 19th January, location Oxon.

KateTheHuman · 09/07/2014 17:50

I think finding heartbeat reassured me. I'm at the hospital for my quad blood test tomorrow so might mention it then.

MelMc73 · 09/07/2014 17:53

Hi folks. First post for ages (thread 4 I think! ). First scan on Monday....nervous! And excited! Dh says I have a bump already...I think it's just fat! Had a tough few weeks with work and was so tired up until about 10 weeks then started feeling better. 12+4 now and lots more energy. On holiday in South Devon at the moment but can't wait to get home to my own bed and get back to the gym! linda sorry to hear of your results. It would be my worst nightmare to have a child with downs syndrome so I'd be having all the tests going to get a result. Good luck on Friday xx

KeepOnPloddingOn · 09/07/2014 17:56

That's great idea Kate :)

KateTheHuman · 09/07/2014 18:01

Welcome cake !!!! :-)

Scoobsmam13 · 09/07/2014 18:09

Hello all, hope you don't mind me joining in?? I think I have added my stats to the list correctly. I didn't join before as until my scan last week I think I may have been suffering from a bit of denial/disbelief Blush

KateTheHuman · 09/07/2014 18:14

Welcome scoobs!!! :) when are you due?

sunshineandbiscuits · 09/07/2014 18:14

How lovely to see the new ladiew on here. Hello everyone! Smile

Linda sorry to hear about your high risk result. Fx all round for Friday.

I am 14 weeks today so officially 2nd trimester!! Very pleased about it, not least as I am actually enjoying food again and have energy. Not a moment too soon as we have a week of camping and hiking planned next week Grin DW just bought a ton of baby knitting wool so we even have something fun to do if it rainsSmile

Minibagel · 09/07/2014 18:21

linda sorry that you have had scary news, I hope you'll get a cvs and results soon so that you can plan properly. If I was a betting woman, I'd go with a horse with a 90% chance of winning so I'm definitely backing you!

keep thinking of you and your dad, what a rollercoaster

Welcome cake Queen of Bleeds! I too had a mc in march/ april this year and it was so hard to fully enjoy the early weeks of being pg this time. I've had no bleeding and 2 succesful scans so starting to relax a weee bit apart from checking when I wipe every time I go to the loo

mel there's nothing like your own bed! I am finding restfull sleep is a thing of the past...

All is well here. Slightly grossed out that my bump which is bigger than my boobs is mostly bowels, as I know where my uterus is up to (just under belly button) but the bump starts just a few inches under my rib cage. Gross. Poo factory. Anyone else thought about this?!

13+3 weeee!

RPopz · 09/07/2014 18:24

Haha... no Mini... until now... Hmm Confused

RPopz · 09/07/2014 18:24

Though to be fair, I've no bloody idea where my uterus is haha! Grin

Scoobsmam13 · 09/07/2014 18:25

Due date 02.01.2015 - whoops, I forgot to say!! My main aim is to avoid giving birth on any of the major holidays, the work xmas party Shock, or DPs birthday!
sunshine camping and hiking? WOW! I get soooooo breathless this time round, I am in awe!
Kate I had something very similar to what you describe with DD1 at 17 weeks and all was fine.

Starbright24 · 09/07/2014 18:34

linda Thanks Thanks glad you could get an appointment so soon and fx for it. 90 % is high odds.

Welcome lovely new ladies. :) glad you've decided to post here.
minibagel it was not a thought I had had before. Thanks for sharing. Lol. Grin
I feel like I've turned it a waddler over the last few days. What am I going to be like in 6 months if like this now?
Shock

KateTheHuman · 09/07/2014 18:38

That's good to hear scoobs! I'm crossing everything! You're due the day after me!:-)

RPopz · 09/07/2014 18:43

Star - I feel like I started waddling very early on! I guess your centre of gravity changes or something!

lindamagoo · 09/07/2014 18:43

lol keep its the glaswiegen in me as my mum always says Smile

cake you sound as though you have been through a hell of a lot, glad to hear things are getting better this time round Smile

ViviPru · 09/07/2014 18:49

Star & RPopz My pilates instructor commented on my 'early waddle' weeks ago. You're not alone.

Welcome Scoobs & Cake! We're a whopping thread now....

Sunshine glad you hear your energy levels are improving. I've been camping loads (and a few more trips planed up to October) and it's been great other than the need to pee even more than usual which is definitely more noticeable when you're on a campsite!

Saraswati · 09/07/2014 19:13

Haahaahahhahaha poo factory! I don't want to poke around too much then in case I dislodge something ;)

Welcome newbies! Busy day on the thread! Where in Oxonian are you cake I'm near the berks/Oxon border in sunny reading!

Got my prenatal pilates DVD today- might give it a go tonight, will report back!

P.s I'm very Envy of those who are feeling more energetic, 15+5 and still puking like a trooper, argh.
