KeepOnPloddingOn · 30/05/2014 20:42

sara I am sure you are right. You know your own body. I just wondered what to look out for. biology ain't my strong point :)

KeepOnPloddingOn · 30/05/2014 20:43

rpopz hahha , love th term 'crotch watch'

LuluJakey1 · 30/05/2014 20:44

RPopz crotch watch. I like that!

Fortunately, DH is as obsessed as me, if not more so!

I am 8 weeks + 6 today. Can't quite believe how quickly last few weeks have gone.

Frances79FirstTime · 30/05/2014 20:49

So there I was trying to be chilled, waiting for midwife and just bored of feeling sick... No interest in early scan etc as didn't see any point...

But midwife called yesterday (haven't booked in yet) and seemed concerned and rather confused that I can't date my pg as never even had withdrawal bleed after coming off cerazette so has recommended I have a private early scan just to date it and "check viability". She tried to get me one on nhs but apparently they are for emergencies only here, which is quite annoying!

On the plus side I may find myself £85 lighter in pocket but on Tuesday morning we should be seeing the bean! (And hopefully have a better idea of due date!) feeling a bit nervous about the scan - If my workings out are right I will be 8+5 so does anyone know if they should be able to pick it up with external scan? X

I was not sure of my dates and when I went for first appt with consultant they did a scan- an internal one. It was fine, but they said I am further on than we thought.
Pictures were very clear! Don't think they would have done an internal scan if they had thought I was 8 and a bit weeks. We thought I was 6 or 7, but then had not been keeping track of anything and were just trying to remember when my last period was.

Frances79FirstTime · 30/05/2014 21:07

Thanks ladies! Just keeping my fingers crossed all will be ok now! (I know I should get used to doctors rooting around down there!)

Ikkleme · 30/05/2014 22:37

Can anyone tell me if you get a nhs exempt card when pg? I'm due for a dental check up and holding off for a few weeks if I can get it for free xx

That's good to know I'll wait for that before I book my check up thanks x

ChineseFireball · 31/05/2014 00:42

I got the form for the maternity exemption card at my booking appointment. I'm sure if you ring your GP they can give you one. You do have to apply though - it doesn't come through automagically.

Hello to the new ladies Smile I'm sure I'm not the only one counting down the days until trimester 2 and the likely end of MS. I'm getting bored of it now!

9+6

Camsie30 · 31/05/2014 07:09

My exemption card arrived yesterday, it took about two weeks. I've also received my "baby on board" badge for the tube!!

Saraswati · 31/05/2014 07:29

My exemption card came about 10 days after posting the form. Got it the day after I'd paid for a prescription! (Of course). I need to go to the dentist, I wonder if you get the hygienist free too?

Scan today, have slept for about 2 hours. At least today I'll know how things are going either way and can move on from there :s

Minibagel · 31/05/2014 08:04

Good luck for today saraswati x

Pesto11 · 31/05/2014 08:30

Good luck with scan Saraswati. Hope bean is growing well!

j200 · 31/05/2014 09:08

Good luck Sara!

I'm starting to feel better D wise today at last, going to be so strict about what I eat now!!

I need to apply for my baby on board badge now too for tube, really need a seat or risk retching on some poor passenger

It's sunny Grin

phoebs88 · 31/05/2014 09:18

Good luck today Saras Grin It'll be great.

Does the exemption card entitle you to free prescriptions then? I've never heard anything about it! I know you get free dental treatment but I didn't realise you had to have a card to prove it.

RPopz · 31/05/2014 09:57

So glad you're feeling better j200 - sounded horrendous xx Thanks
