Thanks Treacle. How you getting on? You in the TWW yet?

fancyacupoftea · 26/06/2014 21:34

Also in my lurking I saw you did a presentation speech thing today. Hope it went well!

MademoiselleG · 26/06/2014 21:35

What did you get? What did you get?

Treaclepie19 · 26/06/2014 21:36

Not yet! My stupid short luteal phase >. <
Cd 14 today. Month I got my bfp I ovulated on cd19.

Not long to go :) hoping i ovulate a bit earlier but apparently mc can make your luteal phase even shorter :/

Treaclepie19 · 26/06/2014 21:36

Thanks fancy :)
It did go well surprisingly. I'm not as bad a public speaker as I thought!

fancyacupoftea · 26/06/2014 21:47

Well done Treacle! Public speaking star. Hope the dtd goes well and you're back for good very shortly.

Mademoiselle I got some unisex baby clothes basics (no idea why), a tummy time pillow and a dreamgenii sleep pillow. Except I accidentally ordered the pillow twice so desperately trying to cancel one of them!

Treaclepie19 · 26/06/2014 21:51

Thanks fancy, I hope so too.
Currently stressing myself out about my luteal phase. The worrying never stops.

Your order sounds lovely :)

fancyacupoftea · 26/06/2014 21:58

How long is your LP?

Treaclepie19 · 26/06/2014 22:27

9/10 days.

chillychicken · 27/06/2014 09:10

I heard my name being called Grin Sorry for absence. It's been a manic few weeks at work - very stressful and very hard but today is much calmer. I'm having a sort out day today mainly because I am exhausted and cannot bring myself to do more than write lists

Mlle I hope you're ok xxx
Barmy I also love the blue. We're probably going for black because we'll never agree on a colour
Frenetic So glad your Grandad had a lovely send off.
Fancy Congrats on scan! Grin

Have missed you! Will be back properly now, promise!

So. Update! I'm now 16+5 and last week had the first flutterings which was pretty amazing! Didn't notice any more until last night when I went to bed at 9pm and baby obviously had much more energy than me! Lots of little flutterings. Really lovely to feel Smile I'm now unable to fit in pre-pregnancy clothes, despite weighing less than when I fell pregnant! I've fallen in love with maternity bands. Have one on today as I've worn jeans to work so I have pre-pregnancy jeans on, the button and zip completely undone and it's all neatly covered up with a black maternity band. Fab! I'm going on holiday at 19/20 weeks and I'm kidding myself that the shorts I bought will still fit by then. I foresee a rushed online shop happening a few days before we go! I'm still waiting for bump to properly pop out though. I just look fat at the moment. When I lay down I can feel a definite little bump and this morning it was noticeably bigger than yesterday so hoping that I properly pop within the next few weeks Grin

Had my 16 week midwife appointment yesterday. I heard the heartbeat which was lovely. Student midwife found it straight away and it sounded like a train Grin then baby decided to go for a swim so I was treated to some swooshing noises for a bit.

Unfortunately I also found out that I'm now under consultant care which, unless I'm discharged beforehand, throws my birth plan out the window. Midwife has no idea why I'm under consultant care but it is probably because my mum had a stroke aged 45 and has diabetes (type 2). DH reckons I'll be discharged quickly but I'm seeing the birthing pool and private room on a lovely MLU as suddenly out of reach. Whatever the reason, they're obviously not overly worried as my first consultant appointment isn't until I'm 27 weeks.

freneticfox · 27/06/2014 09:40

chilly I'm under consultant care too; but they've said it should affect my desire to have a water birth; it's just a precaution in most cases apparently. I think they review things further down the line, so don't lose hope yet!

Decided to stop worrying over sizes and my early scans, and just date myself by when my LMP was. This means I'm 8w on Sunday. Slowwwwwly but surely dragging my arse to the good bit (I hope).

Anyone else have trouble falling asleep laying flat at the moment? The minute I try laying down at night, I feel really queasy and have to sit up to compose myself. I end up falling asleep sat upright, despite waking up flat out again. Very strange.

Spotti · 27/06/2014 10:27

I'm having the opposite problem frenetic in that I feel fine as long as I remain horizontal...as soon as I sit/stand I feel queasy! Currently suffering with what feels like someone squeezing my lungs. Can't decided if it's pregnancy related or if I'm starting to be ill, suppose I'll see if it goes away and go see the GP if it's still happening in a few days :-S.

