mini I like your stance on the gender front. Makes sense: for me it is always going to be a surprise :) plus I am far too impatient

Oh - and I am eating revels right now after my serious scan workout ;)

Gosh I have a lot to say tonight!!

I am in m+p maternity jersey bottoms today as I'm off work and they are amazing on my swollen tummy. They are not obviously mat wear as they have one of those foldable yoga style waistbands so they are a good option for now and after your baby when nothing else is comfortable. Highly recommend for casual wear.

Madrigals ours tomorrow, can't believe it's finally here at last! Mine's at 10:40, just want it to be over! Have to have all my bloods done too as MW lost all previous blood test results....

Yey keepon that's great news :)

Having a surprise over here too, DH and I have always agreed on this, because we've been set on names for years it'll be nice to have the surprise of the sex at the birth, I want that's 'it's a boy/girl' moment. I won't be buying gendered things even if I knew, just going to buy what I like the look of, and have given my mother a stern talk about frilly dresses if it is a girl! I just want the baby to be comfy and as this is DC1 anything we buy I want to use for the next one regardless of the sex so it makes sense to make it all neutral.

blizy · 23/06/2014 19:57

Keep on, fab news! Enjoy your post workout revels.

We are going to find out the sex, we found out with dd too. We both enjoyed the shopping spree afterwards.
Dinner tonight was cheese toastie, salt and vinegar crisps and an icepole Blush
Dh is away with work this week (he's away most weeks), so I'll be eating stuff I can make quickly.
I felt awful today, was sick 3 times and felt nauseas all day, must be the 9 week hormone surge.
Hope everyone is well.

sunshineandbiscuits · 23/06/2014 20:11

Yay keep we are EDD buddies. I'm due 8 Jan as well Smile

Haven't posted here for a week or so as I have been crazily busy at work, but I've been lurking and keeping up with everyone's news. Really pleased to hear about all the good scans, although very sorry for those who had sad news. Making me nervous for my scan which is a week today. We are definitely counting down the days now!

sunshineandbiscuits · 23/06/2014 20:19

Oops, forgot to say 11+4

We are definitely going to find out the sex as well. Can't exactly put our finger on why, maybe we are just impatient and as mini says, we would spend a lot of time guessing anyway. I also think that we want some time to get used to the idea of having a boy or a girl - we know that we would love either just as much, but all the same they are different. Some good friends were surprised how disappointed they were 20wks when they found out it was a boy because they hadn't realised how much they had both only ever imagined having a daughter. Of course, by the birth they were both very excited to be having a baby boy! I think it's hard to know what you might unconsciously be thinking/hoping/expecting in advance. Having said that, it's clearly a very personal decision (and maybe we are just trying to justify our nosiness and impatience!)

Ha! I knew DS was a girl. Grin Pretty sure dc2 is a boy too...we shall see!

Saraswati · 23/06/2014 20:28

That's interesting mad I've thought girl from just after my bfp! No idea why, just a feeling. I honestly don't mind either way though, just want it to arrive safely and painlessly (yeah right!)

13+3 today forgot to put that earlier :)

sunshineandbiscuits · 23/06/2014 20:32

mad we have both been totally convinced from very early on that we were having a boy, so we can test your theory!

Loobyloo893 · 23/06/2014 20:41

Aw glad scan went well keepon. With DS from the moment we found out I was pg we referred to him as a he and it felt really wrong to say she. This time we keep calling baby a she and saying he feels totally wrong. We'll be finding out after nifty test so we'll see if we're right again Smile

KeepOnPloddingOn · 23/06/2014 20:51

Mad- I totally agree. With dd I knew she was a girl from start.

With this pregnancy I have swayed either way. Defoe thinking boy after my scan though. If I find out i am wrong at 20 weeks I will not be disappointed- I don't mind either way.

With dd I totally envisioned a dark haired girl though as dh is dark, then out popped our lil blonde and blu eyed little lady. It was a bit odd as I had totally expected the opposite, but I loved her more than anything I had ever seen so that dwelling of love over whelms any surprises / unexpected outcomes!

What I am trying to say - is I think in pregnancy we naturally pre- empty the baby to a degree, but I don't think it matters too much once the baby is here anyway. Your too consumed with love!

KeepOnPloddingOn · 23/06/2014 20:53

Gaaaah - so many bloody mistakes in that post :( hope the general idea makes sense!

I hate auto correct and mobile phones ... Deffo is constantly Defoe, so embarrassing (and hilarious)

KeepOnPloddingOn · 23/06/2014 20:55

Thanks for all the congrats too :)

What wonderful news keepon

RPopz · 23/06/2014 21:40

I keep thinking girl but I don't know why!! And I'm sure to begin with I thought boy! Confused

RPopz · 23/06/2014 21:43

I get what you mean about getting used to the idea Sunshine - similar story to yours; one of my friends found out she was having a boy at 20w scan and I think in her heart of hearts she was disappointed as a lot of our friends had recently had girls. She adores him now though obviously!

RPopz · 23/06/2014 21:44

Also Mum said on Sunday she thinks I'm having a girl because I'm "fat and sick" like she was with me!! (Charming, lol)

Sorry for triple post!

rumisyum · 23/06/2014 21:44

Hurrah, keepon! Wonderful news. Smile

I don't mind one way or other when we find out the baby's gender, but I think I'd want to at least try to keep it to ourselves till s/he arrives, to spare us being inundated with pink/blue stuff. I'm not up for that. Hmm

My friend gave birth today, on her due date (!!), everyone thought they were having a boy and out popped a little girl!!

I'm not planning to tell anyone other than my parents who will be sworn to secrecy.

ViviPru · 23/06/2014 22:22

OMG MASSIVE NEWS...

err... ahem.... SIL? Are you on here?

DH is staying away tonight at his sisters, we've agreed he won't her (& her DH and kids) yet until we are both together.

Anyway I just got a text from him, apparently our nephew has let slip that his aunt (DH's other sister, DH has two sisters, neither know our news) is 12 weeks pregnant!!!! OMG I can't believe it, how exciting! She is early 40s (this would be DC1) and to our knowledge has always wanted to have children but her DH has never been keen.

So if that sounds like you, then hi! We're thrilled for you! xxx

ViviPru · 23/06/2014 22:24

oops sorry, I'm really slack at this:
