I'm feeling so off lately and can't fasten my trousers :-( surely this isn't supposed to happy so early! No sickness yet but so groggy and tired! Constantly hungry but can't finish a meal as filling up quickly! Think am 6+5 feel as though I need to tell someone at work or I'm going to have a melt down

cheshirem2b · 29/05/2014 12:57

Good luck ladies with scans... I am sure we have a couple today. fx for sticky beans!

Lunch today... meat & potato pie with baked beans... yummmmmm!

gingysmummy · 29/05/2014 13:05

Hi everyone just back from epu huge delays today, great news still a bean with hb ,no reason for bleed and they think pain is bowel related. Baby also grown although i couldn't make it out that well on the scan.I've been given edd 22/1/15 which makes me only 6 weeks although going by my lmp i should be 9.Midwife said its normal for dates to change as i was still irregular after mmc.
Hope everyone else who has had scan are doing well. How are you today Linda?

Minibagel · 29/05/2014 13:08

Great news gingys and even though it puts you back a few weeks, you're still in the thread yay!

Hope you're ok linda

lindamagoo · 29/05/2014 13:15

gingy that's fab news, not about your dates changing though, that sucks but yay to the little bean doing well Smile I'm doing ok, bleeding stopped last night so didn't get a scan today, think my pain was also bowel related as once I managed the toilet the pain eased off Smile

Mslad · 29/05/2014 13:16

Brilliant news gingys! I was put back too and found it a bummer (extra weeks to worry) but the main thing is to focus on is that there's a healthy hb Smile

j200 · 29/05/2014 13:17

Great news gingys Smile

So my conversation with my GP, renouned for always being on time mega bitch went like this:

-Whats the problem?
-I'm just over 8 weeks pregnant and have had severe diarrhoea for 4 days now, over 20 times a day, i'm worried it is severe food poisoning
-It probably is, why are you worried?
-Because it might harm baby and it says on nhs website to go to gp if pregnant and have diarrhoea for 3+ days
-Oh i'm sure you'll be fine, just keep hydrated, lots of soup and fruit juice and anything else you can stomach. If you can't keep it down go to A&E and they'll put you on a drip
-Ok thanks

Soup it is for me then!

Loobyloo893 · 29/05/2014 13:22

Great news gingy. 22/1 is a great due date Grin

Minibagel · 29/05/2014 13:30

J200 classic gp advice. Ha.

They are right though, do go to a&e to be put on a drip if it continues, as you might be getting dehydrated?

I am struggling to drink as my throat glands are enlarged and it makes me wince just to swallow. It is also making eating difficult. Not that I fancy anything. Uck. Pg is so glamorous.

ViviPru · 29/05/2014 13:51

Glad to hear all is well Gingy & good news your bleeding has stopped, Linda

9 weeks today for me Smile

Starbright24 · 29/05/2014 14:15

Glad all is well gingy and you are feeling better also linda.

Ikkleme..I bought big elastic waisted trousers as couldn't fit into mine and any pressure didn't help with the ms at all. - feel like a right slob now.

gingy Great news! Grin

j200 that is classic GP! When I went for increased folic acid by GP didn't weigh me, check BMI, nothing. Just said "congratulations, I'll sort that prescription for you, good luck"

Mslad · 29/05/2014 16:54

Onto the really important issue of clothes, none of my jeans fit me anymore, I don't want to buy maternity jeans yet and am getting sick of my comfy leggings already. Has anybody tried those maternity belly bands? They look like a great idea, but are they actually comfortable? Will your trousers really stay up without closing them?

ViviPru · 29/05/2014 17:10

Mslad I'm dying to buy maternity garms; I fancy new summer clothes and don't want to waste money on my usual size, but can't justify it yet as everything still fits! Although that might be due to a sizable weightloss last year and the clothes that fit are all depressingly the pre-weightloss ones Sad

In other news I've just agreed to go to Bestival when I'll be 23 weeks. When it was first suggested it was a flat "are you kidding?!" but actually, I'm really excited now!

Mslad · 29/05/2014 17:27

vivi About a year and a half ago, I also lost loads of weight, but we moved country and I threw all my larger one's out. I'm kicking myself now! I'm also dying to buy maternity gear, but was planning to hold on till after my scan...plus I have loads of lovely trousers I bought when I got thinner, would still kinda like to wear them, so thought the belly band might work?

For bestival you'll be in the wonderful 2nd trimester (as we've been promised) and you'll have a great time!

blizy · 29/05/2014 17:50

vivipru I have T in the park tickets, I was so looking forward to it bit I really don't fancy camping and the minging toilets at 11 weeks. I might just sell the tickets and buy a Saturday ticket instead...

Jealous of festival talk! I'm missing out on a festival in Lisbon because it's in July, will try and go to reading (it's 20 mins from my house) but it just won't be the same! Will be in the second tri by then so hopefully will be feeling better.

I had a sickness free morning only to puke a lot this afternoon, not sure whether to go back to the gp and get some different meds. I'm still being sick about twice a day, which is an improvement, might try and ride it out for now unless it gets worse.

I think my womb is definitely rising up, my abdomen is now rounded and I can't hold it in (usually have a flat stomach). I can't wear trousers anymore and don't want to buy maternity ones yet so have invested in a couple of smock type dresses (sexy), I can't stand anything tight over my tummy. Might buy some maternity stuff after my scan on sat (if it's ok) if anything went wrong I'd never forgive myself for jinxing things for buying them (crazy I know).

Anyone thinking about stretch mark cream yet? I want to start early (am now 9+2) so am going to treat myself to the mamma mio one on sat if scan goes well, anyone got any recommendations though?

MelMc73 · 29/05/2014 18:26

Great news Gingy. Glad all okay after scan!
Been feeling pretty yukky all week and exhausted. Even just walking up stairs is an effort. Just been eating what I fancy though. And peppermint tea! I've erupted in spots though....fortunately all in my hairline and scalp rather than face!
Off in the caravan again this weekend...weather sipposed to be nice so fx it is!

Dec2013mummy · 29/05/2014 18:43

I just used Body shop coco butter throughout my last pregnancy, I used it twice a day from 12 weeks and have no stretch marks!! Going for the same again this time :)

OP posts:
Loobyloo893 · 29/05/2014 18:57

I used my normal moisturiser(clarins) twice a day from about 10weeks and didn't get any stretch marks. I tried bio oil but hated the stickiness of it and having to wait 5 mins before getting dressed.

lindamagoo · 29/05/2014 19:13

I just used normal moisturisers both times and no stretch marks Smile Wonder if I'll be so lucky this time Wink

blizy · 29/05/2014 19:18

I used sanctuary body butter stuff (the maternity care one) I didn't get any stretch marks either. I believe it's just down to luck though, although I did love rubbing it onto my bump, baby liked it tooSmile.
