Lots of lovely scan news. Lucky you with the extra prints ToniWol. Mine is tomorrow too Popcorn, slightly nervous. Had lots of bump pain up the front on and off. Like poking pains but not baby. Am worried, despite my bump, that there will be something wrong. Also have only put on 5lbs which is less than expected. As I haven't had HG or lots of vomiting and have been eating loads that worries me a bit.

To all the teachers, hang in there - 2 weeks 3 days to go here.

Lula2515 · 01/07/2014 18:36

Just found this thread, how lovely! Already had my scan, we're having a boy!

Annarose2014 · 01/07/2014 18:44

Welcome Lula! Me too! Grin

I want my DH with me as he's going to be a strong support in there, but I suspect thats not for everyone. I was talking to a woman the other day who banned her DH "He's be just standing around looking useless!" So I think it very much depends on the partner!

I have to say I wouldn't mind doing it alone though - but he'll be a help rather than a hindrance, I think.

Have also decided not to have an epidural. I am currently nursing a man who was recently paralysed from the waist down from one. Now I have to stress before I freak you all out that it is INCREDIBLY rare! Very few cases. I know my fear is largely irrational given the statistics. But I don't think its possible to nurse someone it happened to and not be affected somewhat.

So it'll be a TENS machine all the way I think. And gas and air.

Strawberryfield12 · 01/07/2014 18:48

eastmid I have scan next Wednesday as well! I think at the moment there is no single day when few people aren't having their scans.

Btw does anybody know which week on 2 trimester we have to do another blood tests? Remember I had to book it sometime, but whether it was week 22, 24 or 28, have no clue. There are too many appointments to remember....

Lula2515 · 01/07/2014 18:55

Glucose blood test at 28 weeks x

FTMK · 01/07/2014 18:58

Strawberry field it's 28 weeks I think - see here.

fetalanomaly.screening.nhs.uk/getdata.php?id=10758 also quite useful to see all screening for you and baby when it comes.

Hopeful83 · 01/07/2014 19:37

Congrats to those on their happy scan news Smile

I've just weighed myself. Big mistake! Have put on 7kg so far. I'm 22 weeks today. Not sure if this is too much or not but it freaked me out when I converted my new weight to stone

Lula2515 · 01/07/2014 19:57

I feel your pain, Hopeful I've put on 16lbs! 22 weeks tomorrow.

haventgotaclue1 · 01/07/2014 21:17

You're not alone Hopeful & Lula - me too and I'm 20 weeks today AND I'm on holiday at the moment and have been indulging on "holiday food" aka ice cream, cream teas, cornish pasties etc etc. Goodness knows what weight I'll be by the end of the week! Ho hum Smile

amylou85 · 01/07/2014 21:43

eastmids Strawberry If you mean next wednesday 9th July rather than tomorrow then I shall be joining you with scans, I'll be 20 + 1 then. This is just going to be the longest week wait of my LIFE!

FTMK Tell me about it, counting down the days and hours til summer hols! To top it off they've booked me in for an observation tomorrow! How harsh to do that to a pregnant lady 3 weeks before Summer hols! Just give me a break!

I'm 19 weeks today and I have really popped in the last few days, most of you might have been through this phase, but does it feel like your insides are being slowly ripped apart and you feel a constant uncomfortable stretch? It's driving me mad, I don't think my skin is going to cope well at all with bump growth, I am constantly searching for signs of stretch marks!

amy83firsttimer · 01/07/2014 22:45

I'm on twice daily bump oilings! After shower with wheatgerm oil (gift from sister with perineal massage lecture) and before bed with sanctuary stretch mark oil (leftovers from mate who never got round to it as baby came at 32 weeks and thought she'd save it til the end). I'm sooooo stingy about some things it makes me chuckle sometimes!

Strawberryfield12 · 02/07/2014 07:37

Yes amylou it is next Wednesday! So we are 3 already!

