Hi all,

Haven't been posting for a little while but have been keeping an eye on things Smile. Lovely to hear the good scan news! I have mine on Monday so am feeling a mixture of nerves/ excitement. I know what you all mean about people's reactions. I'll be the 7th pregnant women at work this year (we're 30 in total) so am expecting lots of reactions along the lines of 'not you too!' Hmm

Just got to finish up a 5 day conference I'm organising abroad this week. Not sure I've ever been so tired!

CallingAllEngels · 27/06/2014 14:35

looby I had a sneaky McDonald's today with DS. Twas yummy.

Feeling exhausted here, work is killing me. End of term madness.

13+5 Smile

KeepOnPloddingOn · 27/06/2014 14:44

My previous post should have read - papp-a sometimes leads to a lowISH birth weight. Not lowest, sorry!

lindamagoo · 27/06/2014 14:53

All went well at our scan today. Baby took a while to get in position and seems pretty chilled out in there. Baby Half gave us a wave though and I shed a tear. NT measurement seemed fine, so I think I will announce to the rest of the family that still don't know yet. Such a lovely feeling knowing that you are really pregnant and it is not all in your head. I only did one preg test, and this was the first scan so sigh of relief x
Due date moved forward 1 day so now due 4th Jan - but likely I will have a cs anyway, so baby half is likely to be an end of december baby x

RPopz I will be 14+4 by the time I have the enhanced blood test - the earliest I can go it 4/7/14 and no later than 11/7/14 they said.

Great to see more scan pics! Happy days!

Minibagel · 27/06/2014 16:40

welsh the nt result varies from pregnancy to pregnancy and age is not as much as a factor as the proteins in your blood and the nt measurement, so please be reassured. You could have got pg a month later and had a 1/10,000 result.

Sorry linda another hand up to confess I too had a mcd's today. Breakfast. Double sausage and egg. It was so good. But I feel with my current dairy impulses it would be improved with another 2 slices of their cheese. Who else is with me on that?

Amazing news on the scans half, star and blizy I love these multiple scan results days.

11+4
5 sleeps til my scan

Cherrypi · 27/06/2014 17:13

Congratulations on the scans ladies. Mine is a week on Tuesday. Anyone else started the battle for maternity pay/allowance? I've spent the last three weeks trying to find a name in HR to send my MATB form to. I know I'm early to think about these things but if the last three weeks are anything to go by it's going to be such a pain. I work from home so I'm trying to do it all through email and phonecalls. Argh.

RPopz · 27/06/2014 17:27

Great news on all the lovely scans today ladies!

My Down's risk is 1/ 25000 which I'm pretty chuffed about! For anyone feeling doubtful about theirs I'd say turning it into a percentage figure definitely helps. Even what the NHS classes as "high risk" is not particularly high risk! Easier said than done I know, I was petrified about mine even though I do these calculations every day.

Out for a meal with friends tonight - table is booked for 9pm (my usual bedtime!!) so no bloody idea how I will stay awake!! Confused

Great to see all the positive scan news and pictures!

I rang the Fetal Medicine Unit (FMU- how aptly named!) and they have agreed to scan me again this Monday. Thank heavens for that! The mw was incredibly nice (clearly trained for speaking to parents in difficult situations like us) but she couldn't give us any additional information. We probably won't get all the answers but we will probably know at least whether or not there is any point in having hope...

Just trying to carry on as normal until then. Mainly eating!

lindamagoo · 27/06/2014 18:02

Made that's good news that you will get scanned on Monday, I hope things turn out ok for you huni.

Glad everyone's scans went well today Smile

Just ordered an Indian for dinner, can't wait to wolf it all down Smile

Happyday24 · 27/06/2014 18:14

Had my 12 weeks scan today and saw a happy, healthy baby, who was wriggling around and having a great time inside! So happy. So relieved. Can't wait to share the news with friends and family this weekend.

My mum and dad are over the moon! x

MademoiselleG · 27/06/2014 18:20

Exactly. Phew! And at least if it's bad, we can make a decision before going on holiday. Sounds futile, but right now, this holiday is the ONE really positive thing we are looking forward to!

Minibagel · 27/06/2014 18:38

Congratulations happy what lovely news! It's so weird thinking about them dancing away whilst we are oblivious.

No more movements for me linda so i'm starting to think that was a bit of a lucky fluke the other day. Not feeling too concerned as regular movements shouldnt be felt til 20something weeks, but it's so weird, I was so sure that's what it was. Maybe wind after all?!

Oooooh it's so nice to see al the scan pics, I'm so happy for all of you :)

We told my dad yesterday and he was over the moon. Then we went for diner in a restaurant and I fell asleep on the table between main and desert!

I have been reading Emily Oster (thanks vivi!) and I feel I've found my soulmate. Before I got pg, I was desperate for a book that would explain things in my language that is randomised studies and literature reviews.

So last night, I asked my DP to pour me a glass of wine and the guy next to us at the restaurant said :

"Excuse me, are you pg? do you know it's horribly bad for you to drink?"

Oh boy. I've never been so stone cold angry at someone and he genuinely looked scared after the first minute of me giving him the details of why he was wrong, hurtful and stupid. My DP call it my scary "you're fired" way and yeah, I think this guy is never, ever, saying anything to another pg lady.

katniss We're going to be 20 at the ceremony and debating what to do for lunch. I don't want a party. If I could, I would elope...

happy it's so cool to see the baby jumping around ! I loved it too!

mademoiselle glad you can rescan and the mw was sensitive about it. Training about empathy and that sort of things is very good in the UK!

mummyk8 · 27/06/2014 19:07

MademoiselleG So pleased they could move your scan to Monday.

I'm getting very uncomfortable aches where i was scanned yesterday. I think it's partly to do with how hard she was pressing and poking to get the right angle on the baby and to get him/her to move around, also because I still have a bit of weight to lose so she had to press quite hard to get a good view. On top of that she was pressing on the C-section scar. Not to worried just feels awfully unpleasant.

lindamagoo · 27/06/2014 19:16

Mini hopefully you will start feeling more soon. My little bean is definitely kicking, I was using the doppler yesterday and he didn't like it, started moving like mad Smile

Bugaboom · 27/06/2014 19:17

helloelo Shock at the man in the restaurant! How bloody cheeky!
