Good luck with yours too Stripey! Unsurprisingly I'm still not finished, though I did most of it :)

Barmy (or was it blamber) I've had various cramps and own, I think it's ligaments and wind!

I seem to be getting heartburn increasingly frequently -.-

I dreamt it was a girl last night, we'll see next Thursday!!

It seems no matter what your situation people find a reason to make assumptions or judgements, 'sigh'.

I've been dropped off the due date thread again, along with blamber and popcorn frenzy ( I noticed them as we are all due on same date but there may be others). Now I don't want to use the most recent one to repost as I'm worried I'll drop other people when I add me! Then they'll be annoyed too!

amy83firsttimer · 12/06/2014 22:29

*popcorn I would but as I'm away it's not to hand. Just gonna have to moisturise and hope for the best. How's the foot?

PopcornFrenzy · 12/06/2014 22:43

amy that's a bugger for you...my foot is ok, I've beed slathering on aftersun and savlon so should be good for tomorrows jaunt to a water splash park. Will be covering up and slapping factor 50 on though.

ToniWol · 12/06/2014 22:55

FTMK - I think I was one of the last to update the due date thread but I did use the most recent so possibly someone before me...

Also - my stomach is very vocal tonight... Hope blueberry doesn't want to sleep.

Annarose2014 · 12/06/2014 22:58

The cramps are prob ligament pain. I had them BAD weeks 16/17, but they went away once I properly popped. No doubt I'll get them again at another stage!

PosyFossilsShoes · 12/06/2014 23:05

Hey, congratulations soon-to-be Dr Blamber!

I had hideous ligament pain in week 14/15 but thankfully it's gone for now…

bunnykitten · 12/06/2014 23:17

Can I ask (another) stupid question?! I've noticed a couple of mums bottle feeding their babies water (maybe six months olds). It hadn't occurred to me that babies need water as well as milk! At what age do we start giving them water?!

PopcornFrenzy · 12/06/2014 23:22

An ebf baby doesn't need water whereas a ff baby does. I stopped bf my DS at 6 months and gave him water from then on, even in hot weather ebf babies get their thirst quenched from breast milk.

CraziesTogether · 13/06/2014 07:07

Hello ladies!

I have been following you all over the last couple of months, religiously....and u have all kept me from completely losing the plot! So thanks :))

20 scan yesterday and all is well, the detail they go into is awesome and we are confirmed TEAM PINK!

I laugh at the weirdness about telling ppl I am expecting. Working in a 90% male environment it like saying 'I had sex' as they all look at me strangely! So I have left it to the grapevine....which is also funny as I can see ppl itching to say something but fit fear of calling me fat, say nothing!

I have an obvious bump now so trying not to listen to the ridiculous amount of 'advice' coming my way. Particularly about exercising...coming out of the gym soooo many ppl telling me they didn't think it was 'safe' in my condition!! What exercise are you other ladies still doing?

Xx

weeonion · 13/06/2014 08:35

Morning crazies! Glad all is well with you and scan went well. When you due? Is this your first child??

I usually go swimming 4 or 5 times a week but finding it tougher tbh. I also walk alot but having to allow extra time as pace a bit slower. Not a gym kinda person tho'.

moggle · 13/06/2014 09:53

I'm still doing Pilates which is a godsend and keeping me feeling flexible. I must start swimming again and also would like to get back in the gym just for some light cross training. Otherwise it is just walking around and so far I'm staying in shape ok. Put on about 10lbs by 12 weeks which I was a bit hmm about but now I'm 17 wks and haven't put on any more despite bump growing considerably. My main exercise used to be cycling to work but there are a lot of potholes and the bumping and jarring made me very uncomfy so I'm just doing slow rides at the weekends now :-(

TwigletFiend · 13/06/2014 10:14

Morning all!

blamber, I bought them in my normal size (am normally an 8-10, so bought them in a 10 and they're fine - very stretchy!)

Hi crazies, welcome to the thread Smile Glad everything is going ok for you, congratulations on your DD!

Does anyone know if I have to tell the sonographer that we don't want to know the sex? Or would he/she only tell us if we asked?

Hope those essays are going well, Alita and Stripey. I am clearly a weirdo because sometimes I miss the academic challenge of essay-writing! I find it satisfying because I'm not a massive nerd or anything.

On the exercise front, I am still doing my riding plus all the care, though I poopicked the field yesterday and am 100% sure the couple I share it with didn't clear it on their days this week. There was so much shit! I had hideous backache afterwards for the first time. Wah! Other than that though, minimal exercise for me really. Walking around, obviously, and plenty of arm exercise from hanging out washing atm, but that's it! I don't really worry about it though, it's about time to start slowing things down now for all of us, especially as the risk of injury increases as ligaments loosen and your centre of balance starts to change.

