Hi all, I said hello somewhere in the depths of thread #1 but clearly haven't been keeping up! Hope everyone is well and managing ms..

We had a scan at the EPU yesterday due to some one sided pain, however it was all ok! Sonographer even played us the hb -- apparently the machines are stronger/better in EPU? Dated us one day behind so fairly happy and feeling v relieved.

Good luck for anyone else having early scans soon... I can't stop staring at our little splodge!

Saraswati · 30/05/2014 17:45

Hi all, glad to hear good news phoebs88 I've had some one sided pain but don't know if it's bad enough to report, like stitch type pains but not as bad as a full on stitch. What did yours feel like?

j200 my gp told me you can take Imodium in pregnancy have you given it a try? I've had diarrhoea on and off and have taken it a few times.

Had a really busy day at work and am completely shattered, had some cramping today and milky discharge but no blood, more like stretchy pains so I'm trying not to worry. I have been getting more crampy when I'm tired has anyone else found this? Scan at 1pm tomorrow, hoping to go to bed really early and sleep in late so there's less time to wait!

Saraswati · 30/05/2014 17:49

Also english completely understand where you're coming from. Thanks for your message, hope you are ok, sending you lots of positive vibes! X

sleepisforthetired · 30/05/2014 17:52

Thanks Blitzy

I can't image how difficult it must be for you. If you honestly don't mind...

I will be high risk also - but regardless I would not be able to carry to 40 weeks.

Will they do CS before 38 weeks? I asked this question on forum previously, as most of what I had read says after 38 (and norm 39) - but that is obviously the "general" answer as opposed to actual case by case.
I would be quite glad if you had already had this confirmed as would mean it was worth discussing with ours (once I get allocated).

It is believed placenta was failing which lead to the other issues we had. We have been putting money aside to pay for extra scans for later in the pregnancy so I can see it is not happening again.

blizy · 30/05/2014 18:07

Sleeping, my placenta failed too. I went to hospital for reduced movement, all was fine, I was induced but it was all too late. I was told they would deliver at 37 weeks if needed, i.e depends in my mental state at the time.

Minibagel · 30/05/2014 18:28

Gosh blizy how sad, I am really pleased you are going to get super special treatment with this baby, you deserve it.

Who was it that had a scan today? I think I missed the update and I'm hoping everything was ok?

MrsCK · 30/05/2014 18:30

Hiya, sounds like the nausea's really setting in now...It is over here too...found pom bears are helping at the moment. Really don't want to go back to work next week, not sure how I'm going to cope with the sickness combined with the fact I've been having 4 hour naps this week...hmm

First appointment is next Friday for me. I'm hoping for an early scan due to a medical condition I have...It would certainly put my mind at rest I think from all my worrying.

Hope everyone is ok...love to all your little beans. Wonder if any of us will have multiples?!

RPopz · 30/05/2014 18:33

DH keeps mentioning twins... erk!

Saraswati · 30/05/2014 18:57

Mine too rpopz he's convinced it's twins because I'm so sick and can feel my uterus at just over 9 weeks. None of us have twins in the family but it's the kind of ridiculous thing that would happen to us, guess I'll know tomorrow! Do you have twins in the family?

phoebs88 · 30/05/2014 18:59

Saraswati, I had light stitch like pain to begin with but then it felt more like stabbing the past couple of days - it got quite intense weds night so phoned EPU to put my mind at rest.

I'd had light bleeding over the weekend so I was perhaps a little over-cautious phoning them, but it's really put my mind at rest. They were great and said to come in for a scan to be on the safe side.

Enjoy your scan tomorrow - it's so amazing seeing the little tiny weeny person inside you...still can't quite get my head round the fact this is real!

LuluJakey1 · 30/05/2014 19:07

RPoz and Saraswati- we wondered about twins but had scan this week and there was definitely just the one tucked up. Thank goodness! I think We will find one hard never mind 2.

We have been looking at the scan pictures- can see head and bum but not much else. DH thinks it looks like Mr Potato Head without the hat! Can't wait for 12 week scan.

LuluJakey1 · 30/05/2014 19:11

MrsCK Me too. I have bern on holiday this week and have spent a lot of time 'having a lie down'. Experienced morning sickness for 3 days but seems better today.

Have no idea how I will cope at work again next week. (Wonder if I could make a sleeping space in my office and hope no one would come in and catch me)

RPopz · 30/05/2014 19:16

Saras I think there's twins on DH's side. Not mine though! Everyone says twins because my bfp was so early and strong! Over a week before I even missed a period! Confused

RPopz · 30/05/2014 19:17

Haven't had bad ms though which I think is usually a sign of twins isn't it. Just plenty of nausea!

MightyQuin1201 · 30/05/2014 19:46

I'm worrying today that I don't have enough symptoms. So worried about things not working out. I know I've got to snap out of it and be accepting etc.

HenriettaTurkey · 30/05/2014 19:51

Guess mine isn't twins then as I had a negative test at 4 weeks!

Odd as it sounds, I keep thinking I'm making the whole thing up. 2 positive tests (albeit cheapies), no period and lots of nausea and exhaustion, with a bit of ligament stretching to boot and I still don't really believe it.

LuluJakey1 · 30/05/2014 20:01

Mighty Try to stop worrying and enjoy it. Don't wish for morning sickness, it's crap! Consultant told us this week at early scan that at 8 weeks 3 days( where they measured it at) 98% of pregnancies will go on and be absolutely fine with no serious complications.
And I am 35 just about, first pregnancy and have to be monitored because of health condition.

Henrietta I know exactly what you mean. It feels unreal- even having seen the scan, having nausea, boobs growing, suffering 'wind', sex surge, weepiness, I still keep thinking it might not be true. Grin

KeepOnPloddingOn · 30/05/2014 20:03

Sara's- as daft as it sounds ... How do you what to feel for regarding your uterus? My stomach is hard already and I am only 9 weeks too. Oh my god... Twins too!?

Saraswati · 30/05/2014 20:05

rpopz he might be right then!! I didn't test until I realised my period was 3 days late (was on holiday and got my dates mixed up) but I had symptoms about a week before that which I blamed on the food as we were in India. My bfp came up on a digi in about 10 seconds with an evening wee so I am wondering!

phoebs88 · 30/05/2014 20:07

Henrietta and Lulu - me too! Still checking when I go to the loo to make sure AF hasn't turned up - even with a scan to prove he's in there!

keepon well I'm not sure as this is my first but for about a week I have felt a rounded lump above my pubic bone which is now a couple of inches higher than it was. It was just two fingers width above the pubic bone and now it's nearly 4, have had stretchy pains last few days so I assume it's related! It was flat before and I can't hold it in now. It's probably normal but I've never been pregnant before so I'm thinking all sorts!!

LuluJakey1 · 30/05/2014 20:11

Oh yes phoebs the checking for AF! Have even (tmi) showed DH loo roll to say 'Do you think this is very slightly pink? '
Answer 'No, not at all. Take it away Lu!' Blush

phoebs88 · 30/05/2014 20:31

Ok, I'm not quite THAT bad (yet) Lu....Grin

Think I'll finally believe it when there's a bump!

HenriettaTurkey · 30/05/2014 20:39

Oh no, Lulu, I haven't done that!
