mummyk you are always welcome at my house!

cheshirem2b · 26/06/2014 12:19

mummyk8 feel free to pop over and clean my house when you finish if you like? I've done no housework this week due to being so tired but hoping to get some done at the weekend! (oops)

missdonsol · 26/06/2014 13:18

Hi all,

I'm another anxious lurker! Been reading for weeks, what a lovely supportive and chatty bunch you are Smile Been crying and laughing along with all the news the last couple of weeks.

Good luck to everyone with scans today. 7 whole days till mine. Already nervous!

Heading to the doctors in a bit to get echo scan results due to suspected heart murmur. Anyone else had that?

11 weeks today

cheshirem2b · 26/06/2014 13:50

PS: 13 weeks today!

ViviPru · 26/06/2014 13:52

Hi missdon welcome!

My Mum has regular echocardiogram scans due to her heart murmur. It wasn't picked up until later in life but the consultant is pretty sure she has had the condition from birth, and she was fine in all 3 pregnancies so hopefully it's nothing too serious for you either.

missdonsol · 26/06/2014 14:00

Thanks Vivi

Yes I'm hoping it's an innocent heart murmur and nothing to worry about. Good to know it didn't cause any problems in pregnancy for your mum.

Hello all, good news here. Little bubble was kicking around and waving at us! It's finally hit me that it's real! Ds was kicking and squealing in his pushchair bless him :) hope everyone else's scans went well.

Oh and meant to say that they measured it at 12 weeks exactly but said try hadn't got an accurate measurement as baby was in the wrong position and was too curled up so I'm sticking with my dates.

12+4

Hi All,
Self indulgent post as very happy right now -

Had scan at 9 this morning. 1st time seeing baby, and it was lovely :) Very jumpy. When not jumping, arms up and legs crossed relaxing lounging - I didn't even know their legs were long enough to do this! Gave a little wave, although it looked more like it was picking its nose...

Sonographer said its too small to feel anything just yet - but I swear I can feel something but hey ho, in next few weeks should be even more distinct :)

To say I am relieved is a massive understatement. Waiting on results of screening, but knowing baby is in there has made my heart melt (and I am normally quite a grumpy practical person!).

We are not telling DS just yet. Will wait until after the 20 week scan for that.

Due date 4th Jan - which is exactly what I calculated (GP and midwife had moved it) so can now add with confidence 12+4 today

sleepisforthetired · 26/06/2014 15:35

Just had a little look up thread as only came on quickly to post (actually working for a change!) - glad to see your scan also went well Dec2013 - so you are my scan twin and EDD twin Wink

KeepOnPloddingOn · 26/06/2014 15:43

Great news sleep and dec :)

May I ask have any of you had brown dishcharge after intercoursw? I have been a bit crampy and had alight brown dishcharge when I wipe.

sleepisforthetired · 26/06/2014 15:52

I have had the same pains on my left side since last night. Nowhere near where baby was positioned this morning but I think I have injured myself vomiting (nice :( )

I have had an achey sensation, not crampy as such. Just a dull ache. As a "plus size model" she did have to lean on me a fair bit to get a good clear picture.

So far no coloured discharge however the sonographer did say any concerns or if more pain then to contact midwife. It felt like she was saying it to cover if anything did happen (discharge or pain) but if they cover themselves saying stuff like this, it makes me think some women do experience this after and so it must be fairly regular for them to have noticed to feel the need to mention it.

Minibagel · 26/06/2014 15:52

keepon and dec great news for you both!

Inspired by mummyk8 I hoovered the playroom today. Then needed a pack of mini cheddars, a pack of hula hoops and a bagel (!) afterwards. At this rate I can see out house being a total tip by january.

Welcome missdon lovely to have you here. Scans always seem so far away, don't they?

keepon you can ring the mw advice line for this, but they told me its normal. Cramps are womb contracting and massaging your baby (a good thing, or so my dh keeps telling me) and brown is old blood mixing with discharge.

Talking of discharge (tmi ahead) I swear yesterday I thought I'd wet myself. Which in itself didn't shock me after giving birth to a whopper ds1, my pelvic floor is shot to ht. Pregnancy pants contents aren't the best are they?! And it only gets better as the weeks go by. Pass the pantyliners!

sleepisforthetired · 26/06/2014 15:54
  • sorry - point being getting prodded and moved about = some people moving "old" blood (yes, I link intercourse with getting prodded and moved about)
Minibagel · 26/06/2014 16:03

Woops 11+3

Hello all, not long home and all went really well. Baby was in the wrong position to measure anything accurately despite my having to go off and walk around for 20 mins and drink a whole bottle of something fizzy he/she was moving but not in to the right position. All looked healthy and I'm just so so so relieved. They dated me at between 12+ and 13 but I'm sticking with my 12+4 as it fit's 100% with the dates given at my two EPU scans. I have to go back in three weeks to have another scan the downs testing done via only bloods (will need to google that) as they couldn't measure properly today. I'll also need to go back on the 8th to have my cervix scanned as I had incompetent cervix with DS and they may want stitch them again this time round just to be safe. So happy to hear everyones good news. xxx Smile Smile Smile Smile Smile

KeepOnPloddingOn · 26/06/2014 17:23

Fab mummy k8! Seems you had a wee sleeper like mine :)

Thanks sleep I haven't had any more of the stuff so sure it was just old blood. I just panicked after everything else that's been going on I was bit argh! Trying to be positive regardless :) feel so much happier when I do so. I am also takin care to cancel a few thins so I can just rest up. Us ladies seem to be bad at this ;) so lucky dh is here to help me with my dd I've weekend, as he won't be working.

So happy today was a happy scan say for all- all seems to have gone well. :)

Can I just say I get my laptop sorted in 2 weeks and then I will no longer have to type like an idiot from my tiny keyboard from iPhone. Argh! Auto correct is also a right pain the proverbial!

Camsie30 · 26/06/2014 17:34

So happy to hear about lovely scans! I have eaten so much for lunch and feel like I'm having triplets. Can barely walk. Babies like guacamole, right?!??

11 + 1

RPopz · 26/06/2014 17:48

Great news on the scans ladies!

Sleep you described exactly how I felt yesterday!! Wasn't expecting to love it right there and then! Smile

Mummyk8 - I have to have a cervical scan in a few weeks time too. I had a cervical biopsy a couple of years ago and the tissue they took may have shortened my cervix Shock Consultant sounded positive about it but just another thing to worry about eh! x