It's Friday today, wahoo! Grin

Annarose2014 · 13/06/2014 10:55

The only exercise I'm doing is walking the dog but that's mainly cos I'm doing nursing which means I walk about 6km per day if not more.

But otherwise I'd be doing something like yoga. As it is I'm conscious my belly muscles don't get a workout at all but at least my pelvis is limber!

I've also from Day 1 not weighed myself. What's the point unless you're very sedentary and/or a gestational diabetes risk? Just leads to more bloody body anxiety!

I have been using the terribly coy "I'm expecting in November". Sounds much nicer than baldly saying "pregnant"! Even though I semi-despise myself using such 1950's language. Its the phrase they made Lucille Ball say FFS!

Kantha · 13/06/2014 10:58

Twiglet - the letter from my hospital says to tell the sonographer at the start of the appointment one way or the other whether you want to know the gender.

2boysandcounting1 · 13/06/2014 11:10

I haven't been on this thread as much as i would like. Just to update, i told my community midwife that i didn't want to be sterilised when i have my section and she was very much in my favour and she wrote it in my notes and underlined it! She said she will put it in again and how mad she felt when doctors scare monger! She said she knows they have to tell me the risks but they shouldn't have handled it the way they did.

last night i went to the toilet and wiped and found bright red blood. It scared the life out of me. I had to go to delivery suite to be checked. They did an internal and said it was clear and no sign of the blood coming from the baby and i did a urine sample and it was pinky red! They are sending it off but i didn't get any antibiotics. I have to phone my gp in about 3 days just really scared me. I was thinking all sorts like placenta coming away. 18 weeks today and still 2 and a half weeks until scan. Will be relieved when i have it. This has made me very tempted to know the sex as was thinking of having a surprise. If they had scanned me last night i would Definately of asked! Heartbeat was fine they said but its so hard to relax.

blamber · 13/06/2014 11:25

2boys, how worrying that must have been. Glad they checked you out and that everything is ok.

Twiglet yes tell them! They can then tell you to look away when they're doing the legs so you can't see it yourself.

Posy thank you! That sounds so cool dr blamber :)

Fmk I also had to update the list three times as I noticed you and popcorn were falling off. I think I might start a google doc. Should be easier to keep updated! We can add more fields as well such as gender.

Alita7 · 13/06/2014 11:59

2 boys and counting, I hope you're ok after that! at least they think babies ok!

Twiglet you may come and finish my essay for my if you like!

Baby is tickling me lots today :p

Oklahoma · 13/06/2014 12:33

2Boys how stressful for you. Not what you needed at all I'm sure! Hope all is ok.

Exercise wise I'm walking the dog and doing Pilates nothing exciting but about all I can cope with. I'm guessing sunbathing doesn't count?

weeonion · 13/06/2014 13:07

2boys - good to see you back and hope you are ok etc

A proud mum boast here - totally shameless and wont even attempt to stealth it.

Just heard that DD has been awarded a citizenship award at school for her kindness, compassion and consideration towards others. (example - on school sports day this week - she was winning her years egg and spoon race and gave up her chance for a wee medal when she stopped to help the other kids whose eggs had fallen off Smile) She has also organised some activism and awareness raising in the school on social issues. Headteacher just told me that all the teachers voted for her as she is one of the most wonderful kids they have with qualities that cant be learned. i had a wee weep when put the phone down.
I am so so so proud of her and she constantly surprises me and reminds me why these 9 months of pains, aches and gripes are SO totally worth it.

Proud mummy boast over Grin

amy83firsttimer · 13/06/2014 13:35

Doing the same amount of exercise as before (none) trying not to turn into a lazy pig though so trying to tag along on neighbour's dog walks and I went swimming yesterday!

amy83firsttimer · 13/06/2014 13:37

weeonion that's adorable! You've every right to boast!!! How old is she?

2boysandcounting1 · 13/06/2014 13:42

No wonder you are proud weeonion, you have a very thoughtful DD.

Im feeling ok today, very tired as we didn't get back from hospital until about 1am and got the 2 boys at home today on my own as my husband working until 10 tonight.

still pink when i go the loo but im trying to drink lots of water. Anyone else finding out what they are having?

weeonion · 13/06/2014 13:49

amy - she is 7 Smile

She does admit that she stores up all her "badness" (her words) for dp and i -

"mum - sometimes it just bubbles inside me and i have to let it out"

ladydolly · 13/06/2014 13:57

Oh weeonion she sounds amazing!

I'm still going to the gym but given up the rowing machine and treadmill. I swim most mornings. Really missed it during the weeks I felt too sick to go.

Bavarian night fancy dress party tonight. Can you imagine how those wench costumes look covering a large baby bump??? Ridiculous!!
