Phew. Was starting to get worried posy !

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 06/07/2014 07:52

Petal I don't either by figured nice knickers for£3!

amy83firsttimer · 06/07/2014 08:11

Went to a wedding yesterday and got the usual comments plus (for second time) told I hardly have a bump by my SIL. She's had 2 kids so does know what 22 weeks looks like. Makes me feel so inadequate especially as I had that 13th centile abdomen measurement. Hope bean is growing ok.
I also has DH's aunty helpfully pointing out that pimms has alcohol in it!!! Thanks I know!!!! Considering I've been having 1 drink a couple of times a week I didn't think 1 small pimms at arrival and 1 small wine with main course was awful but apparently I needed telling about pimms having alcohol in it. Wondering now if she went round the whole crowd telling them incase people were ignorant of what pimms is???!!! Wink

amy83firsttimer · 06/07/2014 08:17

Just been back on the conversion tool for scan measurements to percentiles. The estimated weight puts bean at 26th percentile. Obviously the measurements are unreliable and the percentiles reflect all ethnicities and sizes of parents. Considering DH is 5'6" and so am I and I normally weigh 9 stone that's put my mind at rest quite a bit. SIL is slim but bigger boned than me and her DH is a normal height for a man about 5'10". ....
.. And breath....

CraziesTogether · 06/07/2014 09:15

amy don't let these idiots get to you.

Every pregnancy is different so sure everything is growing fine, she's probably just jealous if she was bigger than you!

My SIL is due this month and has enjoyed telling my family I am unnaturally small...or maybe i haven't pigged out and completely let myself go (yet)
X

PosyFossilsShoes · 06/07/2014 13:24

Amy I've been having an occasional small glass of wine too when I've felt like it - I mostly didn't for the first trimester. And on holiday in the USA, there are signs EVERYWHERE where alcohol is served saying that alcohol causes birth defects as though pregnant women are total idiots who need scare signs up to understand that getting sloshed might not be a good idea, so I made sure that I had a mimosa at brunch one day (okay, I did ask him to make sure it was 90% orange juice but it's the principle of it!)

amy83firsttimer · 06/07/2014 13:40

Love it posy ! What annoyed me was the fact that I knew I'd just had a big fry up then driven straight to the church so I'd a fullish tummy so knew I wasn't being a dick but everyone just assumes that you're some how willing to knowingly damage your unborn child. If that were the case I would gave been on my usual wedding morning routine of smoke, toast, smoke, champagne, smoke, half a croissant, more champagne etc etc!!!!

How was USA? Were you going west coast to see friends?

Annarose2014 · 06/07/2014 14:03

Not a week passes without a comment on my bump. Am trying hard to be zen about it, as I have realised that we pregnant women basically will have 40 weeks of comments.

It has made me resolve to never ever say anything to a pregnant woman as long as I live except "Don't you look wonderful!" Only thing I really want to hear, tbh - whether true or not! Grin

Annarose2014 · 06/07/2014 14:07

By the way have definately had a growth spurt this week (22 - will be week 23 tomorrow)

I'm popping a litle bit further out in general but the main difference is that my bump is now starting lower down. I'm still wearing the same size knickers, but only cos they're low ones, if you know what i mean. Cos the bump now starts sticking out quite sharply at my bikini line. Thats new!

And its also starting to feel a bit awkward and in the way. Thats new also. In a wierd way its a bit exciting though!

MrsDowneyJunior · 06/07/2014 14:40

Anna 40 weeks of comments Grin Grin Grin Grin oh you poor sweet little first time mum!! Grin Grin Grin Get used to it. It doesn't end after birth. For the rest of your parenting life you'll get comments - everyone has an opinion on names, sleeping arrangements, breast v bottle, cloth v disposable, pram v sling, dummy or not, how they're dressed, what activities you do or don't do, what you feed them, which nursery/school you choose, whether you pierce their ears, let them watch TV, what you let them watch, where you take them on holiday, if you let them attend a funeral... practice this move now - smile & nod, smile & nod...

Alita7 · 06/07/2014 16:48

hey everyone, sorry haven't checked in for a bit, been busy!

Hope everyone's ok and that scans are going well!

Feeling my boy moving and kicking for a while at least 5 times a day now plus the odd single kick :) and he's getting nice and strong :D

Alita - Blueberry (or Papaya as DH is now referring to bump) has been very energetic today. Although tbh I'm not sure if that's partly because of the fact the maternity trousers were brought out for the first time today and the pressure under the bump emphasised things.

