Keep, sorry to hear about your dad, hope he is fighting fit in no time.

Sara's, Awww little baby kicks. I can't wait to feel my wee button.

Busy day for me, meeting a friend off lunch and another for a coffee this evening. It's roasting hit here and hayfever in full pelt.

Just had the dreaded phone call about my combined downs results! Its came back as high risk of 1|11, shitting myself now Sad

ViviPru · 09/07/2014 12:33

Oh flippin heck Linda you must be beside yourself. Hope you are managing to keep it together and aren't in too much distress over that news. What's next then? CVS? Amino?

Loobyloo893 · 09/07/2014 12:52

Oh no Linda. So sorry to hear that. Do you know next steps yet? I know it's really hard but keep in mind it's not definite. We had 1in5 with DS and he was fine. But I know keeping positive is a lot easier said than done. Thinking of you Thanks

lindamagoo · 09/07/2014 13:01

I've said all along I wouldn't do the tests but now my odds are so high I'm not sure what to do. Going to read up on cvs and talk to oh about it then make a decision

lindamagoo · 09/07/2014 13:02

Looby that gives me a little hope Smile did you have any tests done?

Loobyloo893 · 09/07/2014 13:06

Yes we had cvs. I'm a planner and couldn't face the thought of 6months not knowing.

LulusMiniEgg · 09/07/2014 13:11

Oh linda you poor thing. So sorry to hear you have to go through this too. Have a read up and think about what you want to do. Stay positive xxx

ViviPru · 09/07/2014 13:16

I wonder how MademoiselleG is doing? She is due her rescan sometime around now. If you're quietly still with us then I'm thinking of you and hope you've managed to make it through this last couple of weeks without too much distress. So hope that your rescan brings some positive news. Thanks

lindamagoo · 09/07/2014 13:20

I'm going to go for the CVS of they can fit me in this week, I hope I'm doing the right thing.

Made has her scan today, hoping all goes well for her too

RPopz · 09/07/2014 13:27

Linda Oh my I'm so sorry to hear your news.

Thank you all for your kind comments. I have calmed down a little today. After looking into it and talking to a midwife, my Dr and another Dr at the hospital I am 100% sure that having this operation gives me the best chances of this baby not coming to early. It doesn't change the fact that I'm utterly terrified. After mentioning to a few friends I I many not have anyone to be with me I have had offers to drive me and offers to look after DS and my nephew so my mother can come with me. So I'm sure it will all be ok. RPopz And anyone else who may be facing a cervical suture please don't let what i said worry you. My experience was a terrible one. But that was mainly down to three factors that mostly won't apply to anyone else. I was just very unlucky 1. It was an emergency and i was in shock. I was told I had a 98% chance of miscarrying DS and that the stitch would only cut that down to a 93%. This one is planed so doesn't even come close to holding the same kind of risks. 2. The spinal and stitch were were done at King Collage hospital the spinal was done by someone doing her first ever spinal and it took over 2hrs to get it in. That is so uncommon. 3. I'm terrified of injections and needles and everything related to that so it was really hard for me. I'm sure it won't be like that for anyone else.

ViviPru · 09/07/2014 13:50

mummyk8 glad to hear you have got some support. It sounds like you're really clued up and very brave!

Saraswati · 09/07/2014 13:57

lindamagoo · 09/07/2014 14:31

KateTheHuman · 09/07/2014 14:59

Hi all!! Just wondering how to get to be on the stats page? :)

Name:KateTheHuman
Age: 31
Location: Walsall
EDD: 01/01/15
DC1
First Scan: 01/07/14
Second Scan: 15/08/14
And I'm not planning on finding out gender :)

KateTheHuman · 09/07/2014 15:07

Just read back. Good luck for Friday linda!!

lindamagoo · 09/07/2014 15:24

Thank you Kate Smile
At the very start of the page there's a link to the stats, you just add yourself if I remember right. I'm in awe of you for not finding out the sex, I have no patience and need to know, lol

KateTheHuman · 09/07/2014 15:41

Thank you! I thought of adding myself but couldn't find anywhere to save. Or does it save automatically? I'll have a look!

I always thought I'd find out the gender but now I just want it to be a surprise. So someone can cheesily say "It's a girl!" or "It's a boy!" haha :)

KateTheHuman · 09/07/2014 15:44

Oh it says it automatically saves! D'oh!! Haha! :D

Linda- so sorry you are going through this too and with a higher risk. I know how you must be feeling, but as others have said it is still less than a 10% chance :)
The consultant I saw yesterday also assured me that she rarely worries over anything over a 1:3.

That's good your cvs is so soon. You will have answers fairly quickly - I hope you take it easy. X

KeepOnPloddingOn · 09/07/2014 17:10

I know madem had her scan today. I have messaged her. Hope you ok madem. We thinking of you x

lindamagoo · 09/07/2014 17:26

Keep you get your results back on Friday don't you? Is the cvs painful or just uncomfortable?

Thank you so much everyone for your kind words, what will be will be and I've been through a lot worse in my life so I know I can handle whatever comes my way now Smile
