fancy blizy

Prunes, All Bran and squatting...

if that fails lactulose from chemist is safe in pregnancy...

KeepOnPloddingOn · 08/06/2014 19:36

blizy :( sorry to hear about your experience - I assume the post mortem means you obviously lost the baby? Awful. So happy for you you are pregnant again now. I would keep the baby regardless of downs syndrome- I will have the tests done though simply to prepare me.

linda god I remember the sweats with the over active thyroid- and the runs! A bit like pregnancy really haha.

Well I am sure we will be far more sensible this time around :) I will def be looking to only having two, so I will lose this baba weight swiftly! (I will have 2 under 2 - so I imagine I wont stop!)

Hi all, thanks for the new thread! I'm having the nt test, I'm not sure what we would do, it depends what it found. But I am an avid researcher of everything so would want to be prepared.

Spent all afternoon walking around London in the heat, I'm exhausted! Had to stop for a quick nap in the park. My hips have started to hurt in the last few days, I'm hypermobile so have been worried about having trouble with my joints, didn't realise it would start this early :( Going to ring mw and hospital tomorrow and ask why I've been given an obstetrics appointment, if they don't let me go to the mw led unit they will have a screaming pregnant woman on their hands!!

lindamagoo · 08/06/2014 20:02

I want the nt test but oh doesn't so I really don't know what to do Hmm we would have the baby no matter what but I'd like to be prepared and he thinks I'll just spend the whole time crying if it's bad news, he's probably right though

KatnissEvermean · 08/06/2014 20:06

I'm jealous of all you ladies with scans coming up, it seems like mine will be ages away.

I have been thinking about the tests today too. It seems so much easier to think "I'd have an abortion" before you're pregnant. My mom was told all sorts of horrible things would be wrong with my sister and she wouldn't live very long, to the point she told me and my brother not to get too attached to the new baby when it arrived, and she is the fittest of all of us, no problems whatsoever.

I am so fed up of feeling queasy all the time. I was feeling lucky as I'd only been sick once, but just had to run to the loo to be sick while reading this thread. It comes on in the evenings, and I have really lost my appetite. I also seem to have the never ending cold! I keep thinking it's going, but it's back with a vengeance today.

My sympathy to all who are bloating, I feel your pain.

lindamagoo · 08/06/2014 20:12

Katniss we were told ds2 would have all sorts of problems too and he's perfect, they don't always get it right.

Loobyloo893 · 08/06/2014 20:13

Katniss, with DS my sickness was always worse in the evenings because it was worse when I was tired. Now with looking after DS while DH is away I'm tired ALL the time so feel sick all the time! Smile

Ikkleme · 08/06/2014 20:33

Monster headache tonight ladies! Any tips to get rid my mw told me not to take paracetamol in the first 12 weeks Hmm

ViviPru · 08/06/2014 20:35

Sara I'm hypermobile too, albeit mildly so. My dentist thinks this is connected to my resistance to anaesthetic as apparently the two are linked. Have you ever experienced resistance to local anaesthetic?

KeepOnPloddingOn · 08/06/2014 20:41

sara sorry to hear about your hip troubles. I would suggest you get advice quickly on it as I suffered all through my pg with a bad hip and even now it hurts at night! I should hae done the physio. My back was terrible too. As I ahe stated I gained a ridiculous 5 stone (was very thin prior to pg) but even so that didnt help matters!

KeepOnPloddingOn · 08/06/2014 20:42

Ps I should add , that is my last pg, this pg who knows what will occur. I ensure to try my upmost to stay active and way healthy (ish)

fancyacupoftea · 08/06/2014 20:49

Really Ikkleme? I've not heard that before! I've been taking just the one when I have a bad headache.

Minibagel · 08/06/2014 20:50

Oh no ikleme I've taken paracetemol in the first 12 weeks for reducing a fever...woops!

CallingAllEngels · 08/06/2014 20:53

I just caught site of myself in a shop window! My waist is like a tree trunk and my boobs are HUMUNGOUS!

11w today!

lindamagoo · 08/06/2014 20:55

My mw said paracetamol are fine, I took them in previous pregnancies when I got really bad headaches

KeepOnPloddingOn · 08/06/2014 20:58

Anyone else got indigestion already? Mine is terrible. Having gaviscon all day! I'm a bit worried is this normal!?

cheshirem2b · 08/06/2014 21:01

We've decided that we'll have NT and bloods but that's it... What will be will be and we'll love smudge regardless. Not suggesting others are wrong for doing other tests, everyone is different and it's about what is right for each couple really isn't it?
Had a lovely lunch out with my mum today and then she insisted on looking at prams... Exciting!

RPopz · 08/06/2014 21:03

Saras I guess you have an obstetrics app because hypermobility affects you internally as well as joints... so could affect uterus, cervix etc and hence baby. Apologies if you already knew that - I never knew until I had a friend with the same issue. Always just though it meant you could do cool finger tricks!! Hmm

RPopz · 08/06/2014 21:03

I've heard paracetamol is fine during preg as well x

Ikkleme · 08/06/2014 21:14

Thats fine if I don't solve a headache it ends up being a migrane! Does anyone know what all the blood tests are for? I think I had 3-4 and 2 urine samples at my booking in yeaterday

RPopz · 08/06/2014 21:23

They usually do a full blood count, to check for haemoglobin abnormalities, blood grouping and hiv, hep b and syphilis screening. The urine is usually just to check for protein and sugar - to make sure no infection or diabetes. Diff hospitals may do other tests as well. x

MademoiselleG · 08/06/2014 21:25

I think we will definitely have all the tests we could possibly have. Like someone rise mentioned earlier, it would be mainly to be prepared and to prepare dd. I honestly don't think I could abort. Before being pg and having dd, I wouldn't have thought about it twice, but now I just couldn't!

Ikkleme · 08/06/2014 21:32

Thats good to no thanks I really think it's all abit extreme the booking in process when all you've had is a BFP like when my bloods were being taking I was being asked if id like to no sex of baby but it's a case of the scan might not be ok and mw getting hopes up... I'm so worried about my first scan as I'll be so disappointed if it's bad news... I feel nausea and tired but that's it and I'm 8+1 today

haquoi123 · 08/06/2014 21:39

ikkle paracetamol can't pass through into the placenta, it's molecules (?) are too big. (Expecting Better, Emily Oster) I've been absolutely floored by a cold this weekend, paracetamol is my friend!! Literally spent 2/3s of the time in bed, not sure how I'll cope tomorrow. Luckily ms has eased, travel sickness bands and vitamin B6, and I'll cry if it's just placebo!!

English I'm the same as you, had some bleeding and the scan, got put back and am seeing them again on Wednesday. My entire family knows (my nanny took one look at me and guessed) so I'm just waiting for a heartbeat to confirm things. I've given up on 12 week secret, that was blown yonks ago!

Dec thanks for the New thread :)
