Re pains in early pg i think its subjective. I remember period type cramps with my first and the mw said it would be ligaments stretching. Sharp pains can also be the same but if they require you to take painkillers you should defo see your dr. I have had some of both with this pg.

Saraswati · 28/05/2014 18:08

Hi all, fingers crossed for those who have had bleeding today, I hope you can get scans ASAP and see happy little beans.

I had another rough day despite the sickness meds, also (tmi) but have bad wind and diarrhoea again like I had when I first got my bfp. Also weird pressure in my abdomen that I can't decide whether it's wind or womb. I'm a bag of fun today!! And because my symptoms felt different today I've been worrying, my scan on sat can't come soon enough!

I'm also mega spotty, obviously some kind of 9 week hormone surge going on which I am not liking one bit. Almost fainted at lunchtime, my bp was a little low when it was checked two weeks ago and have been getting dizzy spells so I think it's gone lower. I might call the mw tomorrow if I feel bad again, I think I just want it checked to make sure. This pregnancy lark is not much fun, sorry for the whinges, we still haven't told anyone and DH is out tonight and needed to vent!

RPopz · 28/05/2014 18:22

Lots of new bfps today! Welcome newbies and congrats!

Really hope everything goes okay for you both Linda and Gingy xxx

Been ready for my bed since about 1pm today.....

KeepOnKeepingOnAndOnAndOnAndOn · 28/05/2014 18:53

Me too rpopz! Dd insists in starting each day at the bright time of 530 am! Argh. Early nights all the way.

Re pains, I agree it is subjective. I had pains with dd and it was just ligament stretching. I have had cramps again this time and I am not too worried to be honest.

Good luck to Linda and Gingy for tomorrow. Fingers x.

LiveInABox · 28/05/2014 19:45

Sara I think we're about the same stage (my EDD is 8th Jan) and I also have come out in loads of spots! What with bloating and retching and farting and spots, I'm feeling super sexy right now! Also got a stinking cold so add snot and phlegm to the mix!

Got my early scan on Saturday and am counting down. We'll have to take DD(2) with us as we've told no one yet so there's no one to watch her. It's a private clinic so hoping it'll be ok if we load her up with some stickers!
Good luck to everyone else with upcoming scans x

littlecat123 · 29/05/2014 01:05

Liveinabox My EDD is 7th of Jan and I've also burst out in horrible spots suddenly glad to see I'm not alone!

Minibagel · 29/05/2014 07:00

Ack. I had a fever yesterday, think its related to my sore throat but when I tested it was 38.9 and I guess it could have gone higher than that. It's back to 37 this morning, I think its normally about 36.5? Anyway, cue major panics about neural tube defects. And then I remember I also forgot to take my folic acid multivitamin yesterday because I hardly ate anything. Nooooo. Someone tell me im being daft. Please?!

Minibagel · 29/05/2014 07:01

Ps. I've just had an early breakfast and taken my vitamins as a precaution. But I feel terrible for skipping a day and having a fever.

Good luck for scans today!

My diarrhoea has got worse so really worried I have salmonella or something more sinister Hmm having day off work and going to see if I can see GP to get tested, just so worried it will harm baby -know salmonella doesn't usually but I feel horrendous and normally have a strong tum

Minibagel · 29/05/2014 07:37

Salmonella doesnt harm the baby but keep yourself well hydrated j200 as dehydration does affect our little beans.

Thanks for the advice and kind words madrigals I hadn't thought about the background level of folic acid in my system from taking it for weeks. I did take paracetemol for the fever yesterday and it did bring it down. I hate taking anything but I think its for the best with certain things.

Good luck to everyone with scans today!

Hope you get to see GP j200!
I did my usual 9-5 yesterday but then had on call to cover which was until 11pm so this morning I'm exhausted!
Was looking forward to an early night tonight but DH reminds me his brother is visiting tonight and tomorrow night, then we are at a wedding on Saturday! Argh!

Mslad · 29/05/2014 10:08

Good luck to all having scans today, x

This may be a daft question, but do you think a bad fright could harm the baby? I got up for one of my many night time wee's. Didn't realise DH was in the loo, (he usually puts a light on & locks door, but for some reason didn't). I got SUCH a fright, shrieked & ran back to bed with my heart pounding for ages.

That sounds a bit dramatic when I type it, but I got really concerned that a fright could harm the bean.....any thoughts?

Starbright24 · 29/05/2014 10:29

I really do not envy those of you with busy hectic lives at the moment. I don't know how you do it. I've cancelled everything this week and dreading work again next week.

Mslad - I really don't know about frights but hope you're ok.

I keep on missing taking vits. Was so good with conception ones but now forget all the time.

Cake for anyone feeling rough and who can manage it.

Off to asda and boots to try pick up 'mums to be' free stuff from

Starbright24 · 29/05/2014 10:30

Bounty and emma's diary which I was given by mw yesterday ( sorry last post cut off)

Minibagel · 29/05/2014 10:52

Mslad I think major traumas like the death of a relative or partner could potentially harm a baby but a fright shouldn't cause any harm. My heart races when I watch scary things on tv or at the cinema and I'm sure they'd warn against pregnant women watching if there was any harm to be done x

Mslad · 29/05/2014 11:21

Thanks mini & star I'm sure I'm worrying about nothing....but I seem to do that a lot these days Blush

Pesto11 · 29/05/2014 11:23

I am shattered. Had such a relaxing few days that I don't know how I'm gna have the energy for next week. It's a long half term till the summer starbright! Plus we have summer trips to London etc... Lonnng days out on coaches ... Fun(!)

Good luck with all the scans.
I'm still waiting for my 12 week scan letter.
2 months down...7 to go! : )

Starbright24 · 29/05/2014 11:55

I have to book my own appointment for scan tomorrow. Lazy gits.
I read the reviews for my local hospital which I said I'd go to as it's just round the corner. Bloody awful. Might have to do a bit of research and phone midwife to change it. Can I do that? I'm sure I must be able to.

Loobyloo893 · 29/05/2014 12:03

Starbright you can change hospitals at any time. Our nearest might be changing from consultant to midwife led but my mw said if it does I'll have to change to a diff one. But u can choose to change anyway
