Frances, I had my booking appointment yesterday and all my details were put on an iPad. MW said they'd be printed and given to me at my scan (3 weeks from now argggggggg!)

How funny would that be if your SIL was on the thread vivi ?! Bet you've had a good comb through the stats Grin

Good luck with scans today.

Hi ladies,

Have been away for a few days so desperately trying to catch up with thread - my, you are a chatty lot.

Loads of helpful info on here for me as I must admit to being rather lax about this whole thing - to some extent because I am very busy with work (SE) and also because I feel quite relaxed which is rather a surprise.

I am finding it extremely difficult to remember what I shouldn't be eating. Stayed at fab hotel over the weekend - I managed to remember not to have soft cheese but, without even thinking about it, had eggs benedict with hollandaise one day, egg sandwich with mayonnaise another and also a prawn cocktail (I am an old fashioned girl). When I couldn't have the cheese I ordered sorbets instead; completely forgetting that they probably had raw egg white in them. I am not too bothered as I have never ever got food poisoning from eating stuff like this but I need to be more careful.

I also had a couple of glasses of wine - shock horror. Not on the same day. It was my birthday though which reminds me to ask are there any ladies on here who are over 40 pg with their first? I am 42.

Finally, Dec, I feel your pain re moving. We decided to move a few months ago when it looked like project baby was not going to happen (I wanted another project to focus on). We have found the perfect house but if it all happens I will not only be having a baby but taking on a massive mortgage at the same time (and I am the main breadwinner). OMFG - forget the background nausea; this is what is keeping me awake at night!

Good luck to all of you who have scans this week - mine is on 14th.

Oops - forgot to ask.
Does anyone know much about scans? I am keen to have everything I can but my midwife had not heard of the Harmony test.
I am booked in for what they are calling a 'combined test screening for DS' which is an ultrasound and blood test.
I assume depending on the results of that I may or may not be recommended for something further?

Minibagel · 24/06/2014 07:09

It's me vivipru!!

Ok it isn't but I want your sis in law to be on this thread :) Great news for the whole family

Swifey · 24/06/2014 07:30

Hello, can I join in please? My due date is 23.01.15! Have been having horrendous nausea, so lots of fun, but all worth it, I had it with ds1 too, so it was to be expected! Do I have to pm my stats to someone or just pop them on here? Good luck everyone! Xx

cheshirem2b · 24/06/2014 07:55

swifey I think you can add your own stats to the sheet.
Congrats btw and welcome to January club!
I worked late last night and have woken up today exhausted! Feel like I could sleep for another 8 hours again! Today's gong to be a long day! Zzzz!

Loobyloo893 · 24/06/2014 08:24

Bohemond, I'm 9+5 too Smile. The combined screening is what most nhs trusts offer. The harmony test is a type of non invasive testing for downs, but is a private test so you have to pay for it in a private clinic. If you get a high risk on the combined test you'll be offered a cvs or amnio depending on how far along you are.

Lovely news keepon !

With DS, we wanted the surprise at birth. I was certain from day one it would be a boy - DP was supposed to tell me after delivery. As DS was poorly, they kind of waved him at me bum first before rushing him to the crib thing (can’t think of its name). DP didn’t need to tell me as first sight of DS was his little bottom and boy parts Grin was a good 10 minutes before I saw his face (possibly longer - that part still isn’t clear!).

I really just want the baby to be healthy. All DS clothes for first month were neutral, and nursery was neutral so we are planning on just using the same things, and moving DS into a “bigger boy” room. There is no “advantage” of knowing but this time I am more on the fence – where as last time I was sure I didn’t want to know. I think its because DP expressed a preference this time round, but deep down I think it’s because I am nosy!> Know DP would like girl (as thinks it could be a daddies girl as DS is such a mini-me!) but is thrilled to be having another as for a long time I didn’t want to extend our family

ViviPru · 24/06/2014 08:55

Well, Engels & Mini I've checked the stats and I'm pretty sure my SIL isn't on here, I'm not sure MN would really be her scene anyway!

I've not heard from DH since the original text and I'm bursting with excitement and frustration at not being able to hypothesise and gossip with him!

I woke up this morning wondering if I'd imagined it, what a blessing to have cousins identical in age. The older sister is going to combust when she finds out her little brother is expecting as well.

Good luck with today's scans.

Was just about to email my midwife to ask when I would get my notes and happened to read the one bit of info in the Bounty pack that wasn't junk and noticed it said I receive my notes at my dating scan, so same as you Phoebs88.

It's going to be a long 11 days until my scan next Friday. On the plus side I have already had an appointment through for a 16 week scan too (have to have extra as I have a heart problem) which means I get to see the baby a few extra times, which will be nice.

11w today

Saraswati · 24/06/2014 09:47

Morning All!

Good luck mad and j200 looking forward to seeing your happy news later on :)

Welcome swifey hope your sickness eases soon! mine has been awful but finally easing at bit now (hopefully!)

So the last few days I've certainly felt more like a human, last night I stayed up until 11pm and I don't feel like I've been hit by a truck, this is progress! I wasn't sick yesterday either and have reduced my anti-sickness meds, so I really hope this continues in the right direction!

I was told last night that mine and DH's best 'couple' friends are seriously considering splitting up, after only 6 months of marriage!! I was very shocked to say the least. I'll be devastated for them (and myself!) if they do split up. Between that and DH's friend with a brain tumour, I feel like everything is suddenly going well in my life whilst my friends are falling apart!!

Good luck Madrigals and J200!

halfdoneharris · 24/06/2014 10:36

Good luck for the scans today. Looking forward to hearing your news and I only have 3 days til mine - yippee!

We won't be finding out the sex - we didn't with dd and I can honestly say that it was one of my favourite lifetime experiences (when I think of that moment I get a tear in my eye and all the emotions rush back) - that moment when I looked between her legs and found out she was a girl and then I told dh. I would have put money on her being a boy but we only bought neutral stuff to start with and then my (slightly over excited) family all rushed out to get girly things that day so she was well equipped. I think this one is a boy, but only because I feel so much less sick and nauseous. I think I will enjoy the guessing game for the next 6 months!
Vivi my sil is expecting about 2 weeks before this one will be born by elcs - so I know how excited you must feel about having such cousins close in age. Amusingly my other sil is also pregnant (with dts) and is due at the end of summer - so there will be loads of cousins!

halfdoneharris · 24/06/2014 10:37

PS - 12+0 today! whoop whoop!
I am craving dairylea triangles - yum, so off to munch on 1 or 5 now...

ViviPru · 24/06/2014 11:01

How lovely HalfDone a cousin-fest for you!

Lol @ "one bit of info in the Bounty pack that wasn't junk" it really is just a big load of marketing BS isn't it?!

Sara Our best 'couple friends' (and first of the group to have DC) marriage broke down the same time we got BFP. It's been such a difficult time, we're all very close and as well as being devastated for them, I've also been selfishly feeling sad for our own loss that things won't quite be the same again. I hope your friends manage to work something out.

Good luck Mad and j200 & eh-up Swifey, welcome!

LulusMiniEgg · 24/06/2014 11:03

We won't be finding out the sex. I've always found it strange when people know and give the baby a name and identity before it's born. I also have this terrible feeling that it's unlucky and tempting fate. I'm not normally superstitious but with babies and pregnancy I really am!

It will be so exciting to find out when it's born. My friend said it helped her with the final pushing as she just wanted to find out!

Oooh it's so exciting!

Woohoo all looks good Smile get combined downs result in post in next few weeks.
