Zermatt, jealous of your crackling! We did a leg if lamb last week, we're expecting the ILs but MIL is back in a depression Sad so not leaving the house again. Had far too much meat, but chopped it up and put it in a curry and it was amazing.

I don't see why the usual rules shouldn't apply, if it's been in the fridge a sandwich should be fine. Or my mum used to make a really stodgy risotto thingy with leftover pork, cubed carrot, peas, onion and sweetcorn. Amazing comfort food but not at all sophisticated!

RetroHippy · 22/06/2014 10:16

Oh, and I was rocking the 'hairband through the buttonhole' look last week. Dug out one more pair of fat pants so now have two that might just last the next four weeks... Counting down to summer hols and scan day!

MademoiselleG · 22/06/2014 14:46

Oooh pregoo-wear talk! Following someone else's tip-off, I bought a dress and a couple of work tops in the sale at Mamas and Papas - wearing the dress today and it's blissful: so much room!

I also got lovely skinny black jeans suitable for work from Topshop + leggings. I hate the 'over-the-bump' stuff as you get really hot AND it really only stays up when you're 8+ months preggo (for me anyway, last time, despite putting on 3 stone) so I quite like the 'under-the-bump' with little adjustable, hidden elasticated bands inside. H&M also do really nice ones that I kept from last time, cropped peachy coloured skinnies. Oh and you can't beat asos on prices, but the cut is sometimes disappointing. I just got a stripey dress that looked fab online and looks MEGA middle-aged on: high neck, below the knee, clingy but in a bad way...

Food-wise: I think I might finally be able to face that curry I bought teh other day, hurray! Otherwise, about to make fish pie. Not very summery but hey: preggo-lady decides!

fancyacupoftea · 22/06/2014 16:47

I was too scared to buy anything baby related plus it seems waaaay too early. Got some long vest tops though, comfy shorts for lounging in the garden and a skirt for work. Also ordered some proper mat shorts on ebay. Think I might get addicted again to ebay over the next few weeks.

fancyacupoftea · 22/06/2014 18:45

Help meeeee. What shall I have for tea?

  1. Bacon and egg salad
  2. Sausages with lots of veg
  3. Chorizo (cooked!) pasta with pesto and creme fraiche

I can't decide Sad

PolytheneGirl · 22/06/2014 18:49

Well I took DS to a christening today and we were treated to some beautiful Caribbean food afterwards, curried goat with rice and peas and some delicious jerk chicken. Not to mention the patties and tropical fruits. I felt like a roly poly but then went round to my parents where we had a picnic in the garden for tea in the sun.

I'm now lay out on the bed because I can't move! I may have to refrain from eating tomorrow. Even my back is aching I'm so bloated. It's amazing how much you can eat when you haven't had to cook!

I'm going to be in need of some mat clothes if this bloat doesn't go away. Back to M&P I go!

PolytheneGirl · 22/06/2014 18:50

Chorizo wins in our house every time!

freneticfox · 22/06/2014 19:50

Holy crap, my reassurance scan is tomorrow morning..! That came around quickly...

Bit of a rubbish day for me (bit low and emotional) hopefully good news in the morning will perk me up :)

toots123 · 22/06/2014 20:24

What did you go for fancy?

Question... the scan yesterday I drank 500ml of water 20 mins before ( as per the instructions) but my 12 week scan says fill bladder an hour before the appointment.
I have the weakest bladder though and know I'll need to pee and drink again.
what did you do?

I feel its odd to ask prego people to keep their bladder ful for an hour. And then what if they are running late?
Yesterday i had to run to the toilet then dh had to stop at the shop for me on the way to my parents so thats how bad i am......

toots123 · 22/06/2014 20:25

Im sure good news tomorrow will help you feel better fox

fancyacupoftea · 22/06/2014 20:28

Egg and bacon salad. It was brilliant.

Good luck tomorrow Frenetic Fingers and toes are all crossed for good news.

Toots When I went for a scan a couple of weeks ago I drank at home but had to go before leaving the house as I wouldn't last. To make up for it I then drank 1.5L of water in 30 mins. They then made me wait an hour for the scan. IT WAS AGONY. But, I knew I had to hold it otherwise I couldn't do it so the motivation was there. Interestingly though, she said my bladder was too full to be able to do the measurements for the 12 week scan (it wasn't what I was there for, she just mentioned it) so I drank a lot less the next time and it was fine.

fancyacupoftea · 22/06/2014 20:29

So I stuck to their guidelines - pint and a half an hour before. Wasn't too bad.

MundayCakes85 · 22/06/2014 20:32

Toots I drank the required amount over about an hour- I was in agony. Then half way through they made me go for a half wee which was hard!!
Good luck for scans tomorrow xxx

fancyacupoftea · 22/06/2014 20:37

A half wee?!!?!

toots123 · 22/06/2014 20:41

Hmmm... I'll maybe do similar to what I done yesterday but maybe drink slightly more. Its going to be a struggle!
A half pee would be the biggest challenge haha

PolytheneGirl · 22/06/2014 20:42

The half wee thing happened to my SIL too. I had a drink (small bottle of water) about half hour before mine and it was lovely and clear. The letter however had no advice on it at all re bladder filling.

barmybunting · 22/06/2014 21:30

I drank about a pint and a half of water on the way to 12 week scan and it was enough, she let me disappear to the bathroom as soon as she'd done measurements the carried on when I got back. Very hard to manage if you have to wait!

htbftm · 22/06/2014 21:33

lol, good luck for tomorrow fox! Will be thinking of you! x

MademoiselleG · 22/06/2014 22:29

Mmh, my letter doesn't mention anything about bladder and drinking! Scan is at 12 tomorrow. I'm trying failing not to think about it.............

PolytheneGirl · 22/06/2014 22:35

Oooh exciting day for scans tomorrow. Good luck everyone. I expect to see pictures! Grin

fancyacupoftea · 22/06/2014 22:38

Can't believe they don't mention it! On my letters it's in big bold writing and states clearly that if you don't have a full bladder you might be sent away scanless.
So remember - bladders can be emptied easily and quickly but not filled!

Eeeeek so excited for your scan tomorrow too Mademoiselle! Are you nervous or excited?

MundayCakes85 · 22/06/2014 22:55

I'm very excited for all you scan ladies- it's a huge point in your pregnancy. Looking forward to pics.
And a half wee isn't too hard coz you'll be so impatient to get back into the scan room!!

fancyacupoftea · 23/06/2014 07:10

Good luck mademoiselle and frenetic!!

Don't forget your maternity notes like I did.
