lady, haha! I have a slightly bizarre mental picture now...! 'Bavarian wench with Bump' Grin

weeonion, how wonderful! Also hilarious: 'I just have to let it out'! Gold star for DD though, what a thoughtful and compassionate little person. I hope she enjoys having a bit of fuss made over her Smile

I cannot wait for the end of the day today. Having been guiltily wonderful the past couple of days, DP got up the same time as me this morning then got a grump on because I was (sorry for TMI) too sleepy to want to have sex. I went out, drove to the yard, did my pony, got home, put washing out, put next load of washing in, changed towels in bathroom, then had to run around like a lunatic trying to make my smoothie and sort myself out for work in 10 minutes flat. During this time, he watched Top Gear, got dressed then went to work.

I get half an hour for lunch and am lucky to live close enough to pop home for that time. During my lunch break, I emptied the dishwasher, refilled it, wiped up DP's breakfast crumbs, put out more washing and put a new load on, leaving myself minimal lunch time and resulting in a return of the nausea from eating too fast.

I am hoping The Rage will have dissipated by the time I get back in this afternoon. (And it is a bit irrational, to be fair, as I didn't actually ask him to do any of the chores. But he does live there too, and it's mostly his bloody pants that I seem to spend time washing!)

Oklahoma · 13/06/2014 14:12

Twiglet so true! How is it that DHs seem to generate twice as much washing as us!? I just don't get it.

kate393 · 13/06/2014 14:13

Weeonion that's so lovely.
I'm knackered today...DD woke up at 4:15am for no reason...and wouldn't go back to bed after the loo (full of the joys of spring!) She dropped off again at 7 and then I had to wake her at 8 to get ready for nursery. This is unheard of (she usually goes 7pm-7am) so I'm totally not used to it and now remembering all the sleeplessness with a newborn and wondering why I'm doing this again...Grin. Not really of course but ykwim! Early night I think tonight! Any exciting weekend plans for anyone?

Elliekins · 13/06/2014 15:37

For those of you being kicked internally, are you getting random sudden, very sharp twinges that make you go 'ouch' out loud?!
I've been thinking I've been feeling some movement for a while but then always doubt myself.
But then I was just trying to find heartbeat with the Tiny Beats app (which I have now decided in a temper is no good as I can't seem find it today * deep breath *) but as I was pressing down on my tummy I felt several distinctly painful and sharp twangs one after the other in exactly the place I was pressing - is this what it feels like?
Apparently at 19 weeks baby is about 23cm from head to toe which is bloody enormous if you think how strong a goldfish that size would be, so it seems likely, but then I don't want to get excited over painful trapped wind!! Grin

Twiglet - mine has really only two jobs at home; empty the dishwasher and take out the bin.
He refused to empty the dishwasher on Monday because the proportion of items that were not directly associated with him was too high!
This from the man who had been off work that day having pulled a sicky because he'd had too many beers on Saturday!
I despair but then I hold myself partly responsible for doing too much in the early days when I should have laid down far stricter ground rules.
I am in the process of re-training him but clearly not working very well this far. Confused

Miskate · 13/06/2014 16:03

Elliekins - re pains, I have had sharp pains very low down, which came on during pregnancy yoga. My teacher said to keep an eye on them and maybe mention them to the midwife if they continued, but they seem to have been very sporadic. The movements I can feel are very very similar to muscle twitches. Like a gentle tap?

You need to have a word with your other half about the dishwasher! holy moly!! I do more household tasks (washing/dishwasher/cooking/cleaning) BUT do not do hardly any DIY or garden stuff. This works at the moment as we have a lot of DIY stuff on the back burner, but I can foresee a time when I'll go absolutely mental about having to do a lot of work whilst he watches telly.

My husband is also taking over my maternity leave from July next year for 2 months (summer holidays, he's a lecturer), so I look forward to seeing how he handles being a househusband...

Petal26 · 13/06/2014 18:37

weeonion Well done on the award for DD, sounds well deserved

2boys Hope you're ok, I can imagine that's scary

Ellie I'm not really getting sudden thumps, it's like I'm being gently tickled. The movements seem to be lasting longer and longer, like someone is running their finger along the inside from one area to another (obviously a foot or something!)

I've had a good day, not felt sick today, yay!
No school for me so managed a play group with DD this morning and then met with a friend and her 2 children for a walk done by a river with ice cream and play park time this afternoon. Definitely got my exercise in, think I've pushed myself too much, exhausted!!

