cheshirem2b Aw the crying for no reason other than tiredness I know that one well. Hope you get a chance to nap.

Gingerpanther27 · 01/06/2014 17:05

Due about 22nd January. Approx 6+2 Got Ds1 who's 11 months. Apart from the occasional crying session and been food mad today no symptoms at all. Slightly worrying as I have a lot of health issues right now. Saw mw on Friday and seeing them again tomorrow then when they get results from quantitive hcg there going to send me for an early scan. Really not feeling reassured right now as completely different from other pregnancies.

Gingerpanther27 · 01/06/2014 17:06

And the tiredness!!! Wow. Forgot about that.

OneDayLikeThis2013 · 01/06/2014 17:40

Hello to all the fellow newbies!

So we had our private scan today and it was SO lovely! We saw the little bean who is in the right place and had we saw a really strong flicker of a heartbeat. DH thinks he spotted it before the sonographer which I doubt but I don't have the heart to correct him! We have some little photos although it really is just a blob!

I do have a question though and apologies if it's a silly one but this is all green to us - from my lmp, we calculated that I was 7+1 but the bean measured just over 6 weeks. My cycle is like clockwork and we've been monitoring my ov date with the clear blue smiley face tests and so I'm pretty confident I ovulated on day 14 (got a smiley face). I also got quite an early BFP at 10dpo. So my question is, are the measurements maybe slightly out and likely to change with the next scan?

OneDayLikeThis2013 · 01/06/2014 17:41

Also, if the bean is 6 weeks, is seeing a strong heartbeat a fx good sign at this stage?

fancyacupoftea · 01/06/2014 17:56

Hi Oneday my scan put me back a whole week which I thought was a bit ridiculous and apparently the dates will change on every scan you have . I ignored the date they gave me on my private scan because I didn't want to wait another week for my dating scan so didn't tell the mw I had it!
I looked up the stats about seeing a hb at 6 weeks and although it's not as good stats as seeing a hb at 8 or 9 weeks, it's still pretty good!

fancyacupoftea · 01/06/2014 17:58

Oh and congrats on your scan!!!

do they work? x

Gingerpanther27 · 01/06/2014 18:31

When I had my scan at 7+2 with ds they put me back to 5+6 had my 12 week scan at 14+2 as my 12 week date landed over the festive season. He'd caught right up and I basically knew when he'd been conceived. I think the growth rate varies so much in the first trimester.

HenriettaTurkey · 01/06/2014 18:47

I've had them before, ginger, in my last pregnancy. I got them from about 10 weeks as I was very sick. Sadly by the time I started the sickness had set in so much that it was really a bit late, but they did take the edge off.

I developed full blown HG, because I carried on teaching when I should've been off sick.

I am calling the doctor tomorrow to get some this time. I haven't actually been sick this time, but that's because I have done as little as possible - sleeping, resting on sofa as MUCH as possible. Hoping to stop it before it starts, as I feel very sick already.

Be very firm that you need them - they will start you off on cyclizine, and if that doesn't work you need to go back and ask for ondansetron. They're a bit more reluctant to prescribe it, but it's worth it.

Also, have you been on the Hyperemesis Support thread? It's very supportive and everyone on it is going through the same, so it might be worth a look.

All the best!

LuluJakey1 · 01/06/2014 19:12

I had an early scan this weeks, we thought I was 6 or 7 weeks but they said 8 weeks 3 days. I hadn't been keeping track of periods 'cos we hadn't seriously started ttc so have accepted what they say.

No sickness today and DH now feeling much happier- think he was worried earlier this week.

MIL has texted me yesterday and today which is nice!

I am looking forward to being at work tomorrow. Like to be busy and it stops me thinking.

LuluJakey1 · 01/06/2014 19:19

DH last night, after we'd eaten and were cuddled up on sofa listening to music.
DH- Lu, I've been thinking.
Me- MMMM
DH - When you're not feeling up to going out much and are on maternity leave, it would be nice for you to have a big telly to watch instead of that thing we've got.
(That 'thing' has a 36 inch screen which I think is fine, and it's only a year old)
Me- Is this anything to do with the World Cup DH?
DH (astonished) - Not at all! Absolutely not. I was thinking about you.

Does he think I'm totally stupid? It's like the adverts on TV. He is soooo obvious. Grin

lindamagoo · 01/06/2014 19:25

Lulu that's fab about the scan Smile

Your DH sounds a lot like mine, he suddenly wants a bigger tv too and ours is already huge

Minibagel · 01/06/2014 19:28

Haha Lulu that is such a man thing to say!! Thinking of you?! Although think of all those one born every minutes you can watch together on the big screeen!

I saw in the tv guide there are a couple of programmes about babies on this week (tues? Itv) one about quads (please dont let me have quads) and one about the secret life of babies.

Maybe I need a bigger tv now too?!

Minibagel · 01/06/2014 19:29

Ps thats not the name of the show, thats just my private plea!

LuluJakey1 · 01/06/2014 20:07

linda and mini Oh he comes up with some classics does DH!

He is researching all sorts on his ipad about pregnancy which I then have repeated to me as 'expert opinion'. Yesterday it was . 'We should definitely have lots of sex because every time you have an orgasm the baby feels very soothed by it and happy. It knows something nice is happening. It's good for it'.

Oh really DH!

ilovelamp78 · 01/06/2014 20:10

Haha Lulu that sounds like something my husband would say!

lindamagoo · 01/06/2014 20:12

Hahahaha Lulu, that's a great excuse to have sex

RPopz · 01/06/2014 20:13

Haha Lulu that is a good one! Bless him! Preggers sex is good though (shame I've only managed it 3 times cos so bloody tired! Hmm )

LuluJakey1 · 01/06/2014 20:18

It's not like I've gone off it - the reverse in fact Blush - it is just an example of the rubbish he tells me.

He wakes me up at night when he can't sleep, to talk to me!

Good job I love him!

lindamagoo · 01/06/2014 20:19

RPopz I've only done it once, far too tired and sick feeling and worried about bleeding Hmm Poor OH must be chomping at the bit for sex by now, bless him.

phoebs88 · 01/06/2014 20:19

Same here re tiredness...roll on 2nd trimester!

cheshirem2b · 01/06/2014 20:58

DH is being very patient with me! After we had bleeding 2weeks ago I'm scared to have sex in case of bleeding so trying to hold off until 12 weeks. It's our anniversary on 7th June so might cave by then! Wink
lulu DH likes your hubby's idea....! Thanks!

LuluJakey1 · 01/06/2014 21:03

cheshirem I'll tell DH- he likes to think he is helpful Grin

It is his birthday this week so he is probably hopeful.
