Getting up is hard this morning. So hard.

RetroHippy · 25/06/2014 06:54

Should have got up half an hour ago... So tired, so late for work...

RetroHippy · 25/06/2014 06:56

Haha, fancy, missed your post before I posted. I don't wanna go to school!!

sazzlehopes · 25/06/2014 07:04

just joining in as I hate to be left out. I'm like fancy and would defo buy the opposite colour just to annoy people! But I actually really like the blue and think it's a nice colour for girl or boy. Or I'm always a fan of black, goes with everything!!!

I missed out on the dinner chat last night, so I want to contribute...had an amazing veggie Thai style peanut noodle salad thing, was so good. With mange tout from the garden which I'm vair proud of! Just the right salt/sweet/sour hit. Mmmmmmmm.

madam I'm sorry it seems like you are left with such a hard decision to make. I hope they are offering you help with that too. It's really heartbreaking to hear Thanks

Knottyknitter · 25/06/2014 07:19

stuck in the Glastonbury traffic Confused

Only cos it's on the way to work. Very annoying, and set off at 640 for a 9am clinic start.

Need brekkie.

Knottyknitter · 25/06/2014 07:55

traffic May have Bern an exaggeration. Arrived and diverted to Costa for brekkie.

Zermatt · 25/06/2014 08:21

Playing catch up again :)

Barmy I love the blue and certainly don't think its unsuitable for either a boy or a girl, a great unisex choice and I hate babies having to be tied to just blue or pink, I am dressing my bub in all the colours of the rainbow so there to all the colourphobes.

Poly thats a lovely wee bump and you do not look fat in the slightest. I am positive that I am carrying this baby in my bum and not my stomach as so far its the only bit of me to start expanding. Which is annoying as I've just ordered more maternity clothes off ASOS (I think I have a problem, someone hide my credit card), which means if I don't pop soon I'll be stuffing a cushion up my top to wear all my new stuff so my DH doesnt start moaning about me wasting money....

Well done to all those that had fish and chips for tea!

lindamagoo · 25/06/2014 08:36

Two nights with no sleep down to Jayden's nasty chickenpox, I hate when they are poorly, how long do the chickenpox last? Just waiting on Jackson getting them too and then the fun will really start HmmHmmHmm

Threnody · 25/06/2014 09:44

Just catching up on everything - need to start reading in the evening just to keep up with you lot!

Barmy - just to add my two-penneth, the blue is fab, for a girl or a boy! I also don't hold with all this colour nonsense - it used to be the other way around anyway.

frenetic - hope today goes ok.

Mademoiselle - hope everything is ok at work today - just take it easy.

Retro - you're not being unreasonable at all - it is nice to see our DHs occasionally!

Feeling much less tired today as I got more sleep - cue instant worrying that something is therefore wrong, as I'm so used to feeling knackered!

Was told off by DH last night for fretting about the midwife not calling, he said I'm being impatient, and it is too early. Sad I said he was mean.

hanflan · 25/06/2014 10:05

barmy I adore the blue, it's a gorgeous shade and not very "boyish" anyway.
I'm another one who doesn't really go for gender specific colours. We're going to go for rainbow EVERYTHING. The nursery will look like a bloody gay pride parade haha!

PolytheneGirl · 25/06/2014 10:30

I'm so lazy today. I should definitely learn to go to bed earlier but when DH is working late I do still like to see him for a bit before I go to bed. Thank goodness he's finishing early today.

Zermatt · 25/06/2014 11:48

Can I ask a question about weight gain? I'm worrying a bit that it's a bad sign that at 14 wks I still have only put on 0.5kg, am hoping it's because I went off food from wks 6- wk 13, this other group I follow seem to be putting on about 3 or 4 kg by now.

lindamagoo · 25/06/2014 11:55

Zermatt my friend is about 15 weeks and she's actually lost a few pounds, her and baby are perfectly fine though. I on the other hand am only 11 + 3 and gained about 7 pounds already Hmm

hanflan · 25/06/2014 12:03

zermatt I read on one of the baby websites (the ones where it tells you your baby's development week by week etc.) that lot's of women don't gain any weight in the first trimester and many actually lose weight, I don't think they start worrying about it until further into the second trimester if you still haven't gained anything by then. Don't fret! :)

Zermatt · 25/06/2014 12:31

Thanks Linda and Hanflan that's reassuring. I never thought I'd be unhappy not to be gaining weight, but now te symptoms have gone and I feel normal, and no bump to speak of you start wondering if everything is progressing as it should. I should try not to worry and just enjoy feeling better, plus the chips and roast etc I've knocked back this week will probably ensure I make up for it very quickly!

Threnody · 25/06/2014 15:04

Midwife rang - have first appointment in two weeks. Excited already! Grin Apparently I have to go to the surgery to pick up a leaflet beforehand.

PolytheneGirl · 25/06/2014 15:41

I'm at the baby factory! Bloody hate it here [grumpy face]. DS cried when I dropped him at nursery school this afternoon too. I'm pretty damn grumpy now having been waiting for an hour already Angry

hanflan · 25/06/2014 15:58

Has anyone else been experiencing heart flutters/paliptations?! I've been getting them really badly the past couple of days. Google tells me it's very common in pregnancy as it's the circulatory system expanding to incorparate the baby, so the heart is working faster... but is this normal at only 6 weeks?! Will mention it to my midwife anyway when I see her.

MademoiselleG · 25/06/2014 16:04

Oh god hanflan I get them really badly! The other day I was standing up and I could see my floaty dress moving to the rhythm of my heartbeat - that's how strong the palpitations were. I have also been very close to fainting a few times and need to get up reeeeaally slowly if I don't want to collapse.

Being a work today was definitely the best thing. I feel normal and sane again. I feel like we will get through this. I am praying so hard that they got it wrong OR (don't judge me) that the problem is so serious that we won't have a choice. I can't bear to think about making a choice. But I don't need to worry about that now anyway. I'll try not to.

Poly what is the baby factory?

hanflan · 25/06/2014 16:18

mlle I'm glad I'm not the only one, that's reassuring!

Glad you are feeling as normal as you can be. I am with you on the not making a choice thing. Fingers crossed that you don't have to :(

PolytheneGirl · 25/06/2014 16:27

The baby factory is my affectionate nn for the maternity hospital. I'm just out now and for the first time in my 2 PGs they don't want to see me again for 4 wks. I think the longest I went in my last pg was 2 wks. All my blood test results were great too! I've got a massive silly Grin on my face right now.

Hanflan my pulse rate was just 96 at rest when I had my BP done and they didn't bat an eyelid!

Mlle I'm so glad work went well. No judging at all about your severity comment. I would be much the same in your position. It is the hardest decision to make.

RetroHippy · 25/06/2014 16:30

Mlle, I'm glad being at work has made you feel more normal. Not judging at all, I'm totally with you on the decision thing. Obviously I am really hoping that it's not as serious as it first seems, but I think I too would be wanting any decision taken out of my hands.

I am having a shit week. Have been a pile of shite at school, the kids are running riot and I haven't the energy to stop them. I'd be hauled over the coals if anyone came into one of my lessons. Today I have not drunk enough water and have eaten a bowl of wheetos, a scotch egg and two Aldi chicken and mushroom slices. I carried a whole bag of fruit into school and back. Bloody knackered and totally useless.