Vicky5910 · 06/07/2014 21:08

Hi, I'm not around much but marking my place here so I can read up on what you guys are up to. I'm a bit nervous about 20 week scan after I've had a bump to the stomach and some fluid loss :( only 36 hours to scan and hopefully getting my mind put to rest!

blamber · 06/07/2014 21:20

Vicky, good luck with the scan

blamber · 06/07/2014 21:21

Can everyone please add their due date to the list? It's nice to have an up-to-date list of everyone in the thread!

Same issue here (ipad) can someone please add me. DC1 17/11/14 Girl. Thanks.
Sorry I haven't been here over the last fortnight. Been busy. Hope all the scans are going well. I'm loving this stage of pregnancy. My energy levels are back and I just feel so content with life. My appetite is still strong and body is so curvy now but I don't care. The baby's movements have got so strong over the past few days. It is amazing how quickly it changed from thinking I might be feeling something to obvious movements. I can't wait to meet my little girl :)

WheresMrMonkey · 06/07/2014 23:57

Here too please..... DC2 31st October

Strawberryfield12 · 07/07/2014 07:36

Amy if your baby would have had any growth problems, your MW would have contacted you as soon as she got your scan results.
I would talk to DH to sort his mother and sisters out, after all it is his growing baby his family is calling inadequate. Sometimes we just dont appreciate how big role our DHs can play to resolve issues with their families.
I havent met my inlaws since became pregnant, but their better not to make any daff comments about my apperiance! I will see that in few weeks time when MILis due to visit us... As I see her about twice a year, have no clue how she is around this topic...

Alita7 · 07/07/2014 08:23

And me if possible! Having problems getting on my laptop, especially as im off to work in a minute but have to be in bed after dinner tonight -.-

Alita7 dc1 (dps dc4) due November 6th, boy/ team blue :)

We've been watching sons of anarchy for the past month or so and last night I dreamt that Jax Teller decided we had to go on a break because he was scared I'd get hurt and he went all cold on me and I was being all arsey whenever I kept bumping into him and decided to do that not calling so they wonder why and miss you thing. I slept with obee and trig (yuck?) and then started going a bit mad and had to try and convince people I wasn't crazy... pissed off that I woke up before Jax and I made up :(

I've just added everyone who asked - not sure on Mrmonkey's baby gender or whether this is popcorn's 1st, so don't be offended if they're wrong!

PosyFossilsShoes · 07/07/2014 08:31

If that were the case I would gave been on my usual wedding morning routine of smoke, toast, smoke, champagne, smoke, half a croissant, more champagne etc etc!!!!

Haha! Yep… one of my friends was scandalised when I had half a glass of prosecco, she knows how abstemious that is for me!!

How was USA? Were you going west coast to see friends?

It was amazing. We flew into LA and then hired a car and drove up through Vegas and Yosemite to San Francisco where we have friends. Too much sitting in planes and cars to do with a baby so this was our last 'grown up' holiday together.

Although there was a family on the plane who had four children under ten including a toddler and a baby of four months - who were all immaculately well behaved, a lot quieter and more polite than some of the adult passengers, I can only assume they were drugged Grin

Elliekins · 07/07/2014 09:07

Hello ladies, hope everyone is finally 'blooming'!

I feel bloody enormous and am vacillating between admiring my lovely big bump in mirrors/shop windows and proudly sticking it out and then feeling agast/terrified that we will apparently gain 1-2 cms per WEEK around the middle for next approx 18 weeks - that's a lot more growing! Argh!!
I haven't got any stretch marks yet but surely nothing can stretch that much!

Currently on holiday in sunny Croatia and unable to do anything other than view the google doc - please would someone kindly add me too? Smile

Elliekins DC1, EDD 7/11, GIRL! Grin

I had my first (much too tiny) glass of wine yesterday and it was heavenly - it was a beautiful rosé on a balcony overlooking 'King's Landing' in Dubrovnik, such an amazing setting, I would usually have polished off a bottle in the time I made my little glass last Sad. DP pissed me off by having TWO GLASSES - he NEVER ever usually drinks wine. In 6 years I have not seen him drink a glass white wine (except at a wedding) but yesterday he suddenly acquired a taste for it. Angry
Was surprised that even 125ml made my legs feel all fizzy - I'll be such a cheap date after this!
Been having a shandy twice a week over the last few weeks, but finding it harder on holiday than at home, watching DP on his third ice cold beer by 3pm by the pool yesterday and simmering with envy.