Alita7 · 13/06/2014 19:54

wee onion what a lovely thing for your dd well done her!

ellie that might be baby kicking something painful, I've had the odd sharp oh but assumed it was ligaments. I've had non painful movement and little kicks so thought it was different things but maybe not!

amy83firsttimer · 13/06/2014 20:51

popcorn and anyone else with sunburn, I got back home from Devon today and my neighbour has lent me her refrigerated bottle of pure aloe vera gel. Amazing!

CraziesTogether · 13/06/2014 22:43

Kicks so far have been more like sudden rumblings and on the few occasions my DH has felt her move she is trying to break out! It feels like she has her head pushing against my tummy and her feet wedged in my spine! My husband is like a hyperactive toddler so finally he will have a buddy with the same energy levels!

I think anyone keeping exercising is doing well. I think it's really helped my moods. I can completely understand how people suffer with ante natal depression.

This is my first, due 1st November..cannot come around quickly enough for me :)

Am about to embark on pram purchasing decisions....if anyone would like to make the decision for me that would be lovely :)

barmybunting · 14/06/2014 07:23

2boys, that must have been frightening. I hope you are ok!

Ellie, I've had various sharp pains low down over the last week or so, I think they are round ligament pain from what other people have said. Perhaps phone your midwife if you are still getting them. My movement so far feels much more like little pokes and pops. Nothing big enough to feel very strongly yet.

ImBrian · 14/06/2014 07:29

I have a scan booked at 9 to go find out the sex. Dp is desperate for a boy and we were told at nt scan that she thought it was one but I'm not so sure and I know that he'll be disappointed. I've barely slept all night with a mixture of stress and excitement. I'd love a little boy (have 4 dds) but at the end of the day another girl would fit in lovely and I know what I'm doing so wouldn't be disappointed.
16+3

ImBrian · 14/06/2014 07:30

On the sharp pains front I get them, especially if I straighten up to fast. They're really painful, it's the ligaments giving up the will to live.

weeonion · 14/06/2014 08:39

Imbrian.... Looking forward to hearing your news. :-)

ImBrian · 14/06/2014 10:03

It's a little boy Grin over the moon.

blamber · 14/06/2014 10:19

Imbrian congrats! Gosh you must have a busy house with with four kids and one coming! Your baby is lucky to get so many big sisters though, it's nice to have family nearby. Mine all live in different countries!

Petal26 · 14/06/2014 10:22

Congratulations imbrian

All those big sisters to look after him and give him advice on women in 18 years time! :-)

Alita7 · 14/06/2014 11:26

Thank you, not quite sure what to do with a boy!

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 14/06/2014 16:04

Feeling awful today headachy sick dizzy poor toddler was Sat in front cbeebies most morning until husband finished some work I then went for sleep didn't help so husband had taken him to a birthday party while I lay on sofa hoping this lot paracetamol work n I don't puke them up.

MrsDowneyJunior · 14/06/2014 19:44

Hi all! Found you at last! I'm back under a new name (random!) and am 20 weeks today. Already had a private scan last weekend & it's a girl (think I said that on the last thread) but have the NHS 20 week one on Monday, I think. Will ask at every scan now, just to make sure!! Lol! Weird to be exactly half way already, it's flown!

Hopeful83 · 14/06/2014 20:20

Congrats imbrian and also MrsDowney on your gender news :) How exciting.

We already know that we're having a girl from the Harmony but I won't be telling them that at the scan and will be asking for the gender so that they can check!

I have slept nearly all day today, I slept until midday, then got up for 3 hours, and went back to bed for a 2 hour nap! Don't know why but just felt so tired.

Can I pose a question: baby monitors. Do you need ones with movement sensors, videos etc? We have begun looking and I have no clue which type to get.

Hopeful83 · 14/06/2014 20:21

Also Eastmids, hope you feel better soon. That sounds awful :(

bunnykitten · 14/06/2014 21:56

Thanks for explaining about the water popcorn !

Our 20 week scan is next Thursday, I can't wait! We're definitely intending to find out the sex, but won't tell people unless they ask, as se don't want to know.

I seem to be able to feel lots of prodding from inside this week, it's quite different from the flutterings of previous weeks.

weeonion · 14/06/2014 21:58

iamabrian - glad you got the news you wanted. have you told the others yet???

eastmids - hope you are feeling better this evening.

ImBrian · 14/06/2014 22:21

Wee onion haven't told the girls yet as they're at their dads but will when they're back tomorrow. Oldest two wanted girls and number 3 wanted both! Sure they'll be pleased though.

That's lovely news that other people have found out as well. Little girls are great but then I'm biased ;)