I am also using oil twice a day. In the morning this one
www.onlynaturals.co.uk/madara-sculpturing-oil-200ml

And coconut oil in the evening. As it starts to feel that this week I am rapidly growing and putting some weight on the bump, suppose I better oil as often as possible.

ToniWol · 02/07/2014 09:46

Am currently using Palmers on my bump. Feels nice if nothing else.

Just had to scroll back to check the insect repelling moisturiser spray. The Guides were outside playing rounders last night and I got nibbled. Hmm

Hope today's scans go well. Mine was odd - partly as I knew the sonographer and partly because they'd overbooked and I wasn't being scanned in ultrasound but a spare room in EPAU. Although my friend had been due to finish before my scan but decided to stay when she saw my name!

PopcornFrenzy · 02/07/2014 13:18

Hello peeps, scan just finished and very happy that we're team pink, sonographer was awesome so very thorough, the pictures I got were very cute and the profile one is actually really pretty Smile

PopcornFrenzy · 02/07/2014 13:25

Profile picture for you :)

That's a lovely picture popcorn!

Miskate · 02/07/2014 13:55

That's such a good picture popcorn!!
Mine looks like skeletor

ladydolly · 02/07/2014 14:05

Ahhhhh lovely pic!!!! Ours were all rubbish, they didn't charge us and I think that's why.

Any bigger busted ladies out there struggling to get unwired support? I just bought 3 'Freya' bras on eBay and they are AMAZING! So comfy and as supportive of my normal 36g boulder holders. Best pregnancy find so far :)

TwigletFiend · 02/07/2014 14:43

Hello from sunny Lanazrote, ladies! Grin Scan picture lovely Popcorn, have attached ours too hopefully. Dire flight as I have managed to catch a horrible cold and was hell on my sinuses but nice to be here and not have to do anything! Bit of stretchy pain today but better than it has been. Hope it improves for you amylou, hang in there!

booksshoescats · 02/07/2014 15:28

Gorgeous scan pics, Popcorn and Twiglet - so clear. Mine were just total fuzz, I'm amazed they could decipher anything!

So jealous of your holiday Twiglet - I'm finding work exhausting at the moment - really unmotivated, and I normally love my job. Roll on August, even if we are only going to Devon!

I'm using this Weleda oil on my bump. It's not a very big bottle, but I've been using it every day for weeks and still only a quarter of the way through. It smells divine. I got really sick of the smell of Bio Oil last time - can't use it now! Didn't get stretch marks, though, and I find oil really helps with that feeling that you're going to bust out of your skin (ugh!).

Lula2515 · 02/07/2014 16:20

What lovely scan pictures! If mine is anything to go by I will be giving birth to a very large floating head (shouldn't have said that..definite nightmares now!)
I'm struggling at trying to give up my underwire, ladydolly but so uncomfy so thanks for the recommendation!

PopcornFrenzy · 02/07/2014 16:24

Thanks everyone, DP said that he knew all along that it was a girl and he was right and he's the best etc etc.

SIL to be sent me a message saying I was very lucky to have one of each and how I now have a perfect family...it wasn't meant as a compliment she absolutely depises me and makes no secret of it! She has said she much prefers DPs exW to me but I don't care, I have no time for bitterness or bad feeling.

As for having a girl, what the hell do you do with girls? I've had a boy and now I'm feeling a bit scared at looking after a girlie Grin

Miskate · 02/07/2014 17:02

Wow your SIL sounds like a right treat popcorn, Jesus!!
Some people just love to be miserable.

Petal26 · 02/07/2014 18:17

Popcorn I feel exactly the same but for the opposite reason! After my scan I just kept saying what am I supposed to do with a boy?! I know what to do with my girl! :-)

Poorly DD, up late last night and very early this morning + school + after school meetings. Been looking forward to watching OBEM in bed all day, come on 9pm!
My hips have been hurting more today too :-( Need sleep!