Got absolutely loads to do today but so far I've done bugger all! Someone give me a kick (and some energy tablets Wink) and make me do something productive...

freneticfox · 27/06/2014 11:24

waves pom poms for Spotti

That's about the extent of my energy today ;)

fancyacupoftea · 27/06/2014 11:36

Frenetic yeah just go by LMP for now. After being a week out on one scan I am now just 1 day off the LMP date.

Can't stop eating today. If I was doing as much work as I was eating I'd be very productive.

freneticfox · 27/06/2014 11:51

fancy I'm the same. My digestive system appears to want me to eat. Everything. All the things. Last night I got very upset upon learning we didn't have cinnamon bagels in the house. I live just a few mins from a 24-hour Tesco as well.

Just had a chat with my midwife about hospital choices, people keep telling me horror stories about my local hospital and it's starting to make me anxious; even though so far they've been wonderful - especially when I had suspected ectopic last week. Jees, why is it people only want to share negative stories?

sazzlehopes · 27/06/2014 12:14

Fancy I've not stopped eating since this morning! I have eaten all my lunch and what I had planned for an afternoon snack. I'm now sipping on peppermint tea hoping that gets rid of my desire to keep going with more food - I really need to do work!

fox the scary ones make for a better story and i think some people need to share to make themselves feel better. If you had good care there recently i wouldn't be put off too much.

Zermatt · 27/06/2014 12:24

I've got a funny feeling (literally, terrible cramps, bloated like I've been blown up like a beach ball, gas and gurglings) that I might be developing lactose intolerance during this pregnancy. Something I'm eating is triggering these nasty episodes and I reckon it stems from my creamy yogurt at lunch.

Waiting to go for dinner with my hub so hoping it buggers off cos I love this restaurant.

Chilly that's a great update, your bump sounds lovely and so exciting that you have started feeling it moving :)

Spotti · 27/06/2014 14:52

Zermatt - if you need any lactose-free ideas for food, I'm your girl! I make a mean lasagne (mmmm, lasagne) without lactose (yay for lactofree cheese Smile). Also pretty handy on the bun/baking front...

Speaking of buns...(this is related, honest!)...I realised the other day that I'm a numpty who can't count! Turns out that my 12 week scan won't be mid-September like I thought, but actually somewhere near the beginning of August >doh< sooooo my idea for telling my everyone on DF and DFIL's birthdays has kind of gone out the window as I will be around 16 weeks by then and I'm pretty sure I'll be showing by then! (Might have also cracked and told them all by then anyway).
My new idea is to kind of steal poly's tshirt idea and let them figure it out for themselves...so here's the bun link...I've seen a cool top with an oven on it with a bun in it (bun in the oven - lol) and also a dinosaur one that says "preggosaurus". Anyway, I'm asking: would you get it if you saw someone with a 'bun in the oven' tshirt? Don't really want to have to explain it (I want to see their faces as they realise) but also don't want it to be super obvious either. Would the tshirt work or shall I go back to the drawing board?

really fancying lasagne now but we have bugger all in the house to make some Sad

So I've just been back to the M&P outlet looking for a baby shower present but have come home with maternity clothes Blush It's just so damn cheep!

PolytheneGirl · 27/06/2014 15:03

I'd get it Spotti I think it's a nice idea. I loved that you see people figuring it out. I was going to get DS a T-shirt that said "Orwell 84" on it but DH thought no one would get it. I'm going to buy it anyway for when LO arrives, just because I think it's clever!

hanflan · 27/06/2014 15:17

poly I got that... but it did take me a while haha. You want it to be fairly subtle but maybe not that subtle Wink

spotti I love the idea of the bun in the oven tshirt!

hanflan · 27/06/2014 15:23

p.s. I didn't mean that to sound bad poly I love the idea! I am quite slow at getting things like that anyway haha.

freneticfox · 27/06/2014 15:43

We told our Mums over a lunch; my Mum always says 'Cheers family!' and my DH follows it up with 'To the Mums' - this time I added 'All three of us!' after his comment. It took a few moments for them to twig!

hanflan · 27/06/2014 15:57

I told my Mum by saying "What are you doing in February?", she said "erm, nothing, that's ages away! Why?"
So I said "Well you might want to start saving for a flight back to England to meet your first Grandchild" haha. Not subtle at all but she bloody loved it Grin

hanflan · 27/06/2014 15:59

On a sidenote, boobs are agony! They are growing though so don't want to splash out on a new soft bra only to grow out of it again in a few weeks! Might wear my Shock Absorber sports bra tomorrow, as they hurt they most when they jiggle and that bra keeps them firmly in place haha.
